Well, in the manga, the Earth Ladies was definitely starring Yoko, not Shinichi's mom and yes it was a fake nail, but the victim didn't die.

It's not connected to any series nor is it in any way similar to DC - but have you tried Demon City Shinjuku? While it isn't my usual type of thing, I found that I enjoyed that movie - so much that I bought it on VHS tape and watch it over and over.

My favorites are Countdown to Heaven and The Raven Chaser - though like many of us here, I do love them all...

Bad Company - the Remake by Five Finger Death Punch - but I prefer the original.

Actually, I did mean Movie 1, not 11 - though not exactly the same, just very similar - at the end of Movie 1, Conan is outside of the bombed Tower with Ran (and the crowd & the ambulances, etc...) and she hasn't seen him all day, doesn't know what he was up to and probably (if she thought about it at all, what with her excitement about a date with Shinichi) believed he spent the day safely at home or with the other kids - but there he stood, all dirty, scratched up, even bandaged but all Ran was concerned with was "where's Shinichi?" She didn't even seem to see there was anything 'wrong' with Conan. Other than the location/personnel difference, 14 was kind of the same - just amplified by the fact that all his 'friends' were the same apparent unconcerned.

While some may hate the way the English dubbing sounds, consider that the DVDs do also offer Japanese stereo with Subtitles - I myself have managed to purchase all of Season 1 - 4 (the 2nd half of season 2 & all of 3 & 4 as boxed sets)plus the first 4 movies - though sadly, it seems like the place I've been getting them has lately been paring down it's anime stock. And yes - boxed sets are the way to go since Funimation was dumb enough (after they released the first half of "uncut" season two) to release episodes in smaller DVDs (only 3 episodes each) that had inferior dubbing & such.

I watched Movie 14 and I really enjoyed, too - although the end seemed to be missing a bit of what would normally seem to be honest concern - not a big problem really, Movie 1 was the same way (just a little less, though)

I really like looking at the Detective Conan pictures on Photobucket and found one where Ayumi is looking at Conan, who is laying on the floor either asleep or unconscious. They appear to be wearing the same (or a very similar) outfit. I don't recall seeing this scene on any of the first 4 seasons or first 4 movies (sadly all that I own DVD wise) and I also don't remember it from the several episodes I've watched online - so I was wondering if anyone could tell me which episode or movie it comes from?
