  1. Hey all, Since the community has grown quite a lot since 2009, I think it would be nice to start "prettyfying" and organizing the forum a little bit. And I think we could use your help for that! What I was thinking we could do is implement new ranks and icons for members. Right now, the only two ranks we have are: Members and Advanced Members (not including the staff like moderators). We also have a special group called "Donators" (only one person in it so far). It would be interesting to have more of them and eventually DC-related. For example: 0 posts and more => Novice 10 posts and more => Detective boy 50 posts and more => High-school detective 100 posts and more => Detective etc... or we could be original and have: 0 posts and more => Genta's friend 10 posts and more => Ayumi's friend 50 posts and more => Mitsuhiko's friend 100 posts and more => Detective Boys 500 posts and more => Ai's friend 1000 posts and more => Ran's friend 2500 posts and more => Gin's nemesis etc... You get the idea. So, what I'm asking of you guys is to suggest nice/cool/fun ranks and then we'll choose the best ones (or do a vote, we'll see). Don't hesitate to think outside of the box! As for the icons, you may have noticed that we only have: x number of dots for members: Admin: Moderators: Once we decide on the ranks or if you feel motivated, we would really like some suggestions or designs for the icons as well. For example, it could be Genta's face for the "Genta's friend" rank, etc... Again, any idea is welcome. Just let your imagination go wild! I hope this is gonna be a successful little event here and that you guys have fun with it. Thank you and may the fun begin!

  2. Case File 3: This afternoon, at approximately 3:54 pm, Hebi Yoshi-san (Her maiden name is Ryota) went to her son's room to retrieve him for a scheduled play-date, only to find that Karasuma-kun was missing. The frantic mother, who works 12 hours a day during the week, feared for her son's safety, as her husband, who died last year, had been found dead after his disappearance a few days before. The window was left open, and her son was nowhere to be found. A few minutes later she recieved a call from an unidentified person on her home phone. The call came from her cell phone, which she had left in her son's room, and their voice was disguised. (I am now going to refer to the culprit as he for ease of writing.) He reportedly warned Yoshi-san against calling the police and demanded 10 million yen in Beika Park before sunset if she wanted to see Karasuma-san alive. Disguised as the parent and child of the playdate, Edogawa Conan and Mouri Kogoro were able to enter Hebi-san's home. These are the clues they gathered about the situation. Due to the fact that the window had been opened from the inside, and based on fingerprints, by the kidnapped child, the culprit has to be someone aquainted with the family. The suspects are: Ryota Kasumi- the child's aunt. She has always been close to her sister. Motive: Her business is going bankrupt, and she is 3 million yen in debt. Alibi: From noon to 2:40 this afternoon, she was at a salon getting her hair cut and dyed. After this, Kasumi drove to her sister's house and remained in the living room with her the entire time she was there. She left through the front door around 3:07, and her sister watched her go around the corner. Karasuma-kun was still in his room when Hebi-san checked on him a few minutes later. Shinte Raku- Hebi Yoshi-san's regular child-sitter and housekeeper. He is well-regarded as a professional, and has always taken great care of Karasuma-kun. Motive: Unkown... (Monetary gain?) Alibi: Until 3, he was alone in his apartment. When he arrived at 3:15, Karasuma-kun was still in his room, and although he went into every room to clean, Raku-san was with Yoshi-chan when she recieved the culprit's call. He didn't leave the house at any point, and was still there whe Mouri-san arrived. Azuka Hiro- Hebi-chan's childhood friend. They met in elementary school, and were close even after she met and dated her future husband. After his death, Hiro-san visited often to see her and the child. Motive: Unknown. (Monetary gain? Their past?) Alibi: He arrived at Yoshi-san's home around 3:32 pm, and remained in the living room with her the entire time he was there. Hiro in the restroom when the child was discovered missing, but was within her sight looking for him when she was called by the culprit. Clues and Facts: - Karasuma's fingerprint's were on the window, and it had been opened without any trick or sign of forced entry, as though the boy had opened it. - During the search, Hiro-kun checked the boy's room, front yard, tree house, and bathroom. - The child's mother searched her own room and the hall closet, along with her husband's old bedroom. - Raku-san looked in the back yard and the shed behind the house, as well as the garage. - It seems like no one had a chance to sneak the boy out of the house. - None of the suspects were carrying anything suspicious with which they could have subdued the child. - None of the suspects were in possession of Hebi-chan's cellphone.

  3. @Chek: Do you remember anything else ? Like did she say something beside that ? Was it a direct speech or just flashback ? She told Conan that or she just thought so in her head ? EDIT: So far I've checked every file with Haibara from V.18~37 (including the flashbacks) but still haven't found it.

  5. Sometimes you need to step outside, get some air, and remind yourself of who you are and who you want to be.

  6. But you're 7. Anyways, like IU said, it's a case-by-case scenario. It depends on the individuals involved. However, I will note my experiences: It is hard to have good relationships with an age gap during high school and such. The age gap doesn't have to be large either. Most people find their partner in life way after high school, where people are more free to seek out people outside their age bracket. In addition, people tend to be more tolerant of age gaps at that point.

  8. Hm... Wrong episode to make a point with. DCTP's came out 2 days ago. More impressive would have been to say 645, which has been out for two days now. So by your estimate, you should have already released it or getting ready to release it. Also, this sounds like a speed sub ordeal, just sayin' And yes... Copyright issues. The subbing and distribution of Detective Conan is a violation of Shogakukan, TMS and Gosho Aoyama Copyrights. So technically it is illegal to do so. Posting the links directly here could cause problems for the site whom were already contacted by lawyers for linking to videos (hence the watch section being down).

  11. Yeah... No topic ever warrants 3 topics... ever. It just doesn't. Edit your post, add stuff to the current... Something... We don't need duplicate threads ever, they provide no benefit to anyone, and only serve to annoy because it breaks up the discussion. Now! On to what I think about this whole thing! Keep in mind this is all my opinion. First! I have no idea the demand for a DCW Wiki app. I cannot imagine it being too high, unless you have a group of friends that you debate with in person over DC with. The only people I can see who would need it are those who use their mobile phones a lot and are always on the go. But really, for most purposes Wikipedia serves most for their wiki needs on the go (and their mobile app is just lovely). I personally do not see the need for it. NEXT! That trailer... My reaction: Sorry, I couldn't resist. I've literally been waiting for an opportunity to use that clip! Seriously... We saw nothing of its functionality (and I'll get to that in a bit). A trailer is supposed to excite and highlight the key elements or at least the most exciting things. It is an interest builder. It really didn't do that. You need to show off what sets your app apart from just going to the actual site on your mobile browser. THIRD! The app itself (this will be a two parter)... From the trailer: It looks like its a zoomed in portal to the desktop site. That is it. No offense to you, but... that isn't good design for a few reasons. First is that, DCW especially, is very image intensive, that means high bandwidth. So those people with data limits will be at higher risk of using up their allotted data. Second is that it was obviously designed with desktop in mind. This makes it cumbersome to use efficiently as an app. Lastly... it isn't intuitive nor integrated into the Android ecosystem. Basically, what should be an actual wiki app, is just a glorified bookmark. My suggestion... Ask around at how to convert a wiki into a mobile format for an app. The trailer also failed to show what separated it from just a bookmark widget linking to the DCW wiki. Native editing capabilities, integrated search bar... nothing of that degree was shown (the latter is the kicker though, most wiki apps don't allow for editing but all that I have seen and used had some sort of search function) From what I found on the internet (that site where you can post demos of apps and make them downloadable or not) (this will be short, and I am also assuming its the same app) The DC Fan app I believe you called it... The wiki part is confirmed to what I thought, and really should be redesigned to a mobile format. The other two things on there... the video and manga... needs to be removed. That is violating copyrights, as well as the Market policy. It is not good. I hope you take my suggestions in stride and show an updated app that makes sense for a mobile platform. Scrolling should really be only up and down, not side to side. There are many ways to go about it, and you should find the best method that suits you and your programming and design style. As it stands, having a bookmark widget will do the same as your app. Best, Kyuu
