Mami Mamiya (間宮 まみ Mamiya Mami) is a character in the anime franchise Detective Conan.

Background
Mami Mamiya is a 19-year-old college or university student living in Beika City. She recently took on a part-time job of taking care of elderly people.
Personality
Despite being almost an adult, she has a childlike personality, and easily gets scared, especially of ghosts. She is also trusting of children and is skilled with taking care of them. She is however forgetful, having forgotten that the "ghost" she saw also came with "will-o'-the-wisps". She is quite athletic, running around town with the Detective Boys to find the supposed ghost. She is overall a curious and adventurous person.
Appearance
She is a girl of average height with short chestnut hair. She is seen wearing a yellow polo shirt and beige oversized cargo shorts, held by a brown leather belt with a metallic buckle. She also wears yellow "Crocs" sandals with mid-length white socks.

Plot overview
It's a Ghost! (Anime: 1173)
As part of her part-time job, she started to take care of Motoko Kanazawa, a 75-year-old retiree living in a spacious two-story house. While going to the second floor of the house on Thursday nights, she started a white figure on the rooftop of a commercial building and seeing that the figure suddenly disappeared, she assumed it was a ghost. However, Kanazawa did not believe her and thought she was being childish. She thus sought out the help of the Detective Boys, who she met at the park.
She brings the kids with her on the second floor on the next Thursday, and all of them (Mitsuhiko, Ayumi, Genta and Mami) see the supposed ghost. The next day, she treats the Detective Boys to dinner at the nearby Italian restaurant, "TOMO", located on the first floor of the building where the "ghost" appeared. This time, Conan and Haibara join the team. After thorough investigation, the Detective Boys figure out the truth and realize the ghost is none other than the restaurant chef, Tomoharu Kanazawa, who opened his restaurant close by to check on his elderly mother. After noticing that Mami started appearing on the second floor instead of his mother, a concerned Kanazawa started making phone calls without speaking and checking on his mother, making the impression that a ghost was lurking around. At the end of the case, the Detective Boys and Mami enjoy a meal at "TOMO" and see that Motoko decided to start working again to help her son.
Trivia
- Her name is a wordplay using the repetition of the kana "ma" and "mi".
- Her outfit is inspired from the outfits of participants of the charity TV program 24 Hour Television: Love Saves The Earth, which aired on the same day as the episode she appears in. The participants also wear yellow shirts.
