  1. An actress or teacher sure. Fighter... to a certain extent. But it would kind of merge with teacher. The most I could see out of her with fighting is teaching karate. But any of the rest of that? It's just not Ran. 1. Business... woman? When did-? Huh? I'm just curious as to what gave you that idea for her? I'm actually genuinely kind of wondering what made you say that? XD 2. Pro poker? I don't know about that. She has the luck for it but she's too classy for that. She hates when her Dad gambles as it is. Why would she choose it as her job? 3. When the HECK did RAN ever want to solve a CASE? (And no. Trying to figure out Shinichi's secret doesn't count. That's something she would want to figure out because it hits close to home.) Not to mention the girl still screams at dead bodies. There's no way in heck she can walk onto a crime scene without ripping apart everybody's eardrums. 4. Soccer coach? Why? Because Shinichi's into soccer? Ummm.... I don't think she's really... interested in that. 5. *Points at #3* 6. Ehhh... she hasn't really expressed a need to be involved in anything like that. Sh'es too "innocent" for that. 7 & 8. *Points at #6* 9.

  3. I also like the fact that Akai is the only person who knows her as Shiho, and not as Ai haibara...I think it would be interesting for her to finally find someone from her past. Not to mention that Akai is great for her^^

  5. I'm not really for this pairing. Like, Akai was her sisters boyfriend, it just doesn't seem right for her sister to go after him. I would much rather see her with Mitsuhiko! if she was to return to her adult body permanently, I'm not totally against her being with Akai, So, I'm in-between with this pairing.

  6. Finally found the time to watch it. Really nice stuff this time around, as expected. Mouri Kogoro is back to his good old antics again, Heiji and Kazuha got a respectably sized portion of this special, and there were nice Shinichi and Ran scenes that didn't feel too forced at all. The adaptation of the plane case doesn't take up too much time and is well paced, so it didn't get in the way of the enjoyment at all. The new mystery was pretty good. Not the most shocking case like the last special was and, in my opinion, not as emotionally moving either, but it was realistic. Every actor and actress held their own and the scene directing is as familiar as it's always been with live-actions. Music is phenomenal, as always. A heard a few familiar compositions that were in the last special and in the thirteen short episodes that aired last year as well as a few remixes and (I think) a few new scores to add to the atmosphere. They decided to change the ending theme song again, and it's really good. Still not too pleased the theme song from last year was never released as a full version, so I doubt this new theme will either. They're both such nice songs, too. Anyway, I give this live-action special a 9/10, because it's exactly what I expected and hoped for. Hope they decide to make a fifth one soon! EDIT: Oh, and for those wondering, the theme song is sung by yu-yu (thought her voice sounded familiar) and is titled "桜唄" (Sakura Uta) which quite simply translates to "Sakura Song". If you watch the live-action special, you'll see the significance immediately. After a quick search online, this is the only version of the song available: Let's hope for a full version!

  8. Shinichi will continue mooching off his parents while he stumbles through becoming a real detective, not with the police, because he'll get thrown out quick for interfering with police shooting at suspects.

  10. Tells are how people write certain letters or the ordering of symbols. For instance... How someone writes the date can narrow down their country of origin. Usage of punctuation, and how the punctuations are written tell you often gender. Then you have angling and spacing that have been heavily analyzed that can tell you a few things. Then you have style of writing letters as well. The smallest of things can tell you a bit about a person.

  11. Anyone can do it. It isn't an exact science. All you need is to have the list of tells and the analysis of known things. All you need to do is take it one step at a time and you'll be surprised at what you come up with.

  12. You know what would make this thread really fun? If people looked up how to analyze handwriting samples and see what they could come up with.... I mean this is a site based around a detective manga after all. Might as well try to deduce something (I used to know how to do it btw, I probably still could if I could find my book on it...) Edit: A thought occurred to me... I might have a very strange idea of "fun" compared to everyone else here...

  14. The forum is pretty flexible. Try to edit your previous post unless your additional content is substantially different, like you rethought something, or you have new information to add that goes well beyond your previous post. If you are quoting or replying to multiple people, edit your previous post. The one day rule is a good rule of thumb, but I have broken it by posting a self-contained solution to the current case after a separate post replying to someone else. I have also combined people's posts that are separated by more than 24 hours. Just try to be sensible and it will work out. Necroing is longer than seven days on this forum, but it doesn't matter. The basic rules are that you should necro a thread rather than start a new one on the same topic. Please only necro old threads when you have something new or thought provoking to add to the discussion. Don't necro threads if you don't have anything more than "I agree/disagree" or "my view of things in one sentence that someone else posted earlier and I didn't see it because I didn't read any of the other posts". Mods aren't going to delete your posts, but it's annoying to find current topics pushed to the second page. If you want to necro a bunch (15+) of threads, space it out over a few days to avoid this. Finally, don't post to jack up your post count and don't have offtopic conversations in the threads. That is what PMs and the offtopic area are for.
