They are annoying because they are too normal. In anime, we want them having a little special characteristics and probably everyone is looking for this 'gentle' and 'kind' image from the girl but she has more temper and does more unwanted stuff than expected so people start hating her. Same to Ran. Too normal. People prefer the characters to have a distinct image or characteristic. So I suppose when this girl is sometimes soft, crying and weak and indecisive, but sometimes abnormally strong and morally high and difficult to understand her, she'll turn into an annoyance. D: But personally, I like Haibara better. I don't hate Ran though.

I think the scariest character is okiyaaaaaaa!!! He has no eyes!!!!!! XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD and genta!!!!!!!! He has a triangular head!!!!! XD hahaha xD joking aside, I think anokata is the scariest. He needs no presence. Nothing is known about him and yet everyone knows him as the head or mastermind controlling all these other scary creatures... Next is probably Gin, due to his intelligence and ruthlessness. Then probably Vermouth...
