  1. Am I correct in presuming Hyoue didn't kill the previous number two on purpose? Or do you think otherwise? Police in DC go for capture, not kill (unless you think Hyoue was like Takeda, from the Woodpecker Case, who killed two suspects). What about ASACA RUM? If Koji's hint means that Asaka is Rum, then how does that fit your theory? Was Taka'aki able to become Amanda's bodyguard at 18? I presume this would mean he would've been gone from Japan for an extended period—maybe this'll eventually come up. Do you think if Taka'aki is Rum, he simply doesn't care about the knowledge that Kogoro Mouri has been made into a great detective by Conan Edogawa (and that there is such a smart child who looks just like Shinichi Kudo)? The same Kogoro Mouri who was nearly sniped by Chianti and Korn on Gin's orders after being suspected of bugging Hidemi/Rena/Kir and working with the FBI? Has Taka'aki, if he's Rum, not told "that person" or anyone else in the BO about this? And this was because Gosho said in an interview that we can ignore them, right? I presume that, back when he originally wrote the story for that case, Gosho wanted us to think that these two were Vermouth and Calvados (at least after reading 425, in terms of the latter), but they'd then be revealed as Fusae and Billy during the Halloween Party Case or in the subsequent case. Technically, it's "rumored," like you said, since it was never confirmed in the manga who these two were, but who else could these two be but Fusae and Billy.
  2. And I was just responding to your post—I held no assumptions, either way. Same goes for my response to this: We don't know if Vermouth is fully American, or if she has a Japanese parent, like Akemi and Shiho did—her being involved in the Japanese-based BO would make more sense (IMO) if she had a Japanese parent/Japanese heritage. Minerva is half-British and half-German—plus, the characters in Holmes' Revelation strike me as one-timers, who may not even be mentioned again, outside of situations where Holmes' Revelation is referenced. She's also too young to be Rum. Fusae is old enough, but given that Gosho hinted that she and Billy were in the FBI, her odds of being in the BO go down immediately (yes, Gosho said we can ignore them in an interview, but that, in itself, means they're likely not to play a major role, going forward, and I doubt that Gosho would turn Shuichi's subordinate into Rum). Hopefully, next Nagano case, Shiho/Ai will appear... that should help to make things clearer, in regards to this possibility.
  3. I'd say we're more talking about her life in general, after the climax with the BO.
  4. Mary is as much of a Rum red herring as Hyoue is. Sakurako way too young to be Rum, and I don't think Gosho's going to have Rum replace her like Vermouth replaced Tomoaki—instead, I think, she's going to be a character connected to Rum. Maybe she'll end up employed by Rum, or was once employed by Rum. As for Elena, if she was Rum, would she really tell Rei/Tooru what she told him in that flashback from The Tense Tea Party (888–890/770–771) about how he shouldn't be fighting. Then there's the question of her apparent death in that fire—why would she fake it? Why didn't she ensure that Akemi was made into an assassin who would've become a codenamed member?
  5. As Chekhov said: Just because you wouldn't doesn't mean she wouldn't.
  6. 957 Spoiler Pics are out: http://tieba.baidu.com/p/4489113649 EDIT: 957 is out: http://tieba.baidu.com/p/4489644409
  7. So we're either looking at a Shinichi's First Case/Aquarium Murder-esque flashback, a Heiji case, or a case with Saguru (and perhaps Kid). EDIT (Crossposting this from DCTP):
  8. And you don't mean the meeting Masumi flashback, I take it? You don't think we're getting it as soon as next week (or in two, if we have a break next week), right?
  9. While some screenshots and the teaser for Movie 21 (Next year's movie) may come out within a month or so, we'll be lucky to get a disc quality copy of the film by October—that's the way it's been for a while, in terms of DC movies. Japan's anti-piracy laws are stronger than most, I believe, so you're unlikely to even find low-quality camcorder versions of Movie 20.
  10. So what do you think he meant by, "There's a fake in Volume 18?"
  11. Shinichi is 17 in the anime. In the manga, he and Ran are 16. Speak for yourself.
  12. Wasn't questioning his death—was questioning what, exactly, it'll lead to. I think it'll play a role (along with the other pieces) in ultimately finding out who Rum is, but the deciding factor (especially on its own)? I don't think so. "Red herring" was a translation of what he said, right? "Fake" was what he actually said, during that Q&A session, correct?

  14. Gosho did say there was a red herring in Volume 18... do you think it could be anything else but Koji's name on the APTX list? You mean Hado's song? The title and timing depends on what Gosho will have in store for us with 957. I can see it being just a coincidence, but I can also see there being a plot-related trigger. In any case, how many of you are expecting a continuation of this (effectively) non-stop plot run of cases since 2016 started in 958? I'd be very surprised.
  15. Read Chapter 20, just now—like the early series callback. Gotta admit, you got me, at that moment.
  16. And then there's that (my comment there, was mainly about the tense Silverbullet96 used).
  17. Isn't that what she and Shinichi/Conan have been doing for pretty much the entire series?
  18. What are you suggesting? That someone has replaced Wataru? Besides Vermouth (and I severely doubt she involved another Organization member, with Ran and Shinichi/Conan in close proximity), who could do that but Kid? And why would Kid do that? You know, he could just be reacting to the fact that the victim wrote, "I'm sorry." By the way, how come 957 is listed as the final file, in the thread title? Is it just assumed that the next file will be the last one of this case? It's a reasonable assumption, I'd say.
  19. Thing is, she hasn't really "felt" the aura since Mystery Train, and it was even thicker than usual—and this was well after she refused the witness protection program. Point is, I'm hesitant to claim that her BO sense has "dulled," as of File 850–File 852 or File 918–File 920.
  20. Gotta always remind myself how much of a force DC has been in Japan—it's pretty impressive for a 22 year old manga.
