Mrs. Shimomura (下村 ,Shimomura) is a character in the anime franchise Detective Conan.

Background

Mrs. Shimomura is an old lady living in Beika, near the park. She owns a small shop named "Tobacco Shimomura" (タバコしもむら ,Tabako Shimomura) and the apartments above it. She was a key witness in an illegal bomb case since the tenant in one of the apartments above was found out to be a bombs-maker. Unbeknownst to her, her shop was also used by criminals as a drop-off location, which was notably used by Nobuo Kadokura and his gang.

Plot overview

While Mitsuhiko was following Nobuo Kadokura, a suspected terrorist, he went inside the restaurant next to Shimomura's shop and then went there to pick-up some "printed files" which after police investigation turned out to be bombs. A search was made at her building and the police found the bombs-maker. When he got taken out by Ida and Saitoh, she was quite surprised by the turn of events.
