- Despite the Crunchyroll English subbed version of the case using "The Lover Who Vanished on Pont Koitani", the bridge itself is not officially named "Pont Koitani", and tourism sites have been using "Koitani Bridge" as an English translation. This may linked to the fact that when French ambassador to Japan Bernard Dorin came to the valley of the Misasa River in Misasa in 1987 at the beginning of his tenure, he nicknamed the place the "Vallée de l'Amour" (lit. Valley of Love). In 2011, a movie filmed in the area was released under the name "Koitanibashi : La Vallee de l'amour" (恋谷橋La Vallee de l'amour). Hence, the bridge's name "Koitani" translates to "Love (恋) Valley (谷)". The word "pont" in the English title is the French word for "bridge". Additionally, the reading of the bridge's name in the Japanese title, "Koitanibashi", is erroneous, as the local reading is "Koitanihashi", without the dakuten on the "ha" sound[1]. This is reflected on the bridge's name sign on one of its pillars.
- The previous Mystery Tour to have aired in Tottori Prefecture, Tottori Sand Dunes Mystery Tour, in 2015, is directly referenced in the episode. Not only the two anime-original detectives from that reappeared, but they referenced the Kumado family ransom case from that Mystery Tour.
- The Utsubukis (宇津吹) are named after Mount Utsubuki (打吹山), an important mountain in neighboring Kurayoshi City.
