Howdy!

I'm having difficulties logging into the wiki. ^^;; You can read about it in the below conversation:

Hello there! I thank you for your various edits on this Wiki. Have you considered creating an account? Thanks! CarpetCrawlermessage me 01:20, 17 November 2009 (UTC)

Glad you appreciate my submissions so far. I made an account with the forum yesterday, but something is preventing me from properly logging onto the wiki. ^^;; User:skyechan
Hmmm... interesting. Why? What message do you get? Also, if you are logged in to the forum, then you will automatically be logged in to the Wiki. And also, the usernames here are case-sensitive, so if you capitialized something when you registered, then you have to log in with the capitalization. CarpetCrawlermessage me 01:46, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
I log in no problem onto the forum, but the moment I click over to the wiki, I get logged out. Cookies are enabled on my Firefox browser. I forget what the message I kept receiving earlier today was, but now I've apparently tried to log in too many times so I receive this message: "Login error You have made too many recent attempts on this account's password. Please wait before trying again.". I am certain I was typing in my account name and password correctly. User:skyechan
Hmmmm... well, I recommend that you head over to Maurice and leave him a message about it, as it looks like a technical error. CarpetCrawlermessage me 02:03, 17 November 2009 (UTC)

Any idea what's going on with my account? ^^;; User:skyechan

Greetings, fellow Conan fan!

Hello there! I see that you have recently created the website, as well as this Wiki. Let me just say, hello there! I am CarpetCrawler, and I am a gigantic fan of Detective Conan! :) I was originally only going to sign up for the forum, but then I saw that you have a wiki, so I felt I had to sign up. :) I have experience editing at the English Wikipedia click here!, in which I have contributed to articles considered "Good Articles," and I contribute at the Simple English Wikipedia, see here. I would be happy to help you in any way possible at this Wiki, as well as join the discussion forum! Thanks for creating such an AWESOME idea, and I hope to hear from you soon! CarpetCrawlermessage me 02:58, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

Ooooh, too exciting! :) I'll help out in any way I can. I'm guessing each episode of Case Closed will have its own article? Wikipedia doesn't do that, and I guess it's OK for Wikipedia, but I feel that this Wiki should have separate articles for each episode. Hope to see you again! CarpetCrawlermessage me 05:09, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
OK, that sounds like a good idea! How will the article's be named? Will the first episode's article title be called "Episode One"? Or the name of the actual episode? CarpetCrawlermessage me 06:16, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
Sure! That's what I was hoping for, as well. I also think that we should make it so that the english title re-directs to. For example, I can create a re-direct from "The Big Shrink" to "Roller Coaster Murder Case"! It sounds like a plan. :) Tomorrow I'll design an infobox for the use of such an episode article. CarpetCrawlermessage me 06:41, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
Hey there! Just got back from class. Feeling a little under the weather, so I'm not attending my night class today, so I will see if I can get the infobox for an episode done later tonight. :D Does this Wiki have a sandbox? CarpetCrawlermessage me 18:23, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
Hey there! I created a Sandbox page for all users. And about the infobox, I was thinking of something along the lines of this one, just with no writer, director, and guest star section. I don't know exactly how one creates a template on here, though. :-/ CarpetCrawlermessage me 18:40, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
OK, I'll get to work as soon as possible. :) CarpetCrawlermessage me 04:11, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
Oh, OK, so it's just like with the English Wiki. OK. I probably won't be doing much today and tomorrow, because I've become quite sick, so I'll see what I can do when I get better. CarpetCrawlermessage me 20:54, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

(Outdent) I began Ran's page, and did some other general work. I'll try and recruit some people a little bit tomorrow. I know of someone who doesn't have time to spend specific time to work on the Wiki or join the forum, but they said they can answer any questions we have. CarpetCrawlermessage me 06:25, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

Feeling much better. :) I'll see what I can do. CarpetCrawlermessage me 23:59, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

Hey!

Haven't heard from you in awhile! I hope all is well. Know of anyone else who could help on this Wiki? CarpetCrawlermessage me 04:10, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

Well, I was able to get in touch with someone who said they will have free time in July. :) I'll do so more recruiting when I can. Anyone at the message board willing to help out? At this point, we really need character bios, which is something people who don't know how to use a Wiki can proably do well. :) CarpetCrawlermessage me 21:21, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
Also, I created some more articles about characters, and even decently expanded Misao's character profile. Right now I think our goal should be to create basic blank articles for each character, and then filling them out. However, we can also do other things. :) CarpetCrawlermessage me 02:10, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

Help!

I tried my hand at creating the episode template, but I seem to have some trouble. Could you take a look and see what exactly the problem is with what I'm doing? Thanks! CarpetCrawlermessage me 04:33, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

Thanks. :) I've went ahead and created a template for indicating when it's a characters first ever appearance in a series. IMO, we should have a list of regular well known characters that appear in each episode.^^ CarpetCrawlermessage me 23:07, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

Episodes

Great job so far with the episodes! I'm currently at episode 130 of the show, so I decided that after each episode I would complete the article for the episode, while the character info is still fresh in my mind. :) I have a question. For the portion of the infobox where it says who solved the case, are you looking for who Conan had to knock out, or who had revealed who the murder was? Because that's how I've been doing it, I list which character revealed who was the murderer. For example, in Ai's first episode, Conan had Agasa explain the murder, so I said Agasa was the one who solved the case. CarpetCrawlermessage me 06:05, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

Ohhh, OK!^^ I will correct them from now on. Also, I have been expanding Misao Yamamura's page as well, for fun, since he's becoming a favorite of mine. He's even worse at being a detective than Kogoro! CarpetCrawlermessage me 22:01, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

Movie infobox

I went ahead and created the movie infobox, as seen here. Feel free to take a look. I didn't know what color to make it, so I decided to go and make it green like the TV one. I for one would like a color other than green, to fully differentate the boxes. :) Feel free to make it any color you wish! CarpetCrawlermessage me 22:58, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

Hmmm... I haven't heard from you in a long time. I hope everything is OK! I've been editing a LOT on here, though, so you should be happy to see this Wiki's progress, so far.^^ Hope all is well! CarpetCrawlermessage me 06:49, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
OK, suggestions duly noted. ;) Hope everything is well! CarpetCrawlermessage me 17:55, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

Just thought I'd give you a heads up, the "DC Wiki" logo with Conan doesn't show up in the top left corner on everyone's contributions page. Don't know if this is done on purpose or not, so I'm just giving you a heads up. ;) What's up? I've been doing the same on this wiki, creating episode article as I go on, and editing some character pages. Check out Sango Yokomizo's page! I've done some pretty heavy editing. I've also done some work with Eri Kisaki's page, though it is far from completion. CarpetCrawlermessage me 21:43, 18 June 2009 (UTC)

Images

I now have a program that can take screencaps of videos, so I am going to start replacing all of the current photos with pictures that I will take myself. I'd rather do that than steal images. ;) So far, Officer Tome, Kiyonaga Matsumoto, Tomoaki Araide, and Yumi Miyamoto have images created by me. If you want, I can be the person to search for profile images for everyone. The 60px and 100px images, however, I'd rather not replace. That would be a bit too much of a hassle, IMO. I'd rather focus on replacing all profile images with ones that weren't taken from other websites. It will also help, in my opinion, with making this Wiki unique from other websites. :) P.S., I am going to contact some people who work on DC articles in the english Wiki, and see if they can lend a hand. CarpetCrawlermessage me 23:31, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

Also, I thought it would be a good idea to put in the infobox image section of each episode page, the titlecard for the episode. For example, check out this page to see what I mean. CarpetCrawlermessage me 03:34, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

Hellos and Chiba

Thanks, but no, not from Japan, just looove voice acting (and a lot of my favs are in DC). I would like to bring something up however: Although it's true that, like Takagi, Chiba was named after his voice actor (Isshin Chiba), I've never seen or heard him referred to as anything other than Chiba. The Japanese wikipedia even only calls him Chiba while Takagi is called Wataru Takagi. I don't think his full name is officially Isshin Chiba. But that's just to the best of my knowledge, you might've read something I didn't, I just wanted to bring it to yer attention. NakagawaRyou 00:19, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

Next Conan's Hint

What do you want to do about it? Should it be included in the episode infobox or should it have it's own little box with a screencap? NakagawaRyou 18:24, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

Sounds okay to me. A couple more questions, though: How much further should I go with Yaiba info (like, should main characters have their own pages and whatnot)? And should Conan and Shinichi have seperate pages? I know they are the same character, but how I'm seeing it is Conan's page could be used to describe how he behaves as Conan and the storyline of the series, while Shinichi's can explain his normal behaviour and his background and past. It's just a passing thought though, I won't lose sleep over it if yer against it. NakagawaRyou 06:42, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

Conan

Today I did a ton of work on Eri Kisaki's page. Feel free to check it out. All it needs is a new picture and it is pretty much fully good. I'll just add more information when I come across it. Anyway, would you like for me to create a separate page for Conan? CarpetCrawlermessage me 20:42, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

Voice Actors and Yaiba

Nah, everything looks good (love the Kamiya pic... love that guy in general, really), maybe get that thing going where putting in the birthdate automatically puts in the current age (if you already did and I just didn't notice, my bad). I started on Yaiba pages. I'll try not to go into too much detail, but I do plan to add more later (right now I'm just translating what the Japanese wikipedia says about them). I also made some categories, let me know if I made one too many or not. NakagawaRyou 05:03, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

Anyway you can delete my current Musashi pic so I can upload the better one I found? NakagawaRyou 05:00, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
Ah, there we go thanks. And sorry, I tried to make the Onimaru pic bigger, but it's been awhile since I dealt with images on a wiki, so I forgot how to. NakagawaRyou 05:29, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
It's hard to compare as they are quite different. While DC is more realistic and the comedy comes from personalities and relationships, Yaiba is much more gag-oriented, it's more of a comedy series than it is an action manga (although the fights are enjoyable). I personally love Yaiba, which is why I was willing to add info on it for the site. If you like comedic action mangas like Dragon Ball, One Piece, or Ranma 1/2, it's worth a read.
The Magic Kaitou manga is also more comedic than DC and has witches and sorcerors in it. NakagawaRyou 05:40, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Music

Just wondering, will we ever create a music section? CarpetCrawlermessage me 01:09, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

Awesome, thanks!! I'll get to work as soon as possible. CarpetCrawlermessage me 23:30, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

Music infobox

Hey, would you be able to make an infobox for music singles? Like, and have it include a spot where you can put an image of the single, the artist, the year it came out, and its peak number on the Oricon charts? I guess pink would be a good color. Thanks! CarpetCrawlermessage me 17:44, 11 October 2009 (UTC)

Knew I'd forget something... would you be able to add a parameter that would tell the reader from what episode to what episode the song was used as an opening or closing theme? CarpetCrawlermessage me 04:14, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

Chiba again

Hate to bring this up again, but before I make a page for the voice actor Isshin Chiba, I want to know what we are going to do about Chiba's name. Once again, I'd like to point out that I have never heard or read the character being referred to as Isshin Chiba and the Japanese wikipedia even refers to him simply as Chiba. It'd be a pain for me to title the page Isshin Chiba (voice actor) and then go back and rename all of the links to the page as Isshin Chiba because we later change our minds to "Nah, his name's just Chiba". This is also the reason why I haven't done many voice cast listing for episodes lately, because he does ALOT of voices on the show. Even though I'm for renmaing the character page to Chiba or Officer Chiba, I can go either way, I'd just like to know which before I make the page and redo links (since most of the cast listings I've done so far are Isshin Chiba as Officer Chiba and such). Thank you for yer time. NakagawaRyou 20:16, 26 October 2009 (UTC)

Discussion

Hello! I have a proposition that I would like to make, that is available here. I would love your input in the discussion. :) Thanks! CarpetCrawlermessage me 06:04, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

Animetoplist.org

Hey, I just wanted to give you a heads up that I've had someone tell me that one of the sites on the mainpage's "support us" section, animetoplist.org, sets off their McAfee filter, saying it is a dangerous site that breaches its, and its browser's security. Just letting you know now, because that may be a problem... CarpetCrawlermessage me 15:46, 6 November 2009 (UTC)

RE: Login

Looks A-OK on my end! Thanks! CarpetCrawlermessage me 04:23, 17 November 2009 (UTC)

Anime Season Tables

I'm having difficulties figuring this out on my own; could we possibly increase the space for the episode titles on the season table? It'd be nice to have more room to make the tables look more uniform down the page. --skyechan

Aoyama's Many Deaths and Conan Side Images

Could we possibly add two extra little boxes below the Detective and Keyhole images on the manga pages for Aoyama's death images and the Conan side image for each volume? Like the Detectives and Keyholes they change each time, so I think it'd be a nice addition. --skyechan

For the Conan images I don't think it's doable to keep them the 145 x 215 size; it stretches the image a bit too much and if I include more of the scanned image the "Meitantei" part of the title gets in the way. --skyechan
A graphical template might be best since not all of "Meitantei" would be in the picture. Centering the image seems like a better idea. As for the source of my images, I own Japanese volumes 9-62, and then 64 and 65 (missing 1-8 and 63). I also own Japanese Magic Kaito volumes 1-4. I scanned the four Kaito volume covers as well as 9-32 last night. ^^; I'll get around to scanning the rest later. --skyechan
Unfortunately I do not use MSN; the only messenger I use is AIM, which is skyedream75. --skyechan

Magic Kaito Volumes

I managed to get it right for the most part, but my back image bit keeps covering up parts of the summary text. I realize this is solved by hiding the image, but it'd be nice to not need to do that like it is on the DC manga volume pages. Magic Kaito just doesn't have enough chapters per volume to solve this problem automatically like the DC pages; is there a way to add the extra spacing/lines needed? http://www.detectiveconanworld.com/wiki/Magic_Kaito_Volume_1-4 --skyechan

I'm also curious why the list isn't displaying quite like the manga page for DC; I thought I did it right... xD;; http://www.detectiveconanworld.com/wiki/Magic_Kaito in comparison to this http://www.detectiveconanworld.com/wiki/Manga --skyechan
Sounds like a good idea! I'll resize the back images to 275. As for your question regarding the Omake for volumes 1, 2, and 4, it isn't listed as a chapter, but it's just a few gag comics Aoyama threw onto the back of those particular volumes. (Such as the characters were all actually just actors on a set or something.) --skyechan

Your thoughts

Your thoughts are very appreciated at the following topic. Thanks! ^^ CarpetCrawlermessage me 22:27, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
