  1. Hex cursed under her breath and kicked out the door to the outside. Ignoring her first steps into sunlight she dragged the swift a few yards and knelt on the sidewalk. She took the waterskin from her pocket, unscrewing the cap, then set Lionel down gently and profferred the drink. "'ere, drink up." She glanced back at the building, urging him to drink the water. 'I have to get back in there an' save Vivi, Sakila an' Xero! ' Or, her mind suggested, you could get in the control room, destroy it, and shut the building down. It would disarm any security measures and prevent this collapse you heard about. You could save everyone at once. And your regeneration would keep you safe. You can't die. 'Yes, but who knows how long it would take to heal. It's painful and could take weeks. And if no one knew where I was I'd have to dig my way out once it healed. It's risky. I wouldn't make it out in time to save the others if the labcoats attacked with their own weapons... But it may be worth it.' "'ey, Lion? You be okay 'ere if I head back in an' take care o' some stuff?" she asked, trying not to let worry touch her voice.
  2. Hex had ducked out of sight when Jae appeared amidst the destruction and chaos, watching the man as he tended to the swift. She was puzzled by his apparent change since she'd last confronted him, and waited until he was out of sight before kneeling next to Lionel. "Hey..." She shook his shoulder, wishing her blood could transfer her regenerative power instead of toxicity. "Lionel, you a'right?" His side looked okay though, and it appeared that he'd been given first aid. Frankencoat? Her ears perked up at the sound of voices: "THIS IS THE POLICE! WE HAVE YOU SURROUNDED!" In a minute there was another voice from a few rooms away: "Release the security measures and destroy everything." "Shit!" She grabbed Lionel and dragged him up, hauling him out of the room and toward where she believed was an exit. No one else from that room was alive, and she cursed again under her breath. She'd have to get him out, then come back for the others.
  3. WATCH THIS: I died twice watching xDD Mephisto is amazing in it~
  4. Hex listened... there was nothing. No one was out in the habitat. It was eerily quiet with not even the breaths of experiments to hear. She ducked out of her hiding place, assuming all the labcoats were in the place they were keeping the other experiments. Xero, Lionel, Vivi, Sakila... I'll find you guys... She sprinted across the habitat, testing the doors and vents for an insecure area she could use. Finally, after running the circuit twice, she gave up on simplicity and tore the cover of a vent from the wall, screws and all. Reattaching it roughly as she climbed in, she squeezed through and into a maze of air conditioning ventilation. Hex crawled on hands and knees for roughly 30 minutes before she found herself at the entrance to a ground level vent in a room from which she heard the sounds of experiments, huddled in cages, some frightened and some rebellious. There were no labcoats within several minutes of walking, and she didn't sense more than lingering discord either, so there didn't appear to be a reason for them to come back. In fact, it sounded and smelled like one had just left. As quietly as she could, the grey wolf removed the cover, laying it down so that she could easily duck in and close it if she was found out. She crawled out and stood, stretching her cramped limbs and wagging her tail a bit. Tiptoeing over to the cages, she looked into each one carefully. Only a few appeared to be inhabited, but she quickly found one of the ones she was looking for. She had planned on mapping out in her mind where each experiment was and finding a way to release all of them. But if she could find the doors that led outside and incapacitate the labcoats for a time... she could traffic them out and into the world they wanted. She smiled and tapped her index finger on a bar of the cage. "Hey... Lionel!" she whisper-shouted. "You okay?" ((Vivi's out, Sakila's out, I don't recall who controls Xero... not much choice of people to find is there? xD He needs more interaction anyway~ I hope Al can respond as Lionel))
  5. I have nothing new to add. @ @
  6. I'm hungry _ _ Want to do some voice demos or music dubbing, but can't think of what to do.... Borrrrred~
  7. Hex bit her lip as she heard the sound of another jeep starting at the edge of the habitat, likely the cleanup crew for the mess the fight had made. She ducked into a clear forest area and started running, skirting around the edge of the wood and listening closely so she wouldn't be surprised by the appearance of labcoats. The girl took a deep breath and looked back after a few minutes; There was no trace that she'd come through, and no sign of cameras or people in this area. Hunkering down within a tree's twisted roots she hid in the hollow she'd made months ago, moving the outer bark before her so that she was effectively invisible. Now began the observation. She listened as hard as she could for the sounds of the people of the habitat, experiment and labcoat, noting where they were going and what they said. Now she knew where a group of the experiments would be taken... She just had to wait for an opportunity to go there and break them out. If she could enhance what mutation she had, her immunity and regeneration would make her nearly invincible... but she didn't know if she would have control of herself.
  8. Hex felt clumsy and out of place in the battle, as she was the only experiment who couldn't fully turn. She cursed her failed mutation and sent a roundhouse kick at a scientist, chomping down on the arm of another and grabbing it to throw them into a third. As the gas leaked into the room, Hex sighed. Both experiments and labcoats were dropping to the ground... But she was immune to poisons and chemicals. Hex redoubled her efforts, bringing down a few scientists before it appeared that they'd all been knocked out by either the gas or experiments... But all the experiments were out too. She hesitated, wondering what course of action she should take..She could hide and see what the labcoats' plan was, or stay and help few of the others get away. ((Misaki, I don't know if you want all the experiments captured at this point. Should she be left behind and hide or end up dragged off somehow? I forgot before the gas wouldn't affect her...))
  9. Hex's ears were standing up straight, and she had gone from staring at the ground lost in her depressing memories to scanning the horizon like a sentry. "This isn't good..." She glanced at Sakila, adding, "That labcoat from earlier... he took Vivi and did his experiment. Now that it's succeeded... It makes no sense." "What does?" Sakila asked. Hex's cryptic partial sentences weren't very clear. Hex looked at the girl, worry in her normally blank grey eyes. "Why is he sending the jeeps here?"
  10. (Mkay, so creeperstein's ordered his goons after the experiments. I guess if they're mobile, it's time to rally the troops. When you guys are done talking with Xero about Lily, I'll pop in to tell you they're coming. Since Hex has the best hearing, she'll sense it from when the jeeps start. ))
  11. ((Hm, not much action, so I'll put in backstory about Hex in the Habitat)) Hex sat alone, staring at the ground and thinking. She hated the labcoats. She hated what they were doing, hated their lack of compassion for any of the people they'd toyed with and hurt for their ambitions, hated what they'd put Vi through and hated that no one outside was doing anything to find out where all the missing had gone, to research and find out what the company was doing. She also hated herself for lying to Lionel and Xero about her name. She could never tell them that it was a labcoat who had given her that name, who was kind to her in the four years between her arrival as Hildegarde and that labcoat's death... She hated the labcoats for what they'd done when Hex's mutation didn't take.No matter what medicines could do to reverse her genetic changes, what they'd done could never be fixed... She sat there in silence, remembering the years of isolation in the labs as she'd been tested. 'Bite down on this so we can gauge your jaw strength,' a woman said politely, a sensor in one hand and a taser gun in the other. Her labcoat was there, adding in a whisper, 'If you do better than last time I'll sneak you a treat later.' 'Here ninety-three, catch these rodents for us while we time you,' a man suggested jovially, buckling a shock collar around her neck. Again that labcoat was present, saying nothing but winking and deactivating the highest setting of the collar. Always they acted like you were a patient at a doctor's office, just taking a few tests to see what was wrong with you, while they were truly despising what they'd created as below them. And then the day came when Hex went in for another endurance test, and there was no kindness. No hope of a word not spoken in venomous tones or a pat on the head as she beat her last numbers and was allowed to leave. According to the man who put her in a miniature environment for a game of cat and mouse, her labcoat had been 'removed' from the company for fraternizing with the experiments. Tears of hate and loss had streaked her bloodied face as she ran through the mini habitat, pursued by three labcoats and their weapons. In the two years since that day she had almost never spoken, especially not to the labcoats, who she rebelled against at every chance, and she had not once cried. But now, remembering losing her only friend, and herself, for nothing more than the petty satisfaction of the so-called scientists who'd created a hundred 'successful' mutated experiments, she found herself brushing tear from her eyes with the back of her hand. She'd heard about the jailbreak, and she wanted to help, but she feared she was truly defective as an experiment. As her tail had grown out the labcoats had marveled at the bone structure as she lay twisted in pain in a cage. When her hair had turned silver and her new ears had been added through many grafts and forced continued mutation, they had applauded their success. They were fascinated by her long canines, her muscle mass, the morphing of the color in her irises, the flexibility of her spine and tail... But her mutation would go no further despite the attempts at egging on her cells. It turns out that her labcoat had been slipping her supplements of the very drugs they'd been trying to mutate her cells with. She'd had four years as they were busy testing and prodding to build up an immunity to their toxins. Hex also had become immune to poisons, as they'd tested with snake, spider, and jellyfish venoms, rat poisons, and injections of household chemicals. When she figured out what had happened, she thought they'd kill her, but they just sighed and shook their heads. They'd tried again, with x-rays detailing her almost totally human bone structure and chemical tests. Out of habit she touched the scars on the sides of her head, trying to remember her human ears. The mutation wasn't taking care of them, and despite grafts, her new ones were coming along too slowly for the labcoats liking. So they'd cut them off with a scalpel, taking the flesh for DNA analysis and leaving her deaf and bleeding in her miniature habitat hell. It had taken a month of fearful silence, painful healing, and steady mutation before she heard another word, the first ringing in her new ears... 'Ninety-three.' Because that had worked so well, the coats wondered if it would do for another body part. So a month later they'd next removed two toes from her right foot. But there was nothing but pain and hatred in her any longer. There were no sedatives, no drugs to mask the pain, no help to stop the bleeding or aid her in moving about. Even with the higher doses of mutagens, no wolf attributes emerged. After the wounds had healed, she'd had intense pain for a week... and her toes had grown back. Some combination of the drugs, mutagens, poisons, animal genetics, and pain had borne fruit. But why? Wouldn't a lizard mutation have a higher chance of something like that? She almost wished they'd done that sooner, so that her human ears could have grown back. The labcoats patted themselves on the back and harvested DNA to test the regeneration on something else, but her genetic code was destructive, and killed anything it was introduced to... Hex feared that the labcoats had used it on her friend. After another attempt at mutating a new experiment with her blood went awry and ended in the deaths of the experiment and a labcoat, her DNA was taken for study in the lab. They'd drawn blood more times in the past two years than they had in the previous four while she was in her various stages of animal mutation. But now she wasn't human, or wolf. She was afraid of herself. Of what would be done with her now. Hex pulled away from her memories, putting her head on her knees and wishing she was more useful to the other experiments. But she had nothing but brute strength, pain and hatred on her side. She sighed and stared at the ground again, almost wishing also that she had someone to talk to.
  12. "I say we take care of it, Xero, Lionel" Hex smiled, showing her fangs. "Funny name for a bird~" She looked up at the false sun. "I'm also anxious to see the true world. This environment is fake. Even the sun is cold..." She thought to herself for a minute, scratching the scars under the sides of her short hair. "I guess you can know my name too. It's Hex... Well, not really. Another experiment gave me that nickname so I could be a hex to the labcoats... One I intend to avenge." She blinked, scratching her ear. "Sorry, tangent... It's uh... Hildegarde, actually." She glanced at the form coming closer, but didn't join the crowd that milled around Vivi. She killed the other experiment, she realized. Hex stayed back as the girl ignored the others and fell asleep. What happens if she becomes a pawn to the labcoats...?
  13. Hex rubbed her neck in annoyance as the labcoats drove off with Vivi. She didn't retaliate when she'd been struck, and it had taken all of her willpower not to. There were too many there to deal with without endangering Vivi... and she wasn't about to let the girl be hurt further. Cracking her back and glancing at the swift who had retaliated at Jae, one of the labcoats she despised, she listened to the experiment's conversation. "Hey, Vi's strong. If I know her, she'll win... but the other one. Can we let him or her be killed? If we allow them to pit Vivi against their failures, they'll just keep using her..." Her ears flattened against her head and she clenched her fists by her sides. "How dare those bastards call US inhuman. The only monsters I've seen are the ones doing all this to children!" She growled under her breath and glared at the ground. "Someone's got to stop this before it gets even worse..." She looked up at Lionel. "What's your name?"
  14. I wonder how long before I break down and watch movie 17 raw... _ _

  15. Hex stood outside Xero's den, listening to the conversation the other experiments were having. I knew Vi was being targeted... Her ears perked up at the sound of a jeep coming near. Shit... She dove into a bush beside the path, watching with annoyed grey eyes as Vivi was summoned to the vehicle. No... They can't test that shit on her! It doesn't work, dammit! The wolf stood and walked beside Vivi, who took no visible notice of her. "Oi, labcoat-creeps! Whattaya think you're doin' with her? Are we gonna have problems? Cause if you think you're gonna test "The Experiment" on her, you'll have to tranquilize me again, or I'll start acting like the monster you made me." She snarled at the scientists, her ears down and her tail up in a gesture of challenge.
  16. My sister just got into this. Tom Kenny is my main reason for watching. I love Ice King and Marcelline... And I found out it was based on the Dungeons and Dragons adventures the writers wanted to do while they were busy writing xD I used to avoid it like the plague because it was super-hyped up and I assumed it was as trippy as The Regular Show. But it's pretty good for a kids' cartoon.
  17. Hex walked back to her napping spot, stomping down the mutated grass to squash it and clear a space to lay. She curled up and lay there with her eyes open, touching the scars on the sides of her head. She couldn't fall asleep.
  18. Hex started awake as she heard a light clanking. She glanced at Vivi, who was now awake. "Mind your own business," the girl said, walking away. Hex watched for a minute, her ears flattened against her head, as the bird guy followed her. Then she sighed and stood, stretching and shoving her hands in her pockets. She followed silently for a bit behind them, knowing they'd likely noticed her there. She heard the swift say a few things to her, heard mention of a name. But she'd only followed for one reason. "I helped you because you needed it, Vi. Don't push away aid from those who would give it. There are not many here who would offer it." She scratched her ear, then stopped and stared at her hand, remembering what had happened to her human ears, why her hair had grown over where they had been and she let it get no longer... "Look, next time they call you in for a test, tell them ninety three's observing you. They'll understand." They'd better. It had been a while since she'd seen an experiment that battered. She remembered her own treatment, and how she'd been dodging tests in the habitat for weeks on end after springing a cat from the lab and 'removing' some dangerous chemicals they'd been using on her... "But whatever, if you want me out of your business, I'm gone." She turned and walked away, leaving the birds to their devices, though she did glance back worriedly at the small girl. "I'll just have to play with the labcoats new toys now..."
  19. She'd been curled up, napping in the tall grass near the 'stream' of the habitat, when she began to hear hushed whispers. Hex folded her hands over her fluffy ears, pressing them against her short grey hair. Probably a ways off and still troublesome. Her hearing was so sensitive that she tended to stay away from groups of other experiments, especially when they got to talking, or worse, squawking... She shivered a bit and stretched up on all fours before standing and glancing in the direction of the voices. It didn't sound like they were enjoying what they discussed, and the tone was familiar... Then Hex remembered the hooded girl. She was an even later experiment than herself, and Hex remembered seeing some of her data when she was in the experimental stage of her modifications, testing her capabilities. Pygmy Owl, if she remembered correctly. She sighed and scratched her ear, now flattened in annoyance at the immature experiments. She ambled to where she figured the girl would be, her tail swishing behind her lackadaisically. But when she saw her, Hex clenched her teeth, cursing the labcoats under her breath. It pissed her off when they toyed with the experiments. It may have been her pack mentality which ironically they'd created that caused her to resent them this way, but since she'd been in the Habitat she'd seen terrible things happen. And she was sick of it. Hex was about to approach the prone girl when another figure appeared. Agh, another bird... She hoped he wouldn't squawk while she was in the proximity... And she glanced back, wondering whether she should approach now that another had taken unbiased notice of the small girl. Hex sighed and shook her head, weaving through the crowd of onlookers and growling at those who were talking about Experiment 99, her ears flattened against her head. The fur on her tail bristled as she reached the two, one standing and the other prone. Hex glanced at the boy who was prodding Vivi but said nothing as she knelt beside the girl, checking her pulse for bird-like regularity and taking a look at the source of the blood on her legs. "What have they done to you now?" she breathed, cleaning off the blood with a rag from her pocket.
