I personally think either Vermouth was the guinea pig for APTX4869... Also, when Shiho's mother in the tapes says "I'm really..." I think she was going to say "I'm really not your mother." She wouldn't be able to tell her this when she was a child. I think Vermouth is perhaps her real mother. Vermouth is also American, she was in America for quite a while too. So, that's my crazy theory of her being Vermouth's daughter. Maybe Gin's the father...
