"Hey." Sakila greeted when Vivi and Misaki got there. "Sakila! Sakila!" the little bird chirped happily as Sakila smiled back at it. "Hey Kuu~" "So what's up?" Vivi asked. "Hope I'm not in the way~" "Of course not Misaki~ I've wanted to talk to you for ages as well~ It's been long. I wonder how long has it been?" "About a year perhaps." "That's Vivi. Misaki, you left earlier if I'm not wrong." "Perhaps." Misaki shrugged. "Anyway, what's up?" "Oh yes. I have something I'd like to discuss." "About?" "I was wondering, have you ever heard of an ancient machine which can limit the abilities of a human?" "You mean the inhibitor?" "No nono... I mean... an ancient device... which can make the fastest runners slow, the strongest weak." "..." "Vivi any clue?" "... Any other information?" "Well, apparently it was created in this country they call 'Japan'." "Ah." Vivi and Misaki reacted to the name of the country. "What? Both of you know something?" Both of the girls hesitated, then shook their heads, seemingly trying to remember something important, but just can't hit it. "Nothing comes to mind?" "Are you trying to learn something about the inhibitor?" Vivi asked. "Yea... Just when I thought I had some clue, nobody knows anything about it..." "... Well... if its about the inhibitor instead..." "What?! Do you know anything about it?!" Sakila suddenly got pretty excited. "TELL ME." Misaki and Sakila both leaned closer. "Hmmm..." Sakila raised an eyebrow. "Who?" "Oh~ Some guy in the rebellion who deals with the technology." Misaki grinned. "Looks like birds of the same feathers flock together." "..." "Ooooh." "Yea. But now they got a real good reason to get better quality ones." "They're all down when I haven't gotten enough yet. Humph. Does the rebellion lack money?" Misaki tried to control her laughter. "Stop trying to show off. Your hands are already bleeding." "This called bleeding? You haven't seen me when I came back from the fight." "Yea yea... " Misaki shrugged. "You don't look any better though." Vivi added on. "Me? At least they're not bleeding as much." "You just wiped them off. I saw that." Misaki stuck out her tongue. "We didn't get much sleep last night, but I still feel energetic. What should we do?" "Dunno." Vivi shrugged. "Vivi! Vivi!" shrieked her bird. "Vivi! Vivi!" "What's the matter?" "Sakila! Sakila!" the bird cried. "Sakila!" "Huh? What?" Vivi was confused. *BEEEEEEP!* "Hello? Vivi? Are you there?" 'Oh. A phone call.' Been ages since Vivi received any phone calls. "Da** who changed my ring tone!?" Vivi cursed under her breath and replied. "Yea. I'm here. What's the matter Sakila?" "Ah! Can we meet up for a while? Got some stuff to talk about!" "Sure. It was rather rare, but Vivi was kind of happy that day, so she decided to go do some workout and spend some energy. But when she reached, another girl, Misaki, was there, and she was practically killing the dummies Vivi was supposed to hit later. That can't do. "Hey." Vivi called out to the girl, who apparently did not hear it. "Hey." She called out again. Still, no response. "... HEY!" Vivi yelled at her, finally catching her attention. The girl responded, letting out a raspy "Hey." Vivi threw her waterbottle to her and asked blankly, "So... whatcha up to?" "What does it look like? Beating the shit outta dummies." "Because of the meeting?" Vivi asked, with a little sarcasm in her tone. Misaki gave no reply, just an indication that it was probably true. Vivi then sat down next to her, which she normally wouldn't with other people. They had worked together in previous missions and met quite a couple of times. However, the main reason Vivi felt more comfortable with this girl, was probably because they both shared the same goals. She felt that she could relate to how Misaki feels when she joined the rebellion. Like her, someone close to her had been hurt, in her case died, and they both joined the fight for revenge. This made Vivi feel as though they are bonded by fate. Then, she remembered that Misaki has the ability to bend metals. She hurriedly took out her mechanical bird and put it onto Misaki's hands before asking "Can you fix Kuu? He got screwed up during the battle..." Vivi turned to look at at the ground, "and I know your dad is a clockmaker so..." "I can try," she said, while fiddling with the bird. "No promises though. I only have basic knowledge." "Well... I'm too lazy so..." Vivi trailed off her sentence. She actually just wanted to see Misaki's metal bending ability. She knew Misaki had seen her bird quite a couple of times, so she should have no problem bending it back to the original shape. Vivi understands perfectly that Misaki is actually a genius at this, except she doesn't know it herself. About a half hour later, after multiple attempts, of some which Misaki herself wasn't satisfied, the bird was fixed as though it was brand new. The bird's eyes flashed on as it screeched out, "Hiya~! Hiya~!" "Yes!" she yelled out. "Thanks for fixing it." Vivi faintly smiled back. "You're welcome!" Misaki looks as though she was in joy. They then continued to sit in silence for a second, the only sounds coming from the rather loud mechanical bird. Vivi then remembered why she was there in the first place. She got up before walking over to the wall and grabbed some tape. As she wrapped it around her fists, she said, "Come on, let's kick some dummy ass." The other girl laughed in agreement. "Ready?" 'Heh. I won't lose to you.' Vivi thought. "Ready." Misaki gave a nod to Vivi, which somehow indicated their start. Vivi brought up her fist and smashed into the hard cushion. ========= Earlier with the technician. ============ "So... What do you need my help with?" The technician asked. "I need you to help me upgrade him." Vivi held out an out of shaped bird from her new, but still huge and black jacket. "Huh?! Again? I always wonder why do you need such a high-tech bird for?" The technician raised an eyebrow in curiosity. "I've already helped you to add an AI chip into your bird a few weeks ago, and now you want an upgrade? Do you need him to fight or something?" "No." Vivi replied and placed the bird on the bed. "I just don't want him to end up like this again." "... Oh right... You don't care what happens to my awesome invention but you care so much about your..... bird." "So... can you help?" "Humph, I probably can but I may not want to help." the technician crossed his arms. "But first, you need to tell me what kind of upgrade you want to do to your bird. AI technology is already a bit too much for a mechanical bird." "... I.. want to know if it would be possible to put that cube technology into it?" "The cube? You want your bird to be a battery now?" "No no no. I mean... Can you make it in such a way that it can use the energy from the cube?" "Huh, you mean allowing it to use it like its own ability? Why do you need...?" "Can you do it?" Vivi asked again. "I... I'll try. This could take a while though... " he shrugged. "Oh, and one more thing." "What?" "Can you help to coat the 'void crystal' or whatever that is onto it as well?" "... Void crystal!? You crazy!? That thing is rare!" "Well, Jackson did say he would get the materials, you can get some from there..." "WHAT!? That is for the manufacture of the cu- wait... you don't tell me you want ME to STEAL it?" "It's not stealing... its still for the same purpose, but just used in a more innovative way..." "..." (Moho says it takes a week for the weapons to prime during the meeting. And the meeting is just over. I don't think a week passes so quickly. However, I don't think he said we can't start the basic fights. So probably... yeah? )

Chatted with my sister on fb chat, when she was just sitting next to me. Had sent her a message to ask her what's the time. She turned to the side and checked the clock and replied me through fb. :V

The meeting wasn't as boring as expected. At the end of the meeting, Vivi left the meeting room and headed for the workshop where the technicians are. She needed their help with something. She wasn't very clear about the route but in the end she still made it there. The technicians recognized her immediately. "Hey chibi, what do you need from us now?" the short guy from earlier asked. "I need your help with something." "Humph." the guy rolled his eyes. "I don't see why I have to. There's nothing in it for me and im not obliged to help you. But~ if you beg me I'll consider..." the technician shrugged and turned away smugly. "I see..." Vivi nodded and turned to leave. "... HEy youre leaving just like this!? At least explain what you came here for!" "..." Vivi paused to shrug then continued on her way out. --- (Late afternoon)--- "... Hide your presence if you don't want to be found out... Nobody's gonna go unnoticed if he keeps glancing in like that." commented Vivi on her bed. "And what are you doing in a girl's room at this time of the day?" "Humph, I-I'm just here to ask abou-about your opinion on the cube." the short guy came out of hiding and entered the room. "Well too bad for you, it's useless now and Jackson would probably not use it." "What!? Why!? It's awesome!" "The enemy found out about it already. They will easily find a way with it." "..." Everyone was stunned by the sudden appearance of T. The warning and news he brought along didn't make it any better. They were at a loss for what to do. Jackson sighed and then spoke. "Right. This was one of the issues I was about to bring up earlier. Listen." he pulled out the recorder again and pushed the button. There seemed to be nothing coming out from the recorder. Then, Jackson took out another item. "It was one of the items that Vivi and Sparrow took back." Jackson explained, then placed the recorder next to the item. Suddenly, they could hear a soft melody being played. Then, slowly, it started to increase in volume and became louder, and louder, and within a matter of seconds, the volume increased til everyone was covering their ears in pain. Before it caused any serious damage, Jackson turned off the recorder. "As all of you have witnessed, this is something like an amplifier. T probably used this to amplify the ability. From the cube explanation, we can also understand that T probably has a similar way to store his energy and extract it. Then he amplified it using this and increased the range of effect greatly." Jackson paused for a moment before commenting. "I'm afraid their technology is far too advanced for us to create another device to counter. For now, try not to rely too much on our abilities." "There's something I don't understand..." someone in the room commented. "Why did T come down specifically to warn us about all these? " "Well, for an organization that produces weapons and arms, in which scenario will they get the most benefit?" "In a war... Ah! Don't tell me?" "That could be one possibility. If a war starts, both sides will be needing weapons to counter the weapons of the enemy." "I see! So that's it! They want to use this despicable means to-" "However, if that was the case, it was weird that they made no proposal for us to work together nor introduce themselves as a weapons dealer. I have heard that T was an eccentric man and probably no one can figure out just what is in his mind." Jackson shrugged. "For now, I'll have the researchers work with the technicians to see if they can come up with anything useful. I want all of you to start training on your combat skills from now. I will call upon another meeting when we have any news, so make sure you're always available. Also inform your families to make preparations for war (if you have any). End of meeting."

"Now what?" Jackson turned to ask Vivi once the technicians were gathered. Vivi scanned the group of them carefully. "Ah." Everyone waited for Vivi to comment. "Shortie.." Vivi pointed to the shortest one amongst the technicians. "... HEY! Whaddya mean by SHORTie you... you shortie!" the annoyed guy tried to fight back but was held down by his fellow mates. "You-you're even shorter than me!" "Humph. If I were taller than you, it would be terrible for you." Vivi shrugged nonchalantly. "WHAT!?" The hysterical guy flailed around on the ground trying to get his mates off him. "Alright. That's enough. Vivi, you have something to tell us?" one sentence from Jackson cut the drama and all turned their attention back to the topic. "Hey shortie." Vivi ignored the screams of the guy and continued asking. "Remember the cube you gave me? Are there any more of that?" The guy suddenly simmered down. "Cube?" the rest of the technicians turned to him in curiosity. "Yes. You can't remember?" The guy stared blankly into the air. "... Remember the incident where I happened to witness what you did to the new nano-" "Nooooo stop! Stop! Stop! I remember now I remember!" the guy stopped Vivi frantically as he looked around guiltily. "Wha-what about it?" "Oh." Vivi thought for a moment. "That thing may be able to counter the new technology of the AF. Can you create more of that?" "...Huh? You used it? So you know what it does already?" the guy suddenly looked a lot more excited. "How was it? Isn't it cool? It was a coincidence that I discovered the material for it, but the creation was totally my idea! I'm a total genius! Hahahaa!" Everyone in the room was puzzled by all the indigestable content. "Explain what this means Vivi." Jackson asked. "... Well, when the machine was in place, I wasn't able to unleash any of my power at all." Vivi folded her arms and paused. "I am not very sure, but the cube somehow used my power in my place.., or something..." Vivi struggled to find the correct words to describe. "In your place?" Jackson asked. "Argh! Explain it properly you blockhead! It's such an awesome invention!" The short technician yelled in displeasure. "I'll do the explanation!" He coughed and cleared his throat. "Eer-hemmm... Well, this 'cube' is actually made from a very rare material in Nubinelle called the power crystal. It has the ability to resonate with the energy within an ability user. However, it is so rare and only accumulate in small amounts so there is basically no use for it." He then paused for a moment before giving a smug grin, "But, as genius as I am, I've found a way to use it!" "And how did our genius use it?" Jackson asked and the guy's grin widened. "Ah. Well, heh, I've combined the crystal with another crystal called the void crystal. I'm sure you've heard of it. It totally cannot resonate with any energy at all." "how does that work?" Some one in the room asked. "Well, this is a wonderful question! I actually shaped the power crystal in such a way that it refracts the energy so that it will stay in the crystal and the void crystal will act like a vacuum that will store the ene-" "HEY WE CANT UNDERSTAND THAT! JUST EXPLAIN WHAT IT DOES!" Someone yelled and some others boo-ed. "You-you people just can't understand the awesomeness of what I created just by knowing why it does!" more booing and complaints. "Fine fine fine!" the technician surrenderef to the pressure. "To put it simply, the cube is an energy store, which can be released on impact. It's something like an energy battery which stores the ability of a user." "I see. That would be useful. Any limitations?" Jackson continued asking. "Well... It does have a size limit, so unless you can get large amounts of it, it can only store so little energy, Also, if too much energy is stored in there, it would result in too high resonance and break the crystal, which is why I had to include a trigger in the cube to force automatic extraction. The cube will trigger the right amount of energy do that the energy will not exceed the capacity of the crystal. " "I see. I guess that's why I could transfer my ability onto the laser gun even though I couldn't expend energy." vivi commented. "That's right." the technician nodded, to which, Jackson asked. "If I am able to get the materials, would you be able to mass produce? I need this urgently," "If... We have the materials, we can make one cube within a day..." he replied, a little lack of confidence. "Right. Tasha, kindly prepare and import all necessary materials, I'm leaving this up to you, but try not to inform William about it." Jackson ordered. "Oh yes, try and find Sparrow too." Immediately, Tasha ushered the technicians out of the room . "Now let's continue with what we found out about the generator." Jackson continued to speak after the technicians left. "We have analyzed the samples brought back by Vivi and we have found out the true identity of the generator. I want all of you to listen to this." When it seems like most of the people has reached, Jackson decided to start the meeting. "Looks like most of them are here. Anyone saw Sparrow?" he asked. "Don't see her around. It seems like she isn't in her ward." someone answered. "Well then, we can't wait too long. Someone tell her the contents of the meeting later. Let's start." Jackson stood up and spoke, "There is some emergency matters I need to discuss with all of you. I believe Vivi knows about this as well." he turned to look at Vivi. "I believe many of you Have heard the rumour that there is a kind of machine invented that inhibits the power of the ability users... I want to hear your comments about this." The room started to fill with lots of murmurring, but no one made any comment. Jackson then turned towards Vivi and asked, "I'd like to hear from you Vivi." Vivi frowned and then folded her arms before replying. "... You should already know about the details from the 8th battalion already... What do you wish to hear from me?" "Well, I'd like to know what are your views on this?" he replied. Vivi paused, thought for a moment and replied. "It's really a very troublesome device.... However... There is something which I found out from this." Everyone turned silent and all waited for Vivi to respond. Vivi thought for a while and then said, "Find the technician." Jackson raised an eyebrow. "Technician?" someone asked. "What has the technician got to do with the incident?" "Hold it." Jackson stopped everyone from trying to interrupt. He looked at the guy sitting beside him, "Get all the technicians in rebellion here now." ------ :V ---------

It didn't take long before Vivi reached the main meeting room. She pushed the door open and entered. There were already a few people in the room. Everyone stared cautiously at Vivi and had weird expressions when she entered. Either they were surprised to see a child wandering into their important meeting for ability users or they were puzzled by her sense of fashion. "Oh Vivi you're here as well?" Jackson pondered for a moment to figure out who it was under the 'cloak'. Vivi threw him an irritated look and replied, "Am I not supposed to be here?" "No no no... That's not what I meant..." Jackson waved his hands in amusement. "I heard you had it bad during a recent battle and still havent regained consciousness, so I figured... Well anyways its good you've recovered. Take a seat." "Humph." Vivi looked away and walked away from the seats and instead leaned on a wall at the corner of the room. Jackson shrugged and asked "You sure you don't want to sit? It's gonna be long." Vivi again, threw him the unsatisfied look and sat on the floor instead. Despite her attitude towards Jackson, Vivi actually pretty admired Jackson and his capabilities, leadership and his ambition. She probably was just embarrassed to admit that. Another possible reason is, she is at her rebellious age and without a parent, she probably directed all of it to Jackson without realizing it herself. Not before long, most of the important people gathered and Jackson decided to start the meeting.

Vivi stared at the person at the door. She thought she saw him somewhere before. He bowed to Vivi before saying, "Jackson sir asks to pass a message for all ability users to gather in the main meeting room as long as they're conscious." After delivering the message, he bowed again with respect and said with a smile, "That's all for the message. I sincerely hope you get well soon." Vivi again gave the guy silent treatment. After the guy left, Vivi got herself out of bed and plugged out the power charger from her bird. "Charging complete! Charging complete!" the little bird chirped and landed on Vivi's head. Vivi searched around for her jacket but it does not seem to be anywhere in the room. Perhaps they sent it for repair seeing how tattered the cloth is or they may have thrown it away. Looking around, she plucked the white curtain off the window and wrapped it around herself like a cloak and left the room.

Vivi thought about the time she joined the 8th battalion. It reminded her about her brother, and it isn't anything pleasant. In the end, many things happened and she ended up in the rebellion. But in the end she still isn't skilled enough to deal with the armed forces. She quit the battalion to join the rebellion just for the sake of defeating the AF, but it didn't turn out very successful. She can't help but feel frustrated that she wasn't able to do anything. She calmed down a little and sat up on her bed. Then she spotted someone at the door.

"Sakila!" "What's wrong!?" "Ah. You're here as well. The operation is over. " The person, who seemed to be a nurse said solemnly with a frown on her face. Vivi immediately sprang up from her bed and grabbed her. "How was it!? How's Rei!?" The nurse looked a little upset and she was silent. "Tell me!" vivi probed and shook the nurse. The nurse paused for a while before replying, "The boy survived..." Vivi was a little relieved when she heard that he survived and she released the nurse. "But..." the nurse continued, and Vivi tensed up again. "...but...?" She asked. "... Because the impact in his head caused his nerves to get injured, it affected his limbs and processing ability, and also his a biliary to talk properly... " the nurse darted her eyes around uncomfortably, "he may not be able to get out of bed or talk properly for the rest of his life..." Vivi's heart sank. 'No... Rei!' Vivi couldn't imagine the lively little boy to not be able to move around anymore. The boy must be devastated! Thinking of this, vivi jumped out of her bed immediately and rushed out of the room. Sakila didn't stop her and she followed her close behind. The operation light was turned off already and she could see her heavily bandaged brother through the glass window. She immediately dashed into the room to her brother. "Rei..." she called out softly to him from the side. Her brother was breathing properly now and seemed to be asleep. Vivi didn't know what to do except to watch his poor brother lay there. His head, and arms, and body, and legs, are all bandaged up, like an Egyptian mummy. Those wounds will heal, and at most marks of scratches will be left on them, they will look fine, but he may never be able to use them any more. Vivi stood by the side and kept looking at her brother, her eyes started to show signs of anger and frustration. She clenched her fists tight and slammed it through the air before turning around and trying to dash out of the room again, but was stopped by Sakila. "Are you going to look for the armed forces for revenge!?" sakila pushed Vivi back with all her strength. "Don't stop me!" Vivi tried to struggle but she was not strong enough, especially do with her wounds. "I'm going to kill those flies!" "No stop.. You can't do anything with a body like that!" Sakila tried to block some of Vivi's attempts to pass through. Vivi ignored and continued trying to get through. "Vi-vivi! If-if you-ou want to take re-venge...... THEN JOIN US!" Vivo stopped. "Huh?" "I will talk to Brent. I will persuade him. You just need to agree." "Are you joking? You know very well who I am and where I am from." "I know. But I also know that you're definitely not aligned with the armed forces now. You want the elimination of the armed forces right? Then, essentially, our goals are similar. The more allies we have the better for us as well. And think about it, if you join us, you get information on the enemy and you get to use the new equipments here. Vivi didn't care about anything except her brother. Her health isn't all that important. She needed to make sure her brother's safe. However, that girl wouldn't let her. "Listen, I need you to cooperate with me here. I can't help you if you don't. Our healers are currently very busy, but we're trying to contact one for your brother. Let me look at your wounds, okay? Say, you never did tell me your name..." The girl tried to get her to sit down. But how could she?! When she saw how her brother was at the church, she felt like jumping straight at the armed forces and tear out their heart. However, thinking of her brother, she gave up on that thought and brought him back instead. He has to recover no matter what. She will have nothing else on her mind. Vivi ignored Sakila's question but still sat down, with much frustration. The girl made lots of worried expressions when she inspected her wounds but Vivi knew it best herself. Her body hurt like she had a thousand knives stabbed into her and she had no strength in her to continue standing. Moving around and worrying for her brother seemed to help take her mind off it though. Now that she sat down, the pain came back. "You're too reckless. Who would jump into a war zone like that? You're lucky you don't have any bullets drive straight into your head!" lectured the girl. Vivi stayed silent. The girl had stayed in the room to take care of Vivi as Vivi refused to fall asleep. However, She kept talking to her despite her silent treatment. After a couple of hours, just as Vivi was about to fall asleep, someone dashed into the room. "Sakila!"

[Continued recap] The girl returned with a group of people and carrying tons of supplies. "Let's get to the car now!" the girl yelled while fumbling over the items she was carrying. Vivi turned and headed towards the direction where the group was heading. A vehicle drove in, and apparently, it was a jeep (or jeep-like vehicle) instead of a car. Vivi hopped into the moving vehicle, and the rest followed. The girl threw all the baggage into the back of the 'jeep' before jumping in. It was a pretty high-tech vehicle. As soon as all of them jumped in, the top of the jeep started to shut off and ..closed up. Once she's in, the girl stared at Vivi with a look of expectation. "..." Vivi tried to look away. "Help her take a look at her wounds." the girl signalled to a few of her team. They nodded and started tending to Vivi. Vivi had no choice but to comply since she had made a promise, but still felt uncomfortable while they're at it. "By the way..." the girl continued. "My name's Sakila." ------- Fast Forward -------- Not before long, they reached the borders of district 4. Some were trying to escape and some were trying to find out what happened. Suddenly, a few battalions came running up to them. "It's terrible! Terrible!" the battalion soldier reported. "What happened?!" Sakila questioned the soldier. "A-A kid attacked the armed forces soldiers and... and the-they..." the soldier hesitated. Vivi raised an eyebrow. "... and now our forces are fighting against the armed forces and trying to push them back..." "Bring us there immediately!" Sakila ordered. She sensed that Vivi was desperate. "Yes sir! This way!" the soldier then ran towards the direction of the church and the crew followed. As the sounds of gunshots approached, the entire battle field came to view. The armed forces and the battalions were fighting each other out and the entire situation was chaotic. "Where's the kid?" Sakila asked and the soldier pointed to the direction of the church where the battle is the most intense. Before they could react, Vivi jumped straight out of the moving jeep and ran straight into the war zone. "No wait!" Sakila cried after her before turning to her crew. "Everyone, open up a path for her!" Vivi could see the silhouette of the kid lying on the ground. A lady was holding on to him but she wasn't doing anything. "Please..." Vivi prayed as she got closer. Bullets scrapped past her and enemies infront of her were shot down by the girl's crew. She finally got close enough to see the kid. Her face darkened as she saw the boy. His head and limbs were bleeding profusely and he's struggling to breathe properly. Immediately, Vivi dashed over to the boy. "Rei!" "Oh no..." Sakila gasped. "Everyone! We're going to cover her. First priority is to get the boy out for treatment! Doctors standby!" The woman who was with the boy was a little surprised by Vivi's entrance, but she immediately knew what to do. She carried the boy up gently and together with some reinforcements that Sakila sent in, they made their way out of the fight zone. ===== EDITED: :V By the way... can we continue with the main storyline already? :V
