Situation

A threat on a flower show artist causes Kogoro Mouri to be hired during a local flower show, but when one of the guests is murdered.

Evidence

• Conan noticed that there was a chloroform scent from the victim's flower.
• Searching Rika's belonging, Conan found a bottle of Chloroform which is used in the murder to put the victim to sleep first before murdered him. He also found a bottle of Potassium Cyanide, concluded that the murder must plan to kill someone else as well.

Conclusion

Conan soon figured out that the second target is none other than Rika Okano. As the flowers that all the guests received should already bloom meaning the flowers on the stage was the one that was poisoned. As Midori Ozaki, Rika's manager was the one who prepared the flowers for the guests and the stage only she could have done this.

• A frozen chloroform would be put in a flower that had it temperature reduced so it would reverted to flower bud. When time passed, the flower will bloom and the victim will be put to sleep.
• A frozen Potassium Cyanide would be employed in similar tactic, except that it's put in the flowers that were to be used in the show and this time, to kill targets directly.

Motive

Some years before the murders, Rika and Shiraki stole the secret ikebana techniques that Midori's beloved older sister invented and blacklisted her from the ikebana circles; Miss Ozaki fell in despair and commited suicide by poisoning several bunches of flowers in her room and then performing her signature trick to make them open at the same time, releasing the poison that took her life away. A little later, Midori found her sister's body.

Midori searched for info on who stole her sister's trademarks and soon found Rika, who was claiming she was the true creator. So she became Rika's manager and staged a gambit to kill both her and Shiraki. She first drugged Shiraki ans strangled him, then poisoned Rika's stage flowers and got ready. Had said gambit worked, both Rika and Midori would've died; Rika would've been "punished" for indirectly causing Miss Ozaki's death, and Midori would escape punishment and be "reunited" with her dead sister in death.
