Part 1

Mouri is hired to stalk a man. He follows the man and finds out his attempted murder on a woman.

Attempted Murder
Location: Beika Hotel
Victim: Kaoru Minamizato
Suspects: Shoichiro Hitomi

He later flees but falls off a building.

Accident
Location: Beika Hotel
Victim: Shoichiro Hitomi
Cause of death: Fell to his death

Later they find out the other man also died at the same time he did.

Murder
Location: Apartment
Victim: Takehiko Hitomi
Cause of death: Blunt force trauma
Suspects: Kaoru Minamizato and Kanako Hitomi

They decided they are two separate cases but Conan is suspicious as the man attacked the woman whom has no relationship to him.

Part 2

After interrogating the woman, they learn her the other man who was following Shoichiro was a gold digger and that he was spotted talking with the attacker from before.
