  2. Hello! Welcome to DCW! Thanks again for your contributions to the wiki. They're greatly appreciated. ^^ Have fun and enjoy your time here!
  3. Hello there! And welcome to DCW! It would indeed be really cool if they decided to hire fansubbers to do the subbing hehe. And yes, it's a pretty long series. It would be interesting to know which series has had the most episodes in history.

  5. Hello Ninis! Welcome to DCW! It would be more than awesome if you were to help out!Like Southpaw mentioned, we have a lot going on on the wiki and could definitely use some help. Although we have pages set up for most episodes, we miss detailed description of the cases and more. But we do have a few summaries in place. Feel free to modify/update/add to them though. Some examples: - Full compact list of episodes: http://www.detectiveconanworld.com/wiki/Anime - More detailed list of episodes for Season 1: http://www.detectiveconanworld.com/wiki/Season_1 - Actual episode page: http://www.detectiveconanworld.com/wiki ... urder_Case And if you have any question at all about Wiki editing or anything else wiki-related, please do not hesitate to ask me or a Wiki mod! Happy re-watching the series and have fun! ^^
  6. Note: This news item was imported from the old system. ------------------------- Originally posted by BladeLeaf ------------------------- I was totally excited after I watched DC movie 13 trailer. So I waited for the day it will be released on the internet. Months later, I finally found one with English subtitles and watch it with my speaker turn to the maximum with a packet of potato chips in my hands. Right after the movie ended, I was quite a bit of disappointed. Although I must say that the movie is nice, there are not much thrill to it compared to the past DC Movies.
  7. Note: This news item was imported from the old system. ------------------------- It is my great pleasure to announce the release of the subbed version of Movie 13: The Raven Chaser! All credits go to the DCTP team who really did an awesome job there as usual! So, a big Thanks to them! Anyway, the video has been added to the Watch section (both on Youtube and Megavideo). If you find more video links, don't hesitate to submit them. It's super easy! Enjoy and feel free to share your thoughts (and emotions?) about the movie on the forum. Happy movie-time!
  8. Let's see.. It was sometime in 2005 (or 2006) when I was reading a forum where people posted about their favorite anime/mangas. Then, I saw the name "Detective Conan" come up. Since I like science in general (I majored in Computer Science at university after all), I thought it would be really interesting to witness and/or be part of reasoning or deduction processes. With the word "detective" in the title, it was clear that it had this level of reasoning and thinking and had to do with mystery, scientific demonstrations, etc.. So, I thought "hey, why not"? That's when I started watching the series and indeed got hook up almost instantly.

    Conan

That's pretty good indeed! Congratulations there! I wish I could do something half as good lol.
  10. They're really nice! ^^ It's true that the quality isn't the best but the montage itself is pretty cool. I like how many of the transitions coincide with the music's rhythm. One suggestion I have though would be to try and get rid of the subtitles (maybe download the raw versions?) when you're trying to match the video sequences with the lyrics from the song being played: they can get pretty distracting when trying to focus on the song's lyrics and the video. But other than that, I like the fact that you chose lots of nice little parts here and there and made it match the music. All in all, I think they are pretty well-done for your very first 2 videos! So, congratulations!!
  11. That's an extremely good idea! I'll be adding these forums shortly. Thank you for the suggestion.
  12. I just realized that I never properly introduced myself haha. Maybe because at the time this site was created (not too long ago) I was the only member on the forum. So here goes: My name's Maurice. I actually got one or two questions about whether I'm a girl or a boy because they never saw such a name before. Sooo, I guess I'll make it clear here once and for all: I'm a guy! =) And Maurice is quite a popular French name actually. And yes, I do speak French (aaaand also have French blood in me). I'm 26 and working as a Web developer at the moment. I've been creating sites for the longest time.. As you should normally have guessed by now, I'm a pretty big fan of the series! I've tried finding websites and resources about this show on the net before but they were either limited or always scattered in many little different places. Hence, why I thought it would be awesome to create a real central resource on the net dedicated to this great and awesome show that is Detective Conan! And you guessed it: that's when Detective Conan World was born and officially launched on April 11th, 2009. I still have so many ambitious goals for this site that I can barely think of them all right now. But I will only be focusing on them following a prioritized list of tasks I've set up. I just think it's best to be organized and finish and polish properly each of the project than release an half-baked feature. It just wouldn't be tasty, right? ^^ Anyway, I'm also a big Anime/Manga fan. You can see some of my favorites ones in the Anime and Manga forums. I also love sport, mainly soccer! Ok, I think that's about it for now. I hope you guys are having a great time here! Don't forget to always have fun!
  13. Hello there! ^^ Welcome to DCW! Have fun and enjoy your stay here!
  14. Hello Jessica! What a great (and inspiring) introduction! It's really cool to have you part of this community! Welcome and have fun here!
  15. Welcome to DCW! Thank you! I'm not the oldest member here anymore! But you just proved that this show is really for everybody, which is pretty cool hehe. Anyway, I hope you enjoy your time here!
  16. Hello all! It is my great pleasure to introduce you guys to your new Global Mods: CarpetCrawler and Southpaw! As many of you have probably noticed recently, the community is getting bigger and bigger, which also means more spam bots roaming around and more supervising to do in general. It's thus definitely great to receive some more help there and to extend the team with long-time, dedicated and motivated members! It's a real honor to have them as part of the team. In any case, be nice to them and they'll be nice to you! To the new mods: let me know if you have any questions regarding your new "abilities". Feel free to navigate a bit through the available options. Most should be rather self-explanatory. ^^
  17. Yeah, unfortunately spam bots are becoming smarter and smarter and have been infecting so many different forum platforms. I've made a bit of research about possible solutions to at least block them a bit. I might be trying some forum add-ons very soon to filter out any possible bot upon registration. And yup, I've been banning all spam accounts since the very beginning (just before deleting their spam posts). And I've also been thinking for a while now about eventually getting some moderators. The community is indeed increasing in size, which is cool. =) I'll keep you guys updated!
  18. Welcome to DCW! =) Hope you enjoy your stay here! See you around!
  19. I was thinking of a more genetal-type detective game just to avoid possible copyright issues if I were to use the name and characters from DC. I also though of something like Carmen Sandiego (which was a pretty fun game at the time) but there would have to be something unique to it to make you wanna play more. The fun/addicting factor I guess. What I also eventually had in mind was something that would be community-based (and not just an actual standalone one-player game), a bit like online games are. You would have an account and would be able to interact with other members. Here are some of my ideas: - You would start as a new Detective in a country or region (i.e. it'd be the start of your career). - You would progress by performing little local detective jobs to gain money and reputation. - There would be a ranking system and your goal would be to climb the ladder and become a famous and well-established detective (a bit like how Kogoro did indirectly thanks to Conan ). - With the money, you would be able to own your own agency and possibly hire people. You could upgrade your car to lower the delay between when you can do jobs (if we go with a system like that). - You would be able to trade with players or challenge them (you would get experience or items out of it). - Depending on your level, you could participate to Competitions (I don't know if something like that exists in the real world but that would be cool + it's ok to add imaginary elements to the game). - And more similar ideas... The challenge is really to make a solid and attractive concept out of all those bits of ideas. Does it sound like something you might play eventually? =o
  20. I've been thinking for a while now about developing a "detective" type game (however small or big it might be) and I've just not figured out the best gameplay factor/strategy yet. I was thinking, as a start, of a web-based game that we could even publish on Facebook and/or MySpace. But just like any creation, finding the right and best concept is the most difficult part. I'm actually not worried about the development part at all! It's all about the ideas and the level of fun we can integrate into the game. So, that's where you guys could help out! Do you have any idea that could make a "detective" game work? And be fun/enjoyable? Just pieces of ideas would help too. Then, just like a puzzle we could assemble a full game putting them together! It would be soo awesome if we could release a DCW game entirely conceived and created from scratch by its very own community! Anyway, use this thread as a placeholder for ideas that could potentially be useful or fun in a detective-type game. Thank you!

    DCTP

I really appreciate the work those guys at DCTP have been doing. It's mainly thanks to them that we get to enjoy DC as much as we do now. I personally don't see anything I do here as a competition with other DC-related websites. I'm actually happy about this new system their working on. It'll just be better for the fans. The more alternatives and the more resources about DC on the net, the better it is! I don't work for myself after all. I work for the fans. And it's fun. But, I strongly believe we still are (and will be) a great place for DC fans to hang out and get their daily dose of DC medications. The other thing is that I'm not really comfortable at this point with hosting actual DC videos on the site since there could potentially be copyright issues linked to that. That's why linking to Youtube or Veoh is an awesome alternative: possible copyright infringement doesn't fall onto our hands plus they do offer pretty fast and decent quality videos. Plus the community gets to be involved and can contribute if they want to! To sum up, anything a fan would need to enjoy their DC content.

  23. Don't worry I received them! They just haven't been activated yet. (Any links that get submitted never show right away: they need to be approved first). The thing is that I'm working on a control panel for the site so that I (or any other moderator) can easily manage information that is hosted on the site (episodes, links, etc...). It's kind of a big project and that's why I've been slowing down on activating links. Once the control panel is done, it would become so easy to check a submission and approve it (almost a one-click process). Keep on submitting though. I really appreciate this! It not only helps out the site and the community, but myself too since I can focus on improving the site instead of "hunting" for links. I'll try to have a look at those links and activate them as soon as I can. Thanks again!
  24. Note: This news item was imported from the old system. ------------------------- The watch section now contains up to episode 550 (not yet aired). Feel free to submit links for the new ones listed (or as soon as they get released)! Thank you!
