I always thought if it was possible that Conan can travel to other countries, stay there for a while, and solve cases. He could be left there for a while due to some unfortunate events and luckily find a person who is capable of understanding his situation and capabilities. He will stay with that person for a while as he face some cases in unexpected times (as usual).

Imagine, Conan solving cases in America or in Europe.

I also thought of BO being an international organization. And as if it wasn't a coincidence, Conan will unexpectedly face these foreign members and encounter a "Gin-like" BO member. That would be freakin' awesome!

These things, though, may hinder this idea:

> Not all Americans, Europeans, or whatever nationality they have can speak Japanese. And we all know that it would be very unrealistic if all of the foreign people Conan encounters knows how to speak Japanese.

> It wouldn't be realistic, too, to leave a child like Conan (ran and Mouri doesn't know he's Shinichi after all) to another country.

What's your take, guys?

I'd rather dislike it, personally. I watch DC, partially, at least, for its Japanese culture. The way they go about their lives, their traditions, their ideals... That kind of stuff interests me. I'd hate to see it replaced by other cultures.

Besides, the recent London arc already caused something of a plot hole with the 24-hour pills (it lasted a much shorter time in the imposter Shinichi case). For Haibara to manage to randomly improve the pills or for Conan's immunity system to weaken seems like a terribly inadequate explanation. This happening again would make the whole "I want my body back" concept idiotic since he seems able to turn back whenever he feels like it.

Maybe for one of the movies; he could help the FBI solve a case or something, but in the manga I really hope it doesn't happen because I love the way some cases are centered around Japanese culture, and if it were gone for a long time, I'd be upset.

I think the occasional case wouldn't be too bad, there had been a few cases set in other countries, such as the "Golden Apple" case that takes place [at time of airing/release of anime/manga] a year earlier, in NYC. Then we have the London arc of the series/manga.
