Here we have 4 semesters per year and 4 exams per semester with the 2nd and 4th one being the major exams. The last exam per year is the most important as that one decides if we can proceed to the next level. The other three exams all constitute marks for the final one so they are important too. But having one exam per week is unthinkable. D: quizzes are still fine...

Major exams? 4 exams are common here. All our schools have 2 major and two more sub exams.
