There has never been any separate thread that discusses about The Miyanos themselves, so I decided to make one. Known facts about Atsushi Miyano. Known facts about Elena Miyano. Known facts about Akemi Miyano. Known facts about Shiho Miyano. (I'm sorry, they are too long so I cannot write it down myself). If anyone have theories or speculations about this topic, they can post it here.1 point

We've made the following configuration changes to the forum: - You may now only change your Display Name once within 60 days and after reaching 750 approved posts. However, donators can still change their Display Name 3 times in 30 days without any minimum post count. - A new sub-forum was created in the Games forum called "Forum games". Since we've had lots of "forum games" topics cluttering the "Games" forum, this new forum will now serve those types of games exclusively. - Posts made in the "Forum games" forum won't increase your post count anymore (again to prevent excessive abuse of the current system, even if involuntary, and further promote DC-related discussions instead). Thank you!1 point

Kogoro just does/says the wrong thing at the wrong time. I think he just says the first thing that comes to mind, and since he is famous he might expect people to listen to him because he has solved so many cases. Although he does get a lot of help when making deductions, he doesn't get much help when he says something really stupid directly to Eri. (Only if Conan was a love doctor he would be able to help Korogo out LOL)1 point

it's not that the section is unworthy of being counted, per se, it's that it's the section that most commonly gets spammed... some people only want the status symbol of having a high post count, and will do anything to get it, even if it means making meaningless posts it ruins it for the legitimate users, but that's the way things go sometimes1 point

Not to insult anybody or anything, but why does it matter if people spam the games forum and get posts from it? If they want to, fine, and theycan get posts from it. People are here because they love DC, and they found the games, met new people, had fun, and got some posts and recognition in the process. So what exactly? What's wrong with the games forum again? Why does everybody appear to think those posts aren't worthy? (why am I still up at 1 o'clock in the morning talking about this?) People come on for fun. Some people would rather not think too hard and just make friends and brag about their posts. Almost everybody looks forward to that 500th post whether you achieved it through gaming or actual 'quality' posting. It's a moment where you've realized that you care about this website and don't abandon it for other places that we think are cooler. Okay, my paragraph is a huge, garbled, confusing MESS because I can't think straight, so I'll spare you all the crazy wants-to-be-a-lawyer-typing-this-on-an-itouch teenage girl rant and sum it up. What's the purpose of this exactly? Why do we deem having fun unworthy of being counted, and why does everybody suddenly have something against games and believe that because you don't count game posts people shall abandon them and give all the newest juicy spoilers to the end of DC? If we had them we'd have shared them long ago. Aaaaand that's that. Good night. If I don't come on tomorrow, it's because I only got five hours of sleep. I blame Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy. Hope you bothered to read. If not, oh well.1 point

I started this elsewhere, but I figured it would be nice to have here too. This is a list of which character is displayed in the keyhole on the back cover of each volume of the manga: 1 Kudo Shinichi 2 Mouri Ran 3 Mouri Kogoro 4 Megure Juzo 5 Agasa Hiroshi 6 Yoshida Ayumi 7 Yokomizo Sango 8 Suzuki Sonoko 9 Kojima Genta 10 Hattori Heiji 11 Kisaki Eri 12 Tsuburaya Mitsuhiko 13 Suzuki Ayako 14 Kudo Yukiko 15 Hattori Heizo 16 Kaitou KID 17 Okino Yoko 18 Haibara Ai 19 Toyama Kazuha 20 Takagi Wataru 21 Sato Miwako 22 Kudo Yuusaku 23 Shiratori Ninzaburo 24 Araide Tomaki 25 Kyougoku Makoto 26 Vermouth 27 Yamamura Misao 28 Hattori Shizuka 29 Megure Midori 30 Hakuba Saguru 31 Mr.Toyama 32 Inspector Otaki 33 Officer Chiba That's as many volumes as have been released in English so far... I'll continue to update as I get more of them1 point

This couple is strange because it appears at first to be the very competent woman lawyer and the incompetent man detective, while in fact Kogoro is far from being a bad detective. Kogoro is not as intelligent as Shinichi, Heiji or Masumi but, when he acts seriously, his reasonings are clearly superior to those of the police. He's able to make reasonings that even the police (especially Megure) aren't able to follow, even though he needs Conan's help to dodge the "tricks" of the culprits. And, even though he makes mistakes in his reasonings, he's still one of the most determined investigators of the series: he always investigates thoroughly a case until he honestly thinks he has solved it and he's more interested to see the culprit being exposed than he is to be paid (he never turned down money when he's offered but, when a crime happens randomly nearby, he never asks for it and investigates for free). When we consider it, it's a quality that few characters of the series possess in fact (mainly the high-school detectives). I think, if Kogoro was more often serious, their couple would have been the most dangerous of the whole series, the perfect combination of the investigation and the law.1 point

If you meant the meaning of the Kanji 志保 , then I don't know =_= I just know that the name "Shiho" might come from "Sherlock Holmes"... Anyway, has anyone ever wondered why Ai's parents were given such nicknames ? You know, "Mad Scientist" and "Hell Angel" ? "Mad Scientist" is common in fictions, so I don't see any specialty. "Hell Angel", on the other hand, sounds much creepier. Not Lucifer/Satan/Demon/Devil... It's "Hell Angel". Despite the fact that she seems to have a nice personality. Haibara once described that Elena was known in the Org. as the kind of person "who didn't talk much and acted mysteriously, nobody knew what she was thinking" (Vol 41). That doesn't tell us a thing, many people in the BO also have such personality, not to mention that it is not a suitable thing to call mysterious people. To be called something like "Hell Angel", you need to have a high "evil-degree"... I've read somewhere in DCTP that the nickname "Hell Angel" of Elena might be given by Vermouth (you know, the "Angel" part...) And it somehow got spread widely within the Organization. Although I'm pretty sure that it was just a behind-the-back-nickname, I think Elena was aware of this... There could be many reasons why she has got that nickname: 1. Her research was going "against the stream of time", or in other words, "against the will of God", which Vermouth doesn't seem to like. "Hell Angel" probably means Fallen Angel. This theory is the most likely in my opinion, and many people has also come up with it. 2. If the Vermouth theory was correct, then Elena might have been Vermouth's "Angel" in the past (before she met Ran). Elena might be the person whom Vermouth once looked up to, but she ended up betraying her. She might have taken advantage of Vermouth and used her as a guinea-pig for the experiments. Therefore Vermouth held a grudge against her and named her "Hell Angel", which was even worse than "Fallen Angel". But since Sharon has already stated: "No angel has smiled upon me. Not even once.", this theory is rather unlikely. 3. If Elena is actually Vermouth (which I find unlikely), then she is referring to herself as "Hell Angel". Which means that Vermouth might have been a good person in the past (Angel), but for some reasons she "fell" and ended up in "Hell" (BO). This explains why she is always waiting for a "silver bullet" to come and destroy the Org. P/S: Edited.1 point

I love her, and I just started to love what she loved, so... Yeah... But I respect AiCons. Sorry Akai! I couldn't help it! I hope you understand!1 point
