Situation

Part 1

Sonoko tricks Ran into attending a cooking class by famous French chef Miehi Uemori, and in order to go she invites her father and Conan. When the group arrives, they learn everyone seems to have something against the instructor, but when the lights go out Uemori gets stabbed in the back and her lung is punctured causing her to die. Now Conan and Kogoro have to decipher four suspects's agendas against her, but can they find the killer?

Part 2

All four students are found to be suspects in Uemori's murder, and it appears a needle or another small object is to be to blame. Conan begins to search for locations that could hide a needle. Can any person be proven to be the culprit?

Everyone had HUGE reasons to be angry at Miehi Uemori, since she crapped on each one big time. Mrs. Yashiro, because 30 years ago Uemori stole her then-boyfriend and married him without any regards to their long-time friendship; Kaoru, because Uemori's son Tatsuhiko was an abusive husband (in fact, her eyepatch covered a black eye he just gave her during a fight) and Uemori kept backing him up; Yuko, because Uemori stole all of her original recipes to make them pass as her own in her next cooking book; Nishitani, because Uemori refused to sponsor him and favored someone else, thus seriously damaging his dream to open his own restaurant. The killer was actually Nishitani... but not for her lack of support, but because he was in love with Yuko and wanted to avenge how Uemori ruined the career of the girl he liked.

The killing weapon was a very thin sewing needle, which Nishitani hid in his fountain pen. When the trick to turn the lights on worked, he took it out and swiftly pierced Uemori's lung with it, knowing that due to her respiratory problems she would soon die. To not harm his fingers, he used a ring to push the needle further, and then took it out pulling the string tied to it; this was easily seen when it turned out Nishitani was the only person among the suspects wearing a ring in his fingers.
