It's by the same developer. It's as good as Monster Hunter. I'll tell you this: Monster Hunter may have a larger bestiary (collections of beasts/monsters), but Dragon's Dogma has a richer gameplay. I think Dragon's Dogma is better, more or less. Search videos on youtube. I guarantee you'll love the game. Dragon's Dogma is like "Skyrim + Monster Hunter."
