What Was the Last Song You Listened To?
Kenzi replied to CarpetCrawler's topic in Music, Movies & TV
reminds me of the time when I was looking for the song Don't after listening to it on the radio but couldn't make out the beginning of the chorus, and it was a nightmare finding it, ahahaha......... A Thousand Miles is a classic that I recently discovered. Haven't heard it since early middle school, lol. oh and anyone remember this one? hehehehe... Sometimes I stumble across some really old songs I haven't heard in ages, and it feels like I just recovered a part of my history. It's such an amazing feeling, haha. is this going to turn into a throwback thread geez, I actually didn't like most of her old songs, haha they sounded so whiny and possessive actually, I'm not a fan of her songs in general, but I think they've gotten better over the years. -
Tatami Galaxy gif game 2 stronk also, Akazora pls. Cynthia was a nightmare. And yeah, I also had a pretty chill primary and middle school life. But I didn't realize that until high school started. Perhaps that's what she's going through? "you never know a good thing till it's gone" yup, music was good back then, and it still is. then again, for all we know, she might have been kidding, haha. if you were being serious, I want you to know that high school isn't as intimidating as you may think the transition can be a shock but you'll adjust in time, and it won't be so bad!

ahahah, my bad. That fact keeps slipping from the back of my mind since I've been more active in watching the anime than reading the manga. Thanks for the correction!
-
sorry man, but "Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan" is just overkill. Bulma on steroids, indeed.
-
Honestly, I don't see anything wrong with that. It's a step in the right direction and any progress should be welcomed, in my opinion. I'm not religious or anything but I thought that it was a really nice coincidence, haha.

The Human Centipede I heard a lot of horrifying things about the Human Centipede but I didn't google it until now. So I read the synopsis and it was disturbing, yet... intriguing. I'm not sure how I feel about this or whether this is normal.

it was sarcasm, lol

I wouldn't say that Kid's involvement is absolutely necessary for the DC manga. Other than that one scene on the Mystery Train, I treated it like a side-plot because his involvement has never resulted in and is not necessary for plot progression. Just because it's possible that Kid may be facing BO members doesn't mean it's true. And I wouldn't go as far to say that it's "probable" either. The BO is a more realistic take of the MK Organization because the hunt for Pandora (a gem that supposedly grants immortality) is simply too unrealistic of a plot to be a part of DC--it ruins the realism that DC was originally established on.

yeah, "everything" gets on my nerves too

I've been listening to Rach 3 on repeat for god knows how long now but nothing can compare to witnessing it live our orchestra was playing this alongside a freakishly talented senior during our concerto concert he made it look so effortless too afkdlfjdklgjfsdgkl ;-; but I still had fun playing this in the orchestra, ahahahaha oh, and I also recently listened to Thrift Shop @Akazora: holy.... I haven't heard that song in ages I didn't even recognize the title until I listened the song omg -
lol I don't have anything to add to the thread, really DBZ is basically a cash cow at this point there's nothing to gain from milking the series because it's already hugely popular and with that said, I will not be following this unreasonably long series--DC has taught me to avoid those like the plague

Haha, I can't argue with you there Most of people with good commentary are just people I happen to stumble across. Many of the more better-known commentators just aren't...that funny, ahahah..... like, if you enjoy watching or playing LoL, Dunkey is always a classic well, in our defense, we did have a paragraph dedicated to video games in that other thread, haha nah, I'm just rather surprised that you liked the book But then again, it's already been around three years since I last read it so maybe I'll pick it up again when I have the time. Who knows? My viewpoint of the novel may have changed since then, and I trust your judgment. And I guess that means I'll have to add The Little Prince to the backlog of books I need to read as well, lol Hmm, I've never heard of those YouTubers before. I don't watch as many Let's Plays as I used to because the videos tend to be >20min, which ends up being really time-consuming despite how entertaining some can be. I mainly watch hack playthroughs and RoosterTeeth's Rage Quit (it comes out biweekly, which I'm perfectly happy with) nowadays. I think the reason why I love Let's Plays so much is because I usually can't get my hands on the games that I want to play. Watching someone else play it fills that void and it feels like secondhand experience as well. I also enjoy watching/listening to the discussion of the game as it's being played and the added commentary can deliver more entertainment value when done right. And sometimes there may be a stage of a game that can be particularly rage-inducing, which can force people to resort to playthroughs *cough* Touhou Lunatic mode *cough*. But in those instances, people may only watch the playthroughs just to ogle at how the gamers manage accomplish the utterly impossible (c'mon, admit it, you've done this before, haha). Speed-runs of games like Super Meat Boy also provide a similar form of this catharsis. While I'll admit that Let's Plays can't beat firsthand experience, understand that many people out there also can't afford to spend hundreds of dollars on games (the ones on consoles like the Wii(U) and Xbox can get especially pricey). So what better way to experience the games than to watch playthroughs like Let's Plays? Personally, I think it's better than not experiencing them at all. lol I did something similar a few days ago. I needed to put together a video for a project, but I was too tired at the time so I took a "nap" at 11pm and woke myself up at 2am to finish it. I didn't finish until the sun was up, which really caught me by surprise. And that PIXELS movie... I didn't believe you at first, but damn. --- OMM: I got to suture a pig's foot in my bio class a few days ago it was kinda weird, and the experience was... interesting, lol

so basically every novel geared towards the teenage demographic jk I don't enjoy stories where the plot revolves around a romance. A romance should be naturally developed, and not shoved down our throats like it's the core of the story. lol, shall I whip out the mile-long list of childhood romances in DC?

I recently watched Flatland in my calc class (a movie adaptation of Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions) It did a pretty nice job breaking down the concept of different dimensions through a 2-D viewpoint. The cross-section of a "hyper-sphere" (or a 4-D sphere in a 3-D space) can be simplified to an inflating/deflating balloon. Ahahaha, it made me think a bit.

ahahaha, it's way too easy for me to rant go off on tangents, gomen, eheh... I don't see any "gain" that would happen with this competition of theirs, but whatever floats their boat, I guess, lol. I'm not gonna lie--I struggled getting through the book during 8th grade, and I felt pretty empty after I finished it. It gave me a bad impression and I'm a bit hesitant to pick it up again. But no matter. I'll take your word for it and I'll consider reading AToTC the summer after senior year. I have a huge backlog of books I want to get through first, heh. 1984 made me rethink some things, especially the tactics used to manipulate citizens. The classic 2+2=5 highlights lack of psychological independence, and I could go on and on about some of my favorite quotes from the novel, but I'd rather not spoil or bore you to death, haha. It's easily one of my favorite classics that I've read so far. Yup, definitely didn't see what was so Great about Gatsby (ucwutididthar?). It felt like a pretty average novel to me. I've never read The Little Prince before, but I've seen my friends reading the French version for their French classes. Personally, I watch Let's Plays mainly for the commentary and not necessarily for the game. Michael from RoosterTeeth (better known from his Rage Quit videos NSFW) is a prime example of why I sometimes love watching commentary. PewDiePie and Markiplier's humor is too forced so I rarely watch them. And yeah, while I do see your point in wanting to play the games yourself, if you can't get a hold of a certain game for whatever reason, your next best option is to watch someone play it with hilarious commentary, haha.

I personally think it's these that feed into the stigma of anime. Anime is not a genre, but a medium. It's unfortunate that many people don't understand that because these harems, hentai, and moe crap are polluting the industry.
-
Ehh, the only DBZ thing I'm watching is DBZ Abridged because it's hilarious. ...but nothing can compare to YuGiOh or Naruto Abridged, hehehehe...

I think most of the people in AB at our school wouldn't be crazy enough to take the BC exam out of peer pressure. If you're taking AB, you may as well take the AB exam. If these AB people are taking the BC exam instead, why didn't they just take the BC class then? Torturing themselves for the sake of pride? I'm still having trouble wrapping my head around this, haha. The BC:AB ratio at our school is probably 1:2--which is expected, I guess, lol. Does this "cycle" normally happen at your school every year? Ahaha, contrary to what I believed before, I don't think I'm going to be able to get a break for a while. I have my AP Bio final exam next week (dear god, why), I have to catch up on physics (since I missed a lot of material for APs), I still need to study for my subject tests (asdlfhjsdkfhjdkgjf), and I still have a bit of make up homework to do. Thank goodness our calc teacher is able to empathize with the students, and isn't planning on assigning us much work to do. I'm exhausted and pretty drained from AP week(s), and that AP Bio final exam our teacher pulled out of thin air really caught me off guard. In fact, I've been so unmotivated lately that I decided to push back doing my English homework to 3am a few days ago because I couldn't find the motivation or energy to do it. I was nowhere near this wearied sophomore year. My brain is fried. Huh, I'm too sure about our summer reading since the AP Lit teachers are letting us choose some books to read from a list they give us. When my sister was still in high school, Catch-22 was still on there. I was really forward to reading it over the summer but it got taken down :c And surprisingly, Pride and Prejudice isn't on the list. I never really enjoyed "Classics" either, so I'm a bit surprised that you actually liked loved A Tale of Two Cities. We were forced to read that back in 8th grade and I absolutely hated it (I think only one or two of my friends genuinely enjoyed it). I was bored to tears and I couldn't keep myself awake while reading it, ahahahaha... 1984 was probably one of the only classics that made an impression on me. I can list a few others that were okay, but were not very memorable (Gatsby being one of the most recent). However, I can also list a bunch of classics that I couldn't stand (I won't waste my time typing them out). Dangit, I actually wanted to watch Big Hero 6, haha. A lot of my friends seemed to like the movie a lot so I'm planning to make room for it over the summer. -- OMM: Good freaking riddance to junior year AP tests. You will not be missed. 'till we meet again next year 10/10 would not experience again

+1 I'm not a huge fan of sappy endings, but knowing Gosho--it's the most likely outcome, haha as much as I love DC, there needs to be a stopping point eventually. I would, however, enjoy a plot twist like "wow, Ran knew Conan was Shinichi all along!" or something like that, lol.
