When I first saw the topic title "Depression Club", I was like not another one of these topics where people complain and talk about their miserable lives without doing anything to fix them. Then, I realized that the true intentions were to sympathize with one another and to support each other when times are rough. It's a good idea for a topic since we all need that extra comfort and that "pat in the back" that we don't seem to get IRL.

I think the more appropriate title for this topic should be "Sympathy Club" since it not only focuses on depression, but also on the support and comfort that the miserable need.

I highly agree with this idea.

Well, for me, I don't know if this feeling can be called "depression", but like I said in another thread, I've recently been having this very bad feeling came out from nowhere, that something will fatally happen to the one person whom I care about. I really wish that my feeling would not come true, but in case it will, I think that I have to be emotionally prepared

Well... I guess.

But sometimes, people don't want sympathy. Most of the time they say they don't, but truly, they do...

I can't change the title of the topic, sorry...

I think you can. Go to your first post, click edit, click "Use Full Editor" and change it from there.

Depressed: maybe a little. I just get tired of being ignored sometimes. People treat me like thin air, or make fun of me at my expense. In short, they make me feel like trash. However, from all the DC I've watched/read, I know that suicide is just the coward's way out. I'm also optimistic that things will turn around in the future.

Another thing: People don't know how to read my feelings. I get REALLY tired of people asking me where I'm going to college, what my major is, etc. It's none of their business, so why can't they SHUT UP? It used to make me feel bad that people were so nosy and so blind. I'm not THAT hard to read am I?

You can change the title if you want, but I don't really WANT/NEED any sympathy, so it doesn't affect me.

I see... I think I understand how you feel. Thank you for sharing with us... <3

Don't worry. Most people feel like that... Do you want to be read easily? Or do you want to have a Poker Face? It's up to you.

I won't say that I'm 'depressed'. In fact, I'll get offended if someone (like the *cough* counselor *cough*) suggests that about me.

No, I am NOT depressed. No, I do NOT have a mental illness. No, I do NOT love life.

I cried in class yesterday.

Cuz I failed one assignment and now my grade for the class is a 'C+'

And for some strange reason, I had the gut feeling that one of my classmates (a Eurasian at that! *rolls eyes*) was making fun of my low grades.

So I swore to beat her grade in that class by the end of this year.

Oh sweet revenge.

Eh... Well, I'm sure you'll get them~!! :D Keep it up~!!

Personally, I hate guidance counselors. They're useless when they try to help and make the situation worse...

Yes, I know... But it can make it worse...

So, who wants me to change the title?

I'm not forcing you to change the title, but I think Sympathy Club would be more appropriate. And if you are willing to post reasons for your depression, you obviously seek some sympathy (who posts about how miserable they are, then denies sympathy from others?). After all, one of the greatest remedies for depression is knowing that someone understands you, cares for you, and is willing to help you. I don't know about you, but without sympathy, how can anyone be emotionally stable?

Thank you. :)

That's one way to see it. One of the counselors I talked to back when I was in Middle School actually helped me.

The others... meh.
