If you are for traditional Japanese history and folklore, you can also try the Legendary Musings of Professor Munakata.

Fate/stay night (all three routes) has a bit of mystery because Master and Servant identities are unknown. Fate/Zero is less mystery, since all Master and Servant identities barring one are revealed almost immediately, but it's a stellar thriller to make up for it.
