Although this set of episodes makes up the ninth "Metropolitan Police Detective Love Story" series the number 9 isn't used in the titles. The Wiki is using the "9" to help distinguish the set from the original Metropolitan Police Detective Love Story.
The video game Titan Hunter mentioned by the Detective Boys at the beginning of the first part appears to be based on the manga title Attack on Titan.
