Yakumaru (薬丸 Yakumaru) is a character in the manga and anime franchise Detective Conan.
Contents
Background
Yakumaru is a Ministry of Health's narcotics officer and investigator for at least a while, since he is put on a big case. He is also a pharmaceutical student at an university in Osaka and lives near Kazuha's home. He has at disposition many men who can use in missions, which proposes his rank is high. He is also the one directly contacting the head of investigations of the Ministry of Health. He has a certain basis in knowledge about pharma and drugs, which gave him the opportunity to be hired.
Personality
He is serious on mission and does the job right. He can easily camouflage himself, since Heiji mistook him for a drug dealer. He is pretty kind towards Kazuha, since she is his neighbor, and even orders his men to protect her, which Heiji thought was a kidnapping.
Appearance
He is a tall and skinny young man. He has white dyed hair and is dressed leniently, since he needs to do so to blend in with the drug dealers. He also has a lizard-shaped black tatto and a piercing on his nose. He has light beard. His appearance is allowed by the Ministry of Health, since he is not exactly a police detective.

Name origin
His name comes from "drugs" (麻薬 mayaku), which is the main focus of the case he appears in.
