Due to the huge popularity of Detective Conan, several anime and games have parodied, lampooned or otherwise mentioned Conan or the series as a whole. This page lists the external references and appearances of the series and/or its characters in various media.

Anime

In the first episode "Magic House: What Would a Manga Protagonist Do Here?", as the protagonist Ai Yasumi tells her story about reading manga, various ones appears on the screen. One of which is the Volume 1 of Detective Conan manga.

Future Detective Conan the Great

In the 5th episode "A Date?! You'd Better Score!", Kenichi Shirahama takes Miu Furinji to the movies to avoid Niijima and the Ragnarok gang, who are targeting him. One of the theater billboards shown to be in session is "Future Detective Conan the Great", which shows a muscular version of Conan holding a spear in a dystopian city.

Shinichi and Ran cosplays in Inuyasha

In the 128th episode "Battle Against the Dried-Up Demons at the Cultural Festival!", a cultural festival features people cosplaying as characters from various anime. Two of which are Shinichi Kudo and Ran Mouri cosplays.

In the 39th episode "Defective Detectives", Vector do an agreement with Charmy in teaching how to become a detective like him and Espio. In the same scene, Vector partially recites Conan's opening speech and wears the same glasses, eyes and part of his hair during it.

In 4Kids's English dub, the reference was removed and replaced with a Sherlock Holmes character and using the quote "Elementary, my dear Charmy".
