Biography

After working at an advertising agency, Yasumi Mikamoto joined Mushi Production in 1975 and worked there notably on TV commercials. After moving to Tokyo Movie (subsidiary of SEGA), he worked as an assistant director under Director Takahata. At Tokyo Movie's American subsidiary, he began working mainly on animated joint productions with foreign countries. After that, he moved to Disney Japan and worked for Sunrise and Animaruya, but in recent years, he has returned to domestic production and has been doing a lot of directing work for Tokyo Movie.

Mikamoto's career with Detective Conan was short lived, being only from 2002 to 2005, but many cases were storyboarded.
