For your tireless efforts in updating and contributing to the wiki in a caring way. Even though we've had disagreements about specific topics, your dedication and motivation make you a real example of an hard working contributor. Thank you and keep it up! - Maurice 02:46, 23 June 2011 (UTC)

Serious?

When you said "Good job uploading" on this article during your previous edit, were you being serious or sarcastic? If you were serious, thank you. Online communication can be tough sometimes, so I wanted to check first before jumping to conclusions. Thanks. --Jigsaw 04:03, 18 August 2011 (UTC)

Just making sure you weren't being sarcastic. I had noticed you moved the People section characters to the Cast section, so I wasn't sure if maybe I placed them incorrectly and upset you. Not all Wikipedia and Wikia users are "friendly" I guess you could say, so I didn't want to jump to conclusions in case you were just being friendly (which you were). Sorry about that. Sometimes it's hard to communicate online I guess. lol And thank you again for your kind words. I appreciate it. :) --Jigsaw 04:55, 18 August 2011 (UTC)

Agreement

Yeah you're right, huh? So can you delete them? I agree on Sato's picture-I'll stop reverting them-but a new look may be better once in a while, I think. Thank you! -Formmy

Problem

We got a problem. This user Daniel46 is creating a character profile of the principal of Teitan elementary school. You got to do something. It's regular people character.

RE: Question

Yes i'm sure. They are in the episode preview. --Viva cmpunker 2:11, 15 September 2011 (UTC)

Re: Hiroshi Agasa's name in different articles

I'm not exactly the ultimate authority on the matter, but my opinion is that for the cast of characters on the episodes/manga chapters we should use the terms most often associated with the character. Obviously not something like "Conan-kun" instead of "Conan Edogawa", but for characters like Hiroshi Agasa and Juzo Megure refer to them as the other characters do more frequently: Professor Agasa and Inspector Megure. We're not used to hearing their first names in use by others, so this makes more sense. In short to answer your question, "Professor Agasa" since "professor" was the term used in the original Japanese. --Skyechan 00:08, 30 August 2011 (UTC)

I really think Professor Agasa makes more sense. --Skyechan 00:27, 1 September 2011 (UTC)

Clearlefts

As a heads up, it's better to leave the picture right justified and put the clearleft at the end of the paragraph. You don't make massive spaces between the text that way. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 20:50, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

Something like this usually looks good. Just use whatever way works as long as there aren't large gaps if possible. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 20:59, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
You can also experiment around with the {{clear}} function as well which puts enough space across the page so every picture "stays" with its individual paragraph. Like clearleft it goes at the end of a section. "Clear" has been used on pages like recurring minor characters to make sure each character's picture stays across from the title. Maybe clear would work better here? Chekhov MacGuffin talk 21:06, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

RE: Anime episode guide

Hmmm. Well, as far as I can tell, Wikipedia is correct. The DVD 19-10 includes episodes 602, 603, 604, and 605, meaning that Season 20 officially starts at episode 606, unless a DVD 19-11 is released at a later date. This isn't my expertise however, so don't take my word for it. Skyechan could probably give you a more definitive answer, as she purchases the DVDs (whereas I do not). --Jigsaw 02:38, 15 September 2011 (UTC)

RE: Favor

It's done. Just add the parameters: nolink-father=true and/or nolink-mother=true to remove links for each or both parents. --Maurice talk 13:56, 22 September 2011 (UTC)

Changing picture

Hey, can you change the 100px pictures of Akako Koizumi, Chikage Kuroba, Aoko Nakamori, Ginzo Nakamori into color backgrounds. Please.

Placement of Info Boxes

The Info Boxes are effectively summaries to the whole episode. Stylistically, they should therefore be placed in an introductionary position, i.e. at the BEGINNING of a plot decription. It's no good splitting up the main text with them just because your predecessors thought that this looked "cooler" instead of stylistically acceptable, especially in a quasi-encyclopedic site.

Or, if I may ask, do you set any introductionary summaries right into the middle of your own written texts? Like in this (admittedly abstract) example of a job application letter:

  • "I am 24 years old, and I have a bachelor degree in chemistry.
"Application request for a full-time job in your company
"I have also had internships and gathered practical experience and blah blah blah ..."

Frankly: Would you send off a letter of application away like that?

Please consider that before you attempt to maintain (if I may express it thus) the continuous stylistic havoc on this site. I intend to correct these misplacements as fast as I can spend time on them, but with the multitude of entries, it will take a while, so please bear with me.

Sincerely yours, Daniel46 22:25, 25 September 2011 (UTC)

Still I think this is the wrong style. I mean, it's like placing the headline of a newspaper article into the middle of the main text. I guess any newspaper editor would be so thrilled at this innovation. Should I try to contact them and confer their answers to Maurice for reference, what do you think?
Sincerely yours,Daniel46 05:58, 27 September 2011 (UTC)

Class 1-B

Next time, I'd appreciate a heads up before you mainspaced a project I had been working on. It's only polite. If you just wanted to edit it, you could have edited the sub-page - I explicitly have given permission to do that. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 06:04, 10 October 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for adding in the missing cases btw. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 00:34, 11 October 2011 (UTC)

Racing

While adding new information is definitely a good thing to do, remember that quality is better than quantity. I've seen more than 20 edits from you in less than 10 minutes, each adding nothing more than TV Original to an episode's infobox. I'm not sure if you think this is a race or a contest or something, or if you just want to accumulate a lot of edits, but taking it slowly and actually adding more information than one simple copy and paste is better in the long run. I only say this because I noticed that you started making these swarms of edits after I started updating episodes myself. Try adding things like Opening songs, Closing songs, English titles (if applicable), Suspects, Next Conan's Hint, etc when you make such edits. Of course, there's no rule against what you are doing, but it's just kind of irritating to see the the Recent Updates page spammed with multiple minor edits that I can't hide when viewing... --Jigsaw 01:15, 11 October 2011 (UTC)

Oh I know you are just trying to help. And it's greatly appreciated. Edits keep this Wikia updated. It's just hard to sort through non-related edits when the Recent changes page is swarmed by a lot of identical edits all at once. When I do that sort of thing (i.e. Sorting multiple images into categories), I click the "This is a minor edit" box in order to allow people the option of hiding my edits with the click of a button. If you plan on continuing these repeated copy-and-paste +42 edits that you've been doing, it would be super helpful if you'd click the previously mentioned box so that I can sort through other edits. Of course, if you add more information than just the +42 "TV Original" edits, you don't have to click the box. Just use your best judgment I suppose. Again, this isn't a rule or requirement; just my personal preference. --Jigsaw 01:29, 11 October 2011 (UTC)

No Problem

It was an easy mistake, and you meant well, you did what anybody else would do. Plus you've learned from the mistake anyway. You were only trying to help :) Speaking of that Gallery I'm going to try and finish it today!! Hstar 15:46, 13 October 2011 (UTC)

Bad Manners

You do realize that it is incredibly bad manners to plug a vote on other people's pages, right? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Canvassing Encourage them to vote, but don't tell them how. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 17:41, 29 October 2011 (UTC)

Realize something I said was a bit ambiguous. I'm referring to user pages, not the main article talk. You can put you opinion there all you want. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 20:41, 29 October 2011 (UTC)

Amuro

Considering the very heavy speculation that he is Bourbon, and that in 795 he starts working at Poirot and becomes Kogoro's apprentice, all signs point to Amuro being an important character. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 22:44, 31 October 2011 (UTC)

I would add him. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 22:53, 31 October 2011 (UTC)

Jigsaw

The reason why Jigsaw has asked you to wait until he finishes is because you are giving him the edit conflict notice. These happen when someone else edits while you are. When you get them it is confusing to figure out what was changed and it is really easy to accidentally undo the changes someone else just made. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 17:30, 19 November 2011 (UTC)

Chekhov summed things up pretty well. Fixing up this article has been one of my side projects, slowly gaining momentum over the past few weeks. You made several good edits and fixed some mistakes I made, both of which are appreciated, but for the time being, I'd like to work without the edit conflicts. After I'm all done, you can edit to your hearts content. Thank you for your hard work and dedication! I'll let you know when I'm all done. :) --Jigsaw 17:46, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
Not done yet. I just didn't want to leave you hanging so I opened a new window and commented on your Talk page. Like I said before, I'll let you know when I'm done. --Jigsaw 17:50, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
Although it is not finished yet, I have to leave the article as it is for the time being. I'm hoping to finish up my edits either tonight or tomorrow. In the meantime, however, feel free to edit and fix the article. Thank you for being patient. :) --Jigsaw 19:19, 19 November 2011 (UTC)

Bullet points

Please don't put bullet points in the Name Origin section. They aren't lists. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 23:03, 23 November 2011 (UTC)

Mistake!

Please ignore previous questions; misread history information. Sorry about that! :) --Skyechan 04:29, 24 November 2011 (UTC)

Re: Wait

If you'd read carefully through the discussion you'd figure out what I'm doing. Midori does NOT need a profile page, she's listed on Minor recurring characters. I'm in the process of removing unnecessary profile pages and editing the character list. All information about characters whose profile pages are being deleted are simply being moved to the list pages. Another list is in progress on my profile page at the moment that will eventually become the Notable case characters list. --Skyechan 19:12, 25 November 2011 (UTC)

Those characters should be linked to their names in the Notable cases or Minor recurring lists. --Skyechan 19:19, 25 November 2011 (UTC)

Image of Sonoko

Sorry :(

...

Ok, thanks. If I upload the image with the name 'Sonoko Suzuki Profile' I can't see the image.

Debt Collectors

I knew someone would resize them for me if I uploaded them like that. I didn't have the photo editing tools to resize it. I knew they had to be a certain size - otherwise why would I have previously uploaded pictures for Kimata and Nihonmatsu that met the requirements? :) Don't worry, I'm not as much of a beginner as you may think :) Hstar 20:36, 4 December 2011 (UTC)

Upload Image

Oh, thanks again. But how can I check the same width and length? :\ I don't know how I can do this... -- Gallery Photos, Paint or Paint.net :) haha -- It's okay, I am uploading with 250 x 250 :)

Thanks!!

Yes, I am going to try that later. The "The Séance's Double Locked Room Mystery Case" people's photos are very strange too and I am going to do the same.

And what length and width for cases images?

And how I do that? :\

Sorry, I am very clumsy :(

Thanks! :)

Reverting Vandalism

Just a quick tip, when you are reverting vandalism, it is much better to change it back to the last good version of the page by using the history tab than to try to manually edit it out. Some of your fixes did not fix all of the vandalism or removed good information. That IP was indef blocked by the way. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 17:08, 11 December 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for being first to the scene and trying to stop the guy. He probably would have kept going if you didn't let him know you had your eye on him. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 20:21, 11 December 2011 (UTC)

No problem, friend! :)

Good call on Holmes' Revelation

I just want to say good call on putting the identity of Yukiko is the spoilered resolution instead of the mysterious woman's character box. :) Chekhov MacGuffin talk 03:36, 18 December 2011 (UTC)

character ages

I reverted you in Eri. I JUST sourced Eri's age to be 38, 37 in her first appearance and then + 1 for her birthday. I just got through with reverting a guy who changed a bunch of character ages without sourcing. The problem of people changing ages has become so frequent I have resorted to leaving giant invisible warnings in hopes of stopping people. Please read the notes that I leave behind. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 21:08, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

That's not how it works. Some characters have age ranges meaning their true age is uncertain. Eri's is known for sure, so it doesn't have an age range. Chekhov MacGuffin talk 21:46, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

People's Pics in Episodes

What is again the size of the People's Pics in an Episode? --Noki25valenz 14:31, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

Changing and/or deleting Images

Hi again and thanks for your previous tips. Was just wondering however how to delete those three images you commented on earlier and if upload new version deletes the old one to be replaced by the new one. Trying to correct my little mistake there without adding any more to them since there is plenty of job adding episode images and such without me giving you and other contributor more work. --Cortax 00:10, 5 January 2012 (UTC)

While I taken note on the different naming depending on the image type, I also noticed that the casefile images are 640x480. So was just wondering if 250x250 for people and 640x480 for case images (like EP312-313 Case.jpg for example) is the common norm and if there is any other formats I should be aware of before uploading them.--Cortax 00:52, 5 January 2012 (UTC)

Thanks again, managed to overlook that one but its just what I was looking for. Shouldn't have any more problems. --Cortax 01:08, 5 January 2012 (UTC)

Thanks!!

Thank You for the Information!!! --Noki25valenz 08:51, 5 January 2012 (UTC)
