Now we once again must answer that annoying-ass question: What counts as an appearance? Kogoro is only merely mentioned in the first chapter of the manga, but when Ran does mention him that one time his face is shown in her speech bubble. So does Kogoro appear in Chapter 1 or not? For anime appearances, I have counted when they are shown in thought bubbles, or when a person is talking about them, and you see them above their head. CarpetCrawler^{message me} 00:57, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
