  10. Pencil drawing is accepted, this art competition is open to all kind of media. The artwork doesn't have to be big, and I'll go by UK timing. In my time 1st March is end of February, on evening is when submission closes or I make announcement about the competition.
  11. You both don't know? Write a sentence you don't know/like about. It's about different side of life by stating small trivial facts you don't usually do, like and know about small items and daily life. I don't usually brush hair much, I'm naturally born with wavy hair, when brushing it make it worse; it make my hair a bit more wavy!
  12. Do anyone find crease drawing is one of the hardest work? I agree, if draw someone wearing historical tunic it is one of the hardest. Drawing costumes are completely nightmare if to draw the character travel back in time wearing it. Imagine the person sitting down and suddenly a lot of creases kill your muse to draw the person. But why is that? The body is like a sea bed which scrunched up and the amount of creases mounting up, drawing them is predictably difficult. The secret of success drawing creases: imagine our body is like sea bed responding to the waves. And, which is true!!! To start off drawing creases, you must seriously know human anatomy and had drawn flat costume your character is about to wear. Drawing wrinkles is adding the volume, make the clothes a bit more realistic. Drawing folds is representing thickness of layer when the part of anatomy was in pose. Drawing creases is like drawing a wave of pinched clothes as if they are tight or loose to our body built. Most commonly loose clothes often have creases below the elbow, waves of creases representing the spaces between cloth and skin, these creases create a wave down reinforce the volume. And many more I will cover below. Drawing creases is like we once study geometry again. If a small child wear adult's clothes, the creases are rounded shaped form because the anatomy is less angular. And gravity take place, there are many creases. The most common creases we often see on anatomy is often located pivot of bones, you bound to see alot of creases at elbow, waist, neck, below the butt, at the bend of the back, and knees. Those are where creases can be found because the part is where we often bend around. Those pivot are what creases respond to. Those are the rules of drawing creases. Girl's jeans has more wrinkles than boy's, because boy's anatomy is angular. Science about gravity is one of the most important when drawing creases, they are the direction where creases are headed to. When put on the belt the short creases mostly find at waist and lesser than chest. On the chest is wrinkles. Creases below the elbows: the more the clothes are loosen, more creases show up below the elbows because the human is posing. And budges can be seen depending how loose is the cloth, mostly can find diagonally down from top of the elbows. Lastly, imagine the fold is a rock, the second last layer has many creases near the fold. So take note how your character pose. If the characters has pull up the sleeve to elbow, it will create a consistent wave because of the force the character pull up. Occasionally the creases found most is near the elbow. If the body build is medium, the crease is a bit less when person wearing right size of the t-shirt. And bear in mind if draw loose clothes. If the person is thin wearing loose t-shirt, the creases are rounded responding to gravity, often found around torso and chest. Angular creases responding to the length of perimeter, when the t-shirt is stretched. If one day you want to draw the creases, you can do observation study, take the picture and images are deadly accurate. I hope this helps when you draw creases!
  13. Once you see the artworks, you see the answer.

  14. Actually I can tell. I have my ways. That kind will leave trace so I know it's real or fake. That kind is not acceptable.
  15. Hey~ That was nice picture. *thumbs up*
  16. This thread is hugely different than Meitantei's one, because it involve judge discussion and search for setting competitions up with writings and strategy. I don't want to be the one who keep create competition, everyone has fair chance to create one, with this thread any person can step forward to find person helping to write up contest's guidelines and content. Or asking friends who likes to be partner or judge. If you wish to host your own contest or competition; please read the guideline below, it was written from one of the staff member in Hexrpg.com, by Issaness. Credit to Issaness. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Example of a Real Contest: Provide a task Providing a task means to explain to everyone what they are supposed to do to enter the contest. "Your task is to write a contest in the contest forum that will get at least 10 people to enter." Prize List Usually there are up to three prizes, but if you only want to give away one item that is fine too. Just give people an idea of what they're getting. This helps possible contestants know whether or not their time and effort is worth it. Don't forget consolations are always an option as well if you feel like everyone competed well! Rules "All entries must be DCW Appropriate." You don't always have to have rules, but this one is probably a good idea to have in this section if you can. You may want to add more rules such as "You are to do your entry completely alone," or something along those lines. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ And of course I modify one word from Hexrpg.com to DCW. Do feel free to use it and discuss. Or you send in request here for partnership, and competition and contests are not for one person to do alone only. This thread is for serious people who badly wanted competition or contest to spice up DCW. IDEAS ANYONE CAN HOST: Poetry roleplay short story Drabble photography Olympic puzzles any kinds of art competition DC Banner and avatar contest DC Graphic signature contest or contest based on special holiday, example: Valentine, Christmas, Easter, April fool etc...
  17. It's still beginning, but I think I did rush time a bit and expecting a huge load of submission by end of this month. I still don't get it though, the painting they make doesn't have to be huge and take few hours to finish. If submission is not enough, I may change deadline (I hope it won't when everyday I receive submission.) It's one week now and I'm on countdown. Okay, I'll wait for it! Follow the rules to prevent disqualification!
  18. You can join in as judge picking the best, next month. And, I've updated the law/rule of size.
