Above is the official announcement for movie 18, due to come out April 2014 as expected. This is just taken from the top portion of the "Lupin the Third vs Detective Conan: The Movie" announcement from Shounen Sunday. This post will be updated as more news comes in, most likely much later this year. Until then, feel free to post speculations and personal opinions, especially considering the producers now have two movies to juggle.

A Shounen Sunday leak yesterday and the preview at the end of Movie 17 today both announced that a new crossover movie of Lupin the Third and Detective Conan will come to theaters December 7th of this year. It will feature an all-original plot. Official movie website: http://lupicona-movie.com/

File 854 is now out as well. Manga discussions have been slow if not nonexistent, though I'll admit I myself am not helping the situation. The bartender is really pretty, I'll say that.

The Main Theme (Private Eye in the Distant Sea Version, of course) has been uploaded to YouTube.

The new opening for the series has been announced and will be performed by none other than DC theme veteran B'z! It will be entitled "Q&A" (I'm sure the thread title resulted in at least some minor confusion) and is part of a massive album called The Best XXV 1999-2012 that will be available on June 12, 2013. The opening will air on May 4th, though no episode title or summary for that day has been made public yet. However, as we close in on the [warning major manga spoiler here-->] Mystery Train arc, it's highly likely the opening will start when that arc does. After the unfortunate disbanding of Garnet Crow, I'm glad DC is falling back on familiar bands for now. I just hope they find some more better replacements as soon as possible. I've been a Garnet Crow fanboy for such a long time and it's sad to see them go. They were and will always be my favorite Detective Conan band, and I wish all of them luck in the future. Wow, this is really sad. DC hasn't been bringing in very good bands and singers recently for their theme songs, and even Mai Kuraki had a very sub-par single for the current opening. Now that GC is pretty much out of the picture (we may have a last second OP or movie theme down the road), I don't know how things will turn out in the future. I should have seen it coming. Their recent concerts and albums were so symbolic.

Sorry, but that's the best you'll get. The song was originally a trio, so the "instrumental" removed the main line (Zard's part) but kept the accompaniment (Aya's and Morishita's part). You could try using Audacity or something like that to mute as much of the background singing as you can, if you're good with that stuff. Other than that, you're out of luck. Oh, and welcome to DCW!

The official website (http://www.conan-movie.jp/index.html) has been revamped with a whole new design and format! Mainly things seen in previous announcements and trailers, though for those interested a better image of the silenced gun from the 90 second trailer is available and there's now also a list of suspects.

DCTP is unfortunately now out of the question for English subs. Hubuki Subs seems to be doing a pretty good job with the episodes, so maybe they'll still be around for next October's DVD release. They're small and only just started when DCTP announced they would terminate subbing anime episodes. Unfortunately, because they're new, their subs aren't perfect but I'm sure they'll improve over time. If you want to keep up to date with their releases, their blogspot is the best option and also the easiest place to find their videos --> http://hubuki.blogspot.com/ I'm not completely familiar with non-English subs, but to my knowledge MCT-Fansubs is reliable for Arabic subs and is still active.

I'm really not impressed by the 90 second trailer, as I had hoped I would be unfortunately. Things I noticed off the top of my head (might go back and do a thorough rewatch when I have time): If my expectations are low, I guess I might be pleasantly surprised like with movie 16.
