Ryota Kawahara (河原 龍太 Kawahara Ryōta?) is a Japanese technical director and storyboard artist. He takes part in the production of Detective Conan anime and movies.

Biography

Ryota Kawahara graduated from Kyushu Sangyo University (九州産業大学); originaly from animation studio Sunrise (サンライズ). Kawahara has been active in the animation department since 2015, whereby he first debuted as a production advancement in the 270th episode of the third season of anime Gintama (銀魂). In 2016, he became a technical director for the first time in BattleSpirits Double Drive (バトルスピリッツ ダブルドライブ). After that, he began participating in several well-known animation works such as A Certain Scientific Railgun T (とある科学の超電磁砲T), yet mostly directional jobs. He is currently working for studio BAKKKA (ばっか).

Kawahara joined the production of the Detective Conan anime in 2021, starting with Episode 999: Troublesome Kindness, whereupon he became technical director in Movie 23: The Fist of Blue Sapphire.
