LESSON 1: ㄱ ㄱ is one of the Korean consonants, and is pronounced with a hard g sound, i.e as in God or guard. ㄱ is written with two strokes. 1) Starting from the left, a stroke is made to the right. 2) Continuing at the end of the first stroke, another stroke is made down. *shown above* Examples of words with ㄱ: 고 [goh] - means go. No, seriously, it means go, as in GO! Not the game. Loanword from English. 강아지 [gahng ah jee] - means dog. 경찰차 [gyung chahl chah] - police car. 경찰서 [gyung chahl suh] - police station/department. *more examples to come* If you wish, you may practice writing ㄱ.
