Murderous Intent Raining on an Outdoor Spa (露天風呂に降る殺意 ,Rotenburo ni Furu Satsui) is the 567th episode of the Detective Conan anime. It happens in Shizuoka countryside and involves again Sango Yokomizo, but this time not accompanied by his assistants. It happens in an Onsen, which is a japanese hot springs.

Case

Situation

Kogoro takes Ran and Conan to an onsen by the ocean. When they hear the sound of a boulder falling, they find a man named Hideaki Umezu, a mortgage company president, dead.

Murder

Location: Hot Springs Park

Victim: Hideaki Umezu

Cause of death: Blunt force trauma and drowning from Hot spring

Suspects: Koichi Maekawa, Mari Ehara, Yasuko Umezu, and Shosuke Yagihashi

The police presume that a boulder rolled off the hill and killed Umezu. However, Conan reveals that there are scratch marks around the spot where the bolder laid revealing that someone wedged the boulder out of its placement and that it was a premeditated murder. The suspects are Umezu's secretary, his two daughters, and the onsen manager.

After further investigation, Conan tranquilizes Kogoro and reveals the murderer to be onsen manager, Koichi Maekawa. Conan reveals that Umezu was actually drowned and was dead before the boulder rolled down the hill, evidenced by the dirt under Umezu's fingernails, a sign that he was struggling. Conan then explains the boulder was used to create an alibi for Maekawa. Conan points out that the boulder was held in place by a wooden block which was connected to a line with a buoy at the end. When the tide lowered, the buoy pulled the wooden block and caused the boulder to roll off. Maekawa confesses after Kogoro revealed that the proof was on his rolled off pants which were hiding blood and reveals that the president was pressuring him to sell the land to the onsen and that Umezu also pressured Maekawa's father which indirectly resulted in his death. He tried to hide his proof first by pretending to join the forensics officer and rolling his pants and second, by pretending to accidentally bump into Mari and knock off her bag to hide the towel he used to commit the crime to blame Mari despite it being heavily wrinkled and her having her hands injured.

A year ago, Maekawa's father died after he got drunk because of the pressure he received from the late Umezu wanting him to sell his onsen and accidentally died.

Aftermath

At night, they are sleeping in a nearby hotel but Conan can't sleep because, at his left is Kogoro snoring and pushing his leg on him and on his right, Ran unconsciously approach him in her sleep making Conan see her intimal parts and not being able to sleep of the night.

• This episode used the song "PRAY" by B'z as the alternate ending for Hello Mr. my yesterday.
