Come on DC fans, we all know it's Ran, right? Mouri Kogoro Sometimes there are things that are too simple to read or see which most tend to overlook. Kogoro is nothing but a fraud going with the flow of whatever comes his way for as long as he benefits from it, after all his Detective Agency is on the verge of bankruptcy prior to the appearance of Conan. Not only that, he is addicted to gambling, horse racing to be specific, and does nothing but drink beer. He even let his wife live separately from them and not really thinking about whether his daughter would be more comfortable to be living with his wife than with him. But who cares about that? Really. This is not the real world. Sometimes, things are more complex than what it seem and I want to believe that Kogoro is one of those. I don't want to be disappointed by the end but I still refuse to believe that he is exactly what he is on the surface without some form of action coming from his head. He is too simple that it's almost suspicious. Or maybe not. Maybe I'm just overestimating him. So far, none of major characters has given me that kind of interest, not even Shinichi/Conan because we always see his perspective or Ran, unless she's the Boss which is very unlikely.

I see I voted for Makoto but now I think Hattori is attractive too because of his accent..

In my case this is more like the reason why I still can't seem to completely drop it despite constant breaks for 10 to 12 years that I've known the series and the number of years is exactly the reason why. I've known it for so long and I've been looking forward to see the end since day one so why stop now?

I've never given much thought about Ran and the romance in DC in general aside from it's okay, it's tolerable but things do change. I think Ran is basically the romance in DC, which I admit to have developed a dislike as I see it more because I see less relevance to her character and the romance as well. I understand however that she is supposed to be Shinichi's biggest motivation to get back to his original self but I find it less believable now perhaps because of the slow development. She's one ideal girl but she's too ideal to the point that she bores me. How about a believable flaw or maybe an impressive feature about her that no one has expected from her yet? I even had this thought that Ayumi is just a 7-year-old version of Ran and yet I see Ayumi as a better character than her.

I recently picked up series again , started where I left of sometime 2 or 3 years ago, and I found an extra interest on Mouri Kogoro this time around. He's got to be my favourite character now..

Hi there fellow Newbie This sure is a fun and useful site so Welcome to DCW!! (not that I've been here for so long myself) There is no major problem regarding the Wiki so you don't have to worry, it is just that the Mods are working on it manually so a little patience. (Ahh!! Our Mods' dedication. Awesome people.) There are a lot of interesting threads and posts by other members so for the time being, I suggest you check it out and perhaps post your thoughts as well.
