Mmm I wouldn't call it an addiction, more or less an intent interest. However, I do believe I started watching it at midnight on Adult Swim when it first began airing. I can't recall the first episode I watched, nor whether or not I had actually seen the first episode or just later ones at the time. Unfortunately, I stopped watching it for a few years until this year when I noticed on the Funimation on demand there were episodes (and movies--yey!) of Case Closed. I continued to watch them, then got my younger cousins interested as well, then started ordering movies (mom wasn't happy about the bill, ha). After that, I tried to find a decent place for dubbed versions, but since I knew sites better with the subbed versions, I decided to follow that. A friend told me I should read the mangas of things as well, so I also started working on reading the manga (so-o long, not even breached it yet), and thus, I went on with all three -- Case Closed, Detective Conan manga, and Detective Conan anime/movies. And here I am today. The effect has been quite nice. I'm steadily trying to solve mysteries, both on the series and when I'm not consumed in them (around the house, outside of it, etc.). I've been interested in CSI and other things of that sort before, so it's been quite the easy step from one to the other and so on. I've always adored action and suspense, and now the mystery genre is just as interesting. And yes, watching the series and reading the manga really does kill time--that could be used more wisely (like now.. at twelve in the night). Worth it, for now at least.

That's my favorite quote too. Haha, what a brilliant mind. In fact, that quote is shown more through the series with Vermouth. It's quite interesting how that seems to change her perspective on him, and it ends up saving his life by her doing, despite he had no clue it was her he was talking to--and it was in the past.

Haha, couldn't be Richard--The BO tried to kill him once and suspected him of planting the transmitter on Rena's shoe. But Agasa--that would be an interesting twist. It's technically impossible (based on his actions, as well as things that have been mentioned), but it would be interesting. @Ran Mouri and Shinichi: On the point of Agasa telling Vermouth, that's not really possible. She figured that out on her own, haha. After having photos of him for comparison, seeing him work on cases, as well as noticing his un child-like actions, she concluded that it was in fact Shinichi. Before/After she found that out, she remembered Shinichi from the New York Case, in which he and Ran saved her life (she was under disguise). I think that it's probably someone that we've never seen in the series before--maybe some fat kingpin or something of the sort. Whomever it is must like power, money, and is probably elderly (why else would there be so many things relating to age within the series? Vermouth's 'impossible' youth, the 'poison' that turns people young--despite it's not meant for that). On top of that, he's probably some mastermind genius as well (I mean, see how smart Gin and Vermouth are! If he's above them, then he's gotta be extra smooth). Thought I'd give my twenty cents on the matter~

Haha, I agree mostly with those listed reasons. ]: I started watching the subbed versions a lot more than what little I can in dubs, and I found that I don't really care much for Conan's English voice--it's kind of.. annoying (for lack of better term). The Japanese voice actors/actresses are marvelously chosen, and on the subject of the name changes, I quite prefer the traditional Japanese names -- they're Japanese people in Japan -- and the inserts of kanji that the English version just doesn't work with. It is a shame that it's not all been translated to the dubs either way. My little cousins just love Case Closed (they don't know it by Detective Conan), and they're a bit young to be able to follow subscripts so easily, so they couldn't watch the Japanese version if they could. One of the only downsides (save for the lazy days when I myself don't feel like reading subs).

Technically, Ran's 'figured out' many times, but then was usually proved 'wrong' when she sees Shinichi after a drink (ha) or after Ai gives him the reversal med. As Antiyonder stated, she only lacks evidence to really be positive. In fact, in one episode, she says to Conan that she thought he was Shinichi who had to be shrunk by one of Agasa's inventions because he got into a bad case, and as Heiji states, she was simply waiting for Shinichi to tell her the truth and wasn't going to say it herself. So I doubt she'd ever force him to say it, despite all of her suspicions.

Your thoughts are quite well rounded when you post them on the forums. Quite interesting, quite interesting.
You are interesting. Hohoho

I certainly wouldn't go far as "love" his character. He can be quite overconfident sometimes, haha. I like how he can effortlessly disguise himself almost flawlessly (despite he is normally found out by Shinichi) and pull off 'magic' tricks that fool most everyone into thinking he's some magical magician. More or less, I like his skill in trickery. Other than that, I like how he can challenge Shinichi and match wits with him on most occasions the fact that he has morals (like not to kill and to return what he's stolen) and often thieves to test himself against Shinichi or help Shinichi in a case (sometimes even ending up saving a life in the process). It's quite interesting to see their rivalry, which adds to the tension and suspense and action within the series. He also has a reason to do what he's doing (trying to find that jewel)--good character development. Haha, I have no simple reasons for liking his character such as "he's so cute" or "he's awesome".

After the end of the Black Organization
Aka Peiji replied to Ran Mouri and Shinichi's topic in General
Mmm, seems like a happy ending in that case. I'm pretty sure that most of the Black Organization won't go down without a fight. In fact, they'll probably end up taking important characters (maybe even Shinichi or Ran or Ai) with them. If any of them get caught, they'll probably commit suicide (as some have done before to escape their fate). Otherwise, yeah, Gin and Vodka might go into hiding (most likely, Vermouth will be with them -- or rather, escaping too). It's a suspense/murder/mystery anime, I doubt it will be all cheers at the end. Your theory seems pretty reasonable though. Let's see how many episodes it takes before they're all taken down (or otherwise). -
So much variety in living spaces, haha. I live in the United States [of America], in the southern state of Mississippi. I live at the north-most end, and it's quite nice during the summer--save for all of the mosquitos. Always willing to move off.

@Xevar: Thank you for the pleasant greeting. I also hope we can get along nicely, it'll be good to get to know people around here. Oh, and I like to make a good introduction. What good is just a "Hey, I'm new here," when you know nothing about the person? :3 @monsipogi809203: Thanks! I hope it wasn't too long, haha. I'm glad to be here, and I hope I will have a good time, thanks!

I drew this on iScribble--but I got lazy in editing out the other two images, so you have some art not from Detective Conan in there as well as a piece from someone else's work~ Sesshomaru, the dog demon from Inuyasha, Kaitou Kid from Detective Conan (duh), and Ling from Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood

Would the "special" kind of pencil be the ... ? Haha, Phantom Thief, right.

Lol, no, Gin never did see Conan's face, in fact, he didn't even say "boy", so he was once again, clueless. [: I'm actually quite pleased at the movie, it's my favorite out of the ones I've seen (which has been most). I really liked the action, suspense, and overall mystery of this one, and the ending was sublime. It was a pity that Irish had to go though, it seemed like he'd be another good addition to the series, like Vermouth, in the subject that he would know Conan's identity but wouldn't hold back. Another impressive movie, but I must say, the beginning was actually my favorite part ('cause I just adore the scenes that are so tense like that). I didn't think it was really happening in the first place, but if Gin and Vodka had known.. that would have been the ultimate (if not confusing) twist, haha. In fact, I think I'll watch the movie again another time, just to relive the experience and the awesomeness that makes that movie and the series never get old.

Oi, oi, oi! Aka Peiji here, to all who know some Japanese (I do, though not nearly enough, hahahastopped studying it for a while), that will give you my name ;3 Though to those that don't, you may just call me Peiji. Nice to be here, nice to be here. Oddly enough, I've been visiting this site for my Detective Conan information for a few weeks now as I've gained more time for watching my tie-for-favorite anime--Detective Conan. Though I've only watched about a fourth of the episodes, read even less of the manga, and watched only half of the movies (a lot to read and watch, yo), I still find myself an addicted fan to this suspenseful mystery-action anime. Unfortunately, I'm only at the tip of this marvelous iceburg, and haven't even watched all of the OVAs yet (how sad!). During my watching, I skip around episodes to ones that interest me most, then I go and back-track, then jump forwards again. During my watching and reading, I'm always trying to solve the mysteries or point out something interesting (just for fun), though I usually only can find the next clue--not piece it all together as easily as Shinichi. Despite that, I do plan on reading up on my Sherlock Holmes(seems promising) and what's more, watching more Detective Conan! My interests within the anime mainly revolve around cases with the Black Organization, other high school detectives (i.e. Heiji Hattori), and Kaitou Kid. My favorite characters would have to be the main character himself, Conan/Shinichi (since he's one of the most clever, yet humorous, characters), Gin (since he's just as clever as Shinichi, and hey, a baddie!), and Kaitou Kid (whom is, of course, the master thief that can always avoid capture, even by Shinichi). Since I'm a realist, I always prefer the Canon pairings, since they usually make the most sense, and any shipping/fan-pairs would be just fantasies (likely). Mmm I don't really have many favorites among the episodes, but I must say that I have The Raven Chaser and The Magician of the Silver Sky as my two favorite movies. What's more, if I had to choose a few episodes to summarize favorites of what I've watched, they would be: Episode 43, Conan Edogawa Kidnapping Case; Episode 129, The Girl from the Black Organization and the University Professor Murder Case; Episode 178, Reunion with the Black Organization (Resolution); Episode 193, The Desperate Revival (The Promised Place); Episode 311, Contact with the Black Organization (Desperation Chapter); Episode 425, Black Impact! (The Moment the Black Organization Reaches Out); and Episode 515, Kaitou Kid's Teleportation Magic; Episode 538, Kaitou Kid vs. the Strongest Safe. Though a lot of other episodes were just as good, haha. Lastly, I must say it's unfortunate that the English dubs don't come out like they used to, but maybe that's a good thing anyways. I found that I like the original voices (in most cases) much better than the English actors/actresses. Despite that, I still plan on buying the series (eventually) and watching both subbed and dubbed versions. And just for you lot to know, I'm just about to cross over into eighteen years of age, so I'm not some little scrabbling fan-girl, I'm a well-rounded (imo) individual that is completely drawn into this series just for the suspense and interest. To those who wish to comment and chat: O genki desu ka? :3 Keep watching and solving mysteries--because one truth always prevails! Oh, and here's a little fun-fact for you lot that don't already know or that are "newbies" to the series: Shinichi means "one truth" --suiting, wouldn't you think?
