  1. Looks like the Podcast called it. Tokyo Spirits and a Bombing. Although, I'm wondering.... It's the Spirits vs Big Osaka. Chances of a Heiji appearance?
  2. Thank you everyone, for the birthday wishes!

  3. According to Detective Koushin, where Heiji and Saguru do meet, the real Hakuba annoys Heiji more than 'Kid as Saguru' does. Personally, in retrospect, I thought the biggest sign that Kid was Hakuba was the fact that he was wearing a polo shirt and blue jeans. We NEVER see Saguru in casual clothes. Even when he's on vacation, he's still wearing slacks and a button down dress shirt. ^^;; Awesome link, Chek! Thank You!
  4. did anyone else catch the various references on the TV shows? Yaiba, early Magic Kaito, Yamato Kensuke (the insperatiin for our Kan-chan) and several more !
  5. hmmm... The suspenders remain a favourite, but as someone who wears glasses, bullet-resistant glasses with night vision and zoom? Sign me up, please!

  9. As some of you listening to the podcast know, I'm currently travelling around England, spending most of the past week in Liverpool, with a quick jot down to London to watch David Tennant and Catherine Tate (Doctor Who fans might recognise them as Doctor 10 and Donna) in Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing. But upon arriving on Friday, the first thing we did after checking into the hotel was go to the Sherlock Holmes Museum at 221B Baker Street. And I had the pleasure of meeting one Doctor John Watson, and gaining his autograph. Photographs are allowed in the Museum, and many pictures were taken. Photographs can be found here: https://picasaweb.google.com/107494551531674666123/221BBakerStreet It's a great deal of fun spotting all the references to the books. Cheers!

  15. It really is an awesome diagram! I like the umbrella idea, but offer up an alternative suggestion: A Sheet. Or a table cloth. I'd worry about the prongs of the umbrella getting caught up on the grill or the bars of the railing, especially with a long blade attached to it. (says the person who has problems keeping a brolly open or shut as it's supposed to be ^^; If the weapon has a loop on an end to tie a string to rather than tying it in the middle, it'll keep it from getting snagged quite so easily. A sheet would give more coverage area to guard against splatter, particularly the feet area, and you can stab through it. The corner of the fabric could account for the v-shaped void in the blood spatter. I'd say a tarp or a sheet of plastic, but there were a couple of comments about 'cloth' rustling, and it is a different sound. The old man is the most suspicious, IMHO. If nothing else than because he's so incredibly helpful... Especially pointing out physical characteristics that aim the investigation towards other people.
  16. On the Shonen Sunday page, they just released the top 5 cases for the 15th Anniversary Poll, as of 26 Jan. 1位…No.72 命がけの復活[第3の選択/黒衣の騎士] Episodes 191 - 193: The Desperate Revival 2位…No.18 ピアノソナタ「月光」殺人事件 Episode 11: The Moonlight Sonata Murders Case 3位…No.102 工藤新一NY[ニューヨーク]の事件 Episodes 286 & 287: Shin'ichi Kudou's NY Case 4位…No.107 揺れる警視庁 1200万人の人質 Episode 304: Trembling Metropolitan Police Headquarters 12 Million Hostages (the Tokyo Tower case) 5位…No.84 大阪"3つのK"事件 Episodes 237 & 238: Osaka 3 "K" Case -the numbers refer to the case number, not the manga file or episodes. Polling closes on 1 March, you can still vote here
  17. I haven't used mIRC in *mumblesome* years, but wouldn't mind re-acquainting with it. ^^
  18. Oh, wow! Thank you CarpetCrawler! *squees over the cultural information*
  19. Yup, both the anime and the manga. Manga is absolutely beautiful, love the comedy episodes of the anime. "I'm a canned tuna!"

    .

    I've enjoyed both the manga and the anime. Not so much the live action, not quite as much to my taste. But I love the characters and the twists on the plots are interesting. It's done by the same people who did Kindaichi.
  21. We've got two updates as of today. The first one is that in honour of 15 movies and years of anime, they're hosting a poll for your favourite animated cases. Website and Poll Here Polling starts Midnight, 19 Jan and runs through 11:59pm, 1 March. On the Shonen Sunday Conan Page, there are some lovely pictures of Conan and Ran, and Conan and Heiji. They're for a new mobile phone detective game, which costs 315yen per month, not including data usage. First stage is Nara, and if I'm reading the translations correctly, is based around the Man'yōshū, or Collection of Ten Thousand Leaves". It's the oldest collection of Japanese Poetry, consisting of 20 volumes compiled sometime during the Nara Period, AD 710 to 794.
  22. Movie 14, Lost Ship in the Sky, has just been nominated for the 3rd annual DEG Japan Awards/Blu-ray Prizes in the 'Best Interactivity Category'. It's up against 'Summer Wars' and the 'Alien' Anthology (yes, the one with Sigourney Weaver). Last year's movie, Raven Chaser, won in this category. Source: Anime News Network and DEG Japan
  23. Used to do MSN all the time, then they got really unstable and would randomly kick people off. Now use AIM a lot, as well as Google Chat. Skype when I remember to pull it up, but only have a few people on that. ^^;;
