Amaranth likes Greek mythology, classical music, fantasy, poetry, and fanfiction. Her former username was Nobody, which she chose because she considers it fun to be "nobody". She enjoys writing poems and fanfiction, prefering to write stories when she feels happy and poems when she is sad. However, she admits that her writing skill is far from satisfactory and has taken a long hiatus from writing on Fanfiction.net. Her favorite anime is Code Geass, followed by Detective Conan.

Name Origin

Amaranth's original username was "Nobody", but she changed it to Amaranth on November 2011, at the same time that she deleted all of 150 pages of comments on her profile, saying that she wanted a fresh start. The name Amaranth was derived from the Greek amarantus, the name of a mythical flower believed to grow on Mount Olympus that never fades even if deprived of care and attention. Obviously, she likes names from Greek mythology, and uses the name Calliope, muse of eloquence and epic poetry, for her DCTP account. Her former username Nobody was taken from The Odyssey. Odysseus is her favorite character in Greek mythology and she felt inspired by the episode where Odysseus and his men were trapped in the cave of the Cyclops Polyphemus and he used the name "Nobody" to deceive the Cyclops. Also, when reading the wiki bios of DCW members, she saw IdentityUnknown's page and reasoned that if they have an Identity Unknown, they should also have a Nobody. She often enjoyed using the double-meaning of her name in jokes with other members. Finally, she changed it after Chelsea said that she "detests it because no one can ever be nobody."

Personality

She is sometimes labelled as a weirdo and often feels out of place. Before transferring to a new school, she was rather shy and preferred to chat with only a few select friends. However after a year, she became friendlier than ever before. She is a loyal friend and does her best not to break a good friend's trust in her. She is a melancholic introvert by nature who often spends time brooding over life, but is quite friendly and talkative around the people who are close to her on this site. Some of her many weaknesses are her mood swings and her extreme irritation whenever she is paired with anyone, even in a joke.

Languages Spoken

Although she was born and raised in the Philippines, English is her first and primary language. Over the years, she has gained fluency in Filipino, and uses it about 50% of the time on the site. She can also understand a few words in the dialect Cebuano.

They first met on fanfiction.net when Koizumi Akako, under the penname Chelseaj500, reviewed one of Amaranth's fanfiction stories. It was also after reading Chelsea's story Into the World of Detective Conan that she decided to join DCW. Chelsea calls her Ama-chan, a nickname derived from Nobody's fanfiction.net username, Amaranta-chan. As a sign of gratitude, Amaranth wrote a story about Chelsea entitled Akako's Apprentice which remains unfinished. She admires Chelsea's talents in writing, drawing, and creating AMVs. Chelsea is unique among the people Amaranth has met on DCW both for her insane laugh and her courage to set the trend and venture into new horizons. Although they do not chat often, she feels that Chelsea is one of the few people that she and all of DCW cannot live without.

Kid the Phantom Thief

Kid the Phantom Thief was the first one to welcome her on DCW. He calls her Somebody to point out that she is not "nobody." He is friendly to anyone and is an excellent conversationist. Amaranth enjoys chatting with him, especially when she feels lonely and needs encouraging, and has often claimed that his avatar never fails to cheer her up when she feels depressed. She treats him like a real brother. Amaranth feels sad that recently, KtPT has not been as active as before, and she misses his presence very much.

She and Lady Irene Adler/Shiraz.BO are "triplets" with her. IU is the youngest and she is the oldest, at least as far as DCW is concerned. Amaranth turns to her for advice when she feels discouraged or needs help, especially with the stories she writes. IdentityUnknown is one of the people she highly respects, the others being Aeyra and Mohorovicic.

Moonlight Magician

He comes from the same country as she, so they frequently chat using their native language. Amaranth's nickname for him is Master M, which she changed to Moon-kun when he changed his username to Blue-Sky. He is her best friend on DCW. Amaranth chats with him whenever she has the chance for she finds him lots of fun to talk to. When he and most of the other active DCW members began showing up less often than before, she was greatly affected emotionally, and realized just how attached she had become to DCW in the past few months, so she resolved to learn to live without it. It took her weeks to get over this, and just when she thought she succeeded, Moonlight Magician (as Blue-Sky) and Kid the Phantom thief showed up again, so her plan failed. At present, the two still talk, though not as often as before as they are both busy with their college work.

Meitantei Kudo-kun

She calls him her pare, or close friend. He is from the same country as her. He jokes often, once to the point of annoying Amaranth. However, she has gotten used to this and is on very good terms with him. He is extremely talented in the art of philosophizing and might possibly equal Aristotle and the ancient Greek philosophers in this. They chat often and as of now, MKK has made the most comments on Amaranth's profile.

BK201

BK is another special friend of Amaranth, whom she calls Dear. In turn, BK's term of endearment for her is older sister in their language, which is ironic because Amaranth is the younger of the two. Most of their conversations are through the Filipino Chatroom on DCW or the Filipino Thread on DCTP. She feels that she can relate with BK201 for both of them feel worthless and act emo at times.

• Lady Irene Adler, who claims to have changed her display name because of hurricane Irene, is her other twin on DCW.
• conankoibito is one of the first members Amaranth met on DCW. It was when they were chatting with Moonlight Magician that Amaranth suggested putting up a Pinoy Club. Conankoibito and Nobody are from the same city, but they have never met in real life.
• Patronus Charm is the founder of the Filipino Classroom and Chatroom which was created in order for Filipinos to connect with each other. Since its creation, it has been quite active compared with the other language chatrooms.
• Kaitou Kid Legendary Thief Her opinion of KKLT is that she is friendly and fun-loving. They are not very close, but they talk every once in a while in the chatroom.
• True-Tears, or Rose, whom she nicknamed "Sai-chan" from her original display name XxxMiss-AixxX, often chatted with her in the past, but she has not been so active lately. Ro0ose sometimes turns to her for advice and although Amaranth considers herself a failure when it comes to counseling, she tries her best to cheer up and encourage Rose when she can.
