Johei Matsuura (松浦 錠平 Matsuura Jōhei?) is a Japanese screenplay writer, storyboard artist, and technical director.

Biography

Matsuura has been involved in the industry since 1973. Starting with the fifth episode The Shinkansen's Bomb Case, he began to work regularly in the Detective Conan anime, and served as organizer, storyboardist, and episode director for several episodes. However, he quit the anime production in 1999, after doing the storyboard for The Suspicious Astronomical Observation. He then retruned to the production team in 2002, and only did episode directin thereafter. After the negatiation arc of Contact with the Black Organization, in which he did the episode direction, he quit the production once again and has not returned yet.

During the 1996-1999 period, Matsuura usually worked with Atsushi Aono.
