+ | <spoiler>Conan tranquilizes Kogoro and reveals '''Atsushi Taninaka''', Saizu's barber, as the culprit. Taninaka took advantage of Saizu's glasses which he left on the counter while Taninaka was cutting Saizu's hair. Taninaka applied cyanide to Saizu's glasses on the left side where the temple meets the frame, expecting that Saizu would need to remove them when they became fogged up while entering the steamy ramen shop. Saizu removed the glasses, holding them with his left hand while wiping the lenses with a handkerchief in his right, thus poisoning his left hand. The poison was transferred to the chopsticks and then to his mouth when Saizu broke them apart with his teeth. After Saizu died, Taninaka exchanged his glasses with the victim's to hide the evidence. Taninaka confesses and reveals he murdered Saizu, not only because he threatened his activity, but also in order to have the restaurant close down and remodeled for greater success. A month later, the ramen restaurant reopens in Beika City and becomes popular after changing its slogan.</spoiler> | ||
