His motive was that he indirectly caused her sister Akiho to die because she saw a murder and was chased by the murderer. She was running to a police box, but there was nothing there because the police was with Tomoya, who called the police with no reason, only because he saw a suspicious man outside his house. Aftermath, Akiho was also murdered, and Hajime wanted revenge, so he killed Tomoya. The customer Shin Kotani also wanted to murder him because he caused to be fired of his work.
