Starting from the age of 1 I've been spending time away from my parents. It's how I was raised. I spent half a year away from my mom and dad when I was 1, had my first sleepover at 3, etc. etc. I've grown to be independent. Of course, I still depend on my family for a lot, but I think I could manage being away from them. I don't think I'd mind living away from my family that badly (at least not after I got used to it). It's not like they look into me all that much. It's the first thing my Chinese tutor noticed...that even though my parents provided for me and everything, they don't spend much time with me and really actually care for me that much. I'm not saying they're bad parents, but they've never (and I mean, ever since I was young and they were in university) bothered to go the extra mile and spend the time. They're trying to make up for it now, but so much of my life is a secret to them and I'm not willing to reveal it.

If it was me, I would be really afraid if I weren't with my parents. I think that is my character... But I still wish to be independent.. Though I know it wouldnt be easy for me...

Me too, I've lived five years away from my parents so I grew up pretty undependent And I've always been an independent person, I try to get stuff I wnt by earning them, not asking My parents and I are actually okay, we dont have that much of a distance between us, but there's a lot of different opinions between us and my( and my parents') stubbornness cause us to argue a lot Im not allowed to sleep over thou, unless it's a family friend, so, lucky you I also sound very mature for my age and don't have many friends of my own age

Don't do it much anymore though.
