Oom Shinrikyo is nothing like the BO. They eventually found the suspects responsible, plus the B.O. wouldn't go through the trouble of creating such a big-name case when they're main priority is remaining hidden. You could've been talking about the Yakuza earlier, but in the end there is no organization like the B.O. As long as humans are humans mistakes are made, some of which become the death of them. The B.O.'s code for wearing black is probably loosely based on how Crips wear blue and Bloods wear red (gangs in Cali, U.S.). But in the end Japan's peaceful (too peaceful) that it's oblivious to the cold world the other countries have become, so even if there was an organization like the B.O. no one would suspect a thing, plus Gosho would've been dead by now (accidental of course ).

います in past tense is いました. Example sentence: *私はさっきからずっと走っていました。 *I have been running for a while. Karewa（彼は）and Kanojo （彼女は）doesn't mean "I," they mean: Karewa: He (is) Kanojowa: She (is) Also keep this in mind. When writing/typing "wa" after nouns (kare, kanojo, karera etc...) write/type it as は(ha). Why? I don't know, just a rule that's been in effect for thousands of years. BTW, ANNOUNCEMENT! Here is a blog/archive Kaoko created containing every lesson that's happened in this thread for everyone's reference. My translation: Somewhere, a small voice could be heard. "Heave ho, heave ho. It's heavy." It was a bud of a fuki near the bamboo forest. Popping his head up from under the snow, trying very hard to push the snow away "Heave ho, heave ho. I want to see the outside." Please note that よいしょ、 よいしょdoesn't exactly mean heave ho. It's basicly a phrase that describes when the person (or thing) is panting. In this case, the fuki (a japanese plant) is panting from pushing the snow off of him.

I don't mind, due to me being in a different time zone I might not be able to answer every question in real-time. Though it looks like Cheesus did a great job. Girl is written as おんなのこBTW. You forgot the ん. Also, this is how they are written in kanji (with hiragana mixed in). 男の子 女の子 There's another way of writing them (just remove the no and change the pronounciation). Danshi 男子 Jyoshi 女子 We'll go into the different pronounciations later though. Hope you don't mind that I kinda taught an advanced lesson Kaoko.

We're both sensei's. Kaoko's just teaching everybody on here the basics. We're also working on an archive for those who joined during the middle who wants to start from scratch. BTW, while Kaoko is teaching hiragana (and eventually katakana) feel free to ask any questions regarding translations, phrases etc... I'll answer them to the best of my ability.

Speaking of the black organization, can anyone guess how big the organization actually is? It's obviously not just the 6 people we see everytime. It's got enough members so that a member killing themselves, or ordered to be murdered, wouldn't change a thing. Plus thoughts Sherry had of an army (or something close to it) of them could just be a fraction of the big picture.

I see. If you're studying second grade Japanese that means (or I think it means) that you've learned hiragana and katakana. Let's see how far we can go with out current system. When the basics are over we can just make it up as well go along, lol.

That's a good idea. Then how about you keep teaching the basics and I'll answer any questions you (and the others) have in between each lesson? I'll try to keep them in a simple 1 reply post system so the thread doesn't get messy.

Well I can't disagree since learning the basics is pivotal when learning any language. But wouldn't it be confusing if we had random lessons (people asking questions/translations) while a on-going lesson is in session?

They're called characters. There 48 of them (in the most modern order). But the order (and number of characters in the order) have changed since they were first introduced.

You've pretty much got most of it. Here's my translation: While soaking up the morning sun, the bamboo leaves in the bamboo forest (were whispering,) "It was very cold wasn't it?" "Yes, very cold." There was a little snow left, Everywhere around them was silent. I fused the 5th line of the original Japanese story with the 2nd line so it'd make sense in english. Hope this helps Kaoko. Nice job with the hiragana lesson BTW.

Neither do I. But there are a lot of eps that feature his inventions and traps. Plus he even has his own keyhole in the manga (I think).

^Everyone can join. Officer Kaoko and I made this thread so that everyone could benefit. They're all words that mean "me" or "myself." The difference between them is how they're used. Ore is used in a sort of casual way, whereas Watashi is formal. Another difference is who uses them. Like how Atashi is usually used by females and Washi is usually used by older people. Also, Ware means "we" (as in a group) rather than just yourself. Hope this makes sense ^^;.

Like I said, a lot of J-Pop groups have a dance for almost every song they release. It's like ever since the K-Pop invasion and Soulja Boy boom, everyone needs a dance to a song for it to become a hit.
