You should defiantly stay. We need as many intelligent people as possible. And you certainly seem intelligent. So welcome

No, that sounds about right. The first half is pretty bad. The second half is what makes the movie really. I forced myself through it, and it was actually worth it. It had a good payoff...

@chek so you think the CIA's purpose may be an assert? That is the only other reason I can think of than gaining evidence of a potential terrorist organization that possess a threat to America. And the latter would be the one thing that would over lap between the FBI and CIA (that I can think of). Which is why I think that more agent deaths would illicit an investigation, or at least official presence. Though you are right, it is more likely to be blocked by Gosho because that would prevent Conan/Shinichi from taking down the Org. As for Ethan Hondou and the middleman's death, they likely wanted to, unless they had contact with him and thus no investigation was necessary. There has to be a reason why they placed another agent in that position. An asset would make sense, because that is a fairly common occurrence. But I don't think Gosho would do that, because that would mean there is someone good...in... the Org... (A thought just occurred to me... Could Vermouth possibly be a CIA asset? She does seem to have ulterior motives that aren't in the Org's best interests, and she Ran and Shinichi saving her could have changed her to want to try to make good. That would explain a few things, especially the CIA presence in the Org and the lack of an investigation, as it is more important to protect the asset's position than the Agent.) I actually like the sound of that scenario... But we probably won't know for sure until near the end. That would suck for Jodie though... Sent from my Droid using Tapatalk

Him being alive wouldn't be enough to cast suspicion. They would have to prove that it was foul play on her part as well. She did everything she was told to do, they would have to prove that both bullets were blanks, and I have a feeling that Akai either already has a bullet wound in his chest, or he would make one to escape suspicion. As for the head wound, if he is who we think he is, he has already changed his appearance. Either it is reconstructive surgery or a mask. If it is the former, he already has reason to not have a scar, if the latter, again, he is likely to make it seem that he was at least burned there by a round (ie he dodged at the last second, severely wounding him, but not killing). I suspect that they would more likely use her to feed false info to the FBI and CIA than kill her. Killing her would cause further American involvement and grounds to enter Japan for both FBI and CIA. Right now she is a NOC, which means that neither the FBI or CIA have grounds to be there but hopefully her presence will gain them grounds. If she is killed there, they will disavow any knowledge of her mission, but they WILL request a Company lead investigation or a Bureau lead investigation (which ever the CIA deems easier or better for them, as it is their agent). That would not be good for the Black Org. They are more likely to use her position in the CIA to meet their own ends than kill her, unless they can kill her in such a way to not arise suspicion, which I doubt will be possible, because she likely has already reported on the existence of APTX, so any unknown cause of death will be looked upon as murder by the CIA.

The Official My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Thread

I downloaded a bunch of the 8-bit music and the eurobeat <3. The fan community is epic when it comes to things like that. I have never seen anything like this... Now... I just got to avoid the dark side of the fandom... I've heard things... HORRIBLE THINGS! BTW, they need more music in the 2nd season... The first season was loaded with awesome songs (I STILL can't get Winter Wrap Up out of my head). -

OK! Now that I have caught up... I have a question for Parkur... Why does that picture that I posted make me a ROCK?! I think I missed something... Also there are some kick-ass remixes of the MLP songs. And according to Parkur, this song was dedicated to me <3 Edit: Parkur, why did you not tell us you could play the guitar? http://distoorted.livejournal.com/9356.html (And one for Octavia, though it is obviously 20% less cooler) http://distoorted.livejournal.com/7746.html -
I have to say, I'm not a huge fan of the anime of Fruits Basket. The manga on the other hand is fantastic. So... here is the story... This internet producer, Hope Chapman (JesuOtaku), has taken on the monumental project of meeting the two in the form of a radio drama. So think fan done voices of professional quality, quite reminiscent of the anime, doing the radio drama adapted story of the manga with really well done sound effects that pull you in to the story. If you are at ALL a fan of Fruits Basket I urge you to try listening to it. Or even if you aren't a fan too. It is really well done and does not sound at all like fan work. In some ways the voice acting is BETTER than the professionally produced anime. You can find the series site here. I hope everyone can enjoy it.

No worries, and it didn't take that much time Not sure what you were thinking, but I am glad you understand

You are basing a huge assumption on very little evidence. Yes, that I'd the cardinal symptom, but it usually presents with others. Also, it depends on what DNA profile you are doing. But either way fraternal twins share more than 50% DNA match, especially considering that they don't match based on genes (which is where the 50% comes from) but STRs or RLFP (for former being more common). If it was a full gene analysis, you would be entirely correct though. But that is a moot point any way because hair was used to match, which is mtDNA. That is passed down maternally, so it trends to be either matching or extremely close no matter the sibling. Also you bring in epigenetic modification which could be possible if their upbringing was radically different. Otherwise differences would be minimal. Epigenetic modification occurs slowly over time and is fairly rare because it causes mutations (usually in the unnecessary introns as the exons would damage genes) And depending on the genetic sequence targeted during PCR gender might not even be a factor in the match. Though, again, moot point mtDNA. This is all not to mention the fact that is more advanced molecular cell biology, far past the abilities of the majority of the readership of DC Detective Conan, so Gosho would not do that. He would not do that and keep it basic. Hell I didn't want to go this in depth because Gosho would not do such things. He would keep it identical = 100% match and fraternal = approximate match, or so I would assume to keep his readership not completely confused. Granted... Them being identical with turner syndrome is possible as that is the leading cause of varying sex identical twin births, and would account for genetic variation as well. We could both probably argue the science all we want. I personally could see any of the three scenarios being possible, in fact probable. I'm not sure if Gosho will throw such a curve ball as to have Turner syndrome being the reason for the difference in height. But it I'd possible based on the height question posed by Conan, and the fact that is the only reason why identical twins would be differential sex. Though... that would make it even more tragic... Hm... Actually... going through all the science more in depth... yeah... I could see the Turner Syndrome scenario being more likely than the other two...

So many things wrong with your assumptions. Alright... so... your definition is criminal = evil-doer who is cold hearted. You are linking two COMPLETELY different things. Even by the simple DC standards that is simply wrong. Gosho even goes out of his way to make that point. Definitions: criminal - "A person who has committed a crime." cold-blooded - "Without emotion or pity; deliberately cruel or callous." NOW! Clearly, NONE of the criminals OTHER than the BO fit both those criteria within DC. Hell, most criminals in real life don't fit both those criteria. Unless you are also cold-blooded, because I hate to break it to you, but you are likely a criminal, along with most of the other people on this site. The mere fact that you read/watch subbed Detective Conan from a fansub group makes you a criminal. Then within DC, you also have Kaitou Kid, another criminal. Would you also consider him cold-blooded? I think a lot of Kid fans would jump at the opportunity to disagree with you. Now I am not saying all criminals are not cold-blooded, because there clearly are those criminals who are. But there are also those criminals who do it because they don't know any better or do it out of necessity (think Aladdin, he stole to eat, doesn't make him cold-blooded, in fact Disney went out of their way to show you that he has a heart of gold), but that does not make them not be criminals. If they are caught they will be sentenced or punished in some way. Very much like the owner of this site who received a Cease and Desist notice from some lawyers for the "Watch" section. Is Maurice and the mods of this site cold-blooded? I surely hope not, they seem so very nice... Your perceptions of criminals is severely broken and should be remedied, because what you said is just plain wrong, and an insult to ANY criminal who became a criminal due to a stupid mistake or choice they made when they were younger or in a fit of blind rage. Hell, CONAN HIMSELF is a criminal. He has a whole list of charges that can be brought up against him, including stalking, removing evidence from a crime scene, breaking and entering and trespassing (among others).

Actually no, it still applies. You only saw the small area and people passing DIRECTLY BY HER. You only saw a small part of the story. I will guarantee you there were more people around that area. Yes, the guy that hit her and ran her over was a cold hearted bastard who deserves a punishment far worse than he'll ever receive in the Chinese legal system, but the people who saw her and didn't do anything is different. Especially considering that it is actually worse for them to help someone, as screwed up as it is. They didn't want to be the one so they assumed someone else would. It is still herd mentality. So long as there are multiple people in the area, crowd mentality is considered a factor. It doesn't have to be a large group of people in the same place at the same time, it just has to be a metropolis area. Now if it was not in a city and in a rural area of China, I would agree and there would be a gross lack of morality. I really doubt that any of those people who passed her will be losing any sleep over the incident.

HF is terrifying. I hate handling that stuff. I've only had to do it once, and I never want to do it again. On the subject of acid I have trendified more than a few pieces of clothing with the addition of acid. The most notable would be a pair of jeans with H2SO4(concentrated). Funnily enough since I was splashed with water before using it, I thought the dark spots on my jeans were from water... Until I got on the train and noticed that they weren't drying... But hey, I don't need to spend $300 on trendy jeans! I have access to a lab and acid! (And for the record, no, I was not burned by the acid... I was only burned by acid once and it was dumb luck that it touched my skin at all... My arms were fully extended and the lab coat wasn't covering everything... There was a SMALL gap between my glove and coat... and well a small bit of conc. HCl made it to my skin while I was working in the fume hood while someone else was boiling HCl (yes, I wasn't even working with it)) Also... To all you aspiring scientists... I do so request that you use the fume hood. Don't be an idiot like there is EVERY YEAR at my school in Quant lab (Quantitative Analysis). Every year some bloody idiot boils HCl outside of the fume hood. Last year's incident was especially bad with 3 people having to go to the ER for exposure. Thank you There is also a theory that it may not be because the scientists performing the experiment didn't take scale into account. Therefore the speed at which the neutrino traveled was sub-light speed relative to scale. Ironic really... They need to do more testing on the neutrino atom. But for now I'm saying that Einstein isn't wrong. Until there is corroborating tests from other physics labs, I'm not claiming anything.

Threads were merged... That was originally in response to the poster above me creating a new topic for file 794.

Not enough CC, not enough... And Parkur... DC has been ousted from my top 5 if you read back... It just can't hold up to better series...
-
I think we have been watching completely different shows... Not one villain has been cold-blooded unless they were BO. Instead they had a tragic back story, and more often than not were originally kind. Though, in retrospect... Ran being revealed as the BO boss (or even a alcohol named member)... DAMN THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!

Please elaborate... I need to know what test and collecting evidence usually takes about 1-2 hours.

It really depends on what. Some things are really easy to check. Fiber comparison, finger prints, and GSR are among the quickest and easiest. Other things like things that require prep (DNA for instance) takes longer. While most forensics tests take under a day, some are not within a feasible time within the scope of the case. DNA for instance can take up to 8 hours or more.
