can anybody tell me what is vermouth is referring in these panels. I searched thoroughly in the manga series as well as the anime but couldn't findthe related chapter/episode. Please help me

he is shown in the vampire mansion arc "rikushige kago" he often keeps his eyes closed. and whenever he open, its only the right eye always. also in that arc haibara was absent. so she could not have seen him.
