+ | As evidence to prove he was the murderer, Conan reveals that the book in the car came out on that same day and that Misumi's fingerprints were on the cover. However, Misumi reported that his girlfriend went missing yesterday. It's revealed that the book that Misumi brought was an attempt to win Ami's love back. Misumi tells everyone that he would do anything for Ami, whether it was to take a leave from work to go on vacation with her or stay in line overnight to get a concert ticket.

+ | It was the same for the car; Ami wanted to try it out, so Misumi took out a loan to buy it for her. Unfortunately, Ami only saw Misumi as a servant than a boyfriend. Misumi found a cigarette in the car that he and Ami don't smoke, making Misumi realize that Ami was cheating on him. When Misumi confronted Ami about it, she seriously told Misumi she went out with another guy and said she had a great time.

+ | Misumi tells everyone that he regrets what he did, saying he really did love Ami, only for Kogoro (via Conan) to stop the farce. Kogoro tells Misumi that although he's not sure if Ami felt the same way about him, he was sure the love between them has long faded. Kogoro tell Misumi if he really wanted to save Ami, he would of broke the rear window and side windows carefully. But Misumi broke the front window, because the glass shards would cut Ami's face. Misumi just wanted to destroy the car and all the memories he had with her.</spoiler>
