Shuho Kondo (近藤 秀峰 Kondō Shūhō?) is a Japanese television producer from Shogakukan. Meanwhile he also served as Gosho Aoyama's editor during the 2009-2013 period[citation needed].

Biography

Shuho Kondo graduated from Waseda University Faculty of Law (早稲田大学法学部). While he was working at publishing house Shogakukan, he was responsible for liaising with the mangaka Gosho Aoyama and coordinating the production budget for the Detective Conan manga[1].

Kondo loved classical literature when young; he read Journey to the West (西游记) in elementary school and Romance of the Three Kingdoms (三国演义) after entering high school. Notably, he declared that he loved the latter in particular and kept a Japanese version in both his hometown and his home in Tokyo, which he often reads. What is more, character Taka'aki Morofushi was invented by him during his time serving as manga editor at Weekly Shounen Sunday, with inspirations taken from Romance of the Three Kingdoms[2].

Furthermore, Kondo holds a prominent position (as producer) in the production of Detective Conan annual movies, starting with The Darkest Nightmare(movie 20). For example, he led the production team to replace Katsuo Ohno with Yugo Kanno for music composition of the movies; but also he was the one who suggested to hire aiko for the movie theme of The Million-dollar Pentagram(movie 27).
