Anti-APTX4869 181 Report post Posted June 23, 2011 Too much work at school helping teachers. Notebook checks, grade input, moving boxes of textbooks, grading test... at least I got paid a lot... $96 not bad...
Forever Lost 55 Report post Posted June 23, 2011 I wish I got paid to be a teacher aide.. I'd have been rich for three years when I was one..

Anti-APTX4869 181 Report post Posted June 23, 2011 It was a busy day. working for 12 hours. I took a break for one hour around 3~4...
Forever Lost 55 Report post Posted June 23, 2011 I worked yesterday for about seven hours ... I skipped dinner so J-man bought me some McDonald's at 10pm on our way home XD So I guess meals be my "thank you for working your butt off unasked today" but really that shouldn't come from J-man 'cause he's teeechnically not a leader.. he's just really nice XD I didn't feel so bad 'cause I made seven announcement slides from scratch and fixed one, so I wasn't being a freeloader this time >3>
Anti-APTX4869 181 Report post Posted June 23, 2011 good to see you working hard. keep it up.
Misaki-chan 164 Report post Posted June 23, 2011 You guys are so lucky... You can have jobs and everything... I have to wait at least until I'm 14 to get a job due to child labor laws...
Forever Lost 55 Report post Posted June 23, 2011 It's volunteering at church in my case >.> no child labor law against that XD I was volunteering at 12.. free labor XPPP but I COULD get a job.... if I had a car.. someone to watch my younger sister.. if I had my license ... and if I was pretty enough (I've been hearing a lot about this discrimination issue going on, my friend had a recommendation and lots of stuff going for her and her and another girl who had nothin' but looks applied the same day and the other girl got the job immediately.. :/)
Anti-APTX4869 181 Report post Posted June 23, 2011 volunteer and community service.... letsee.. I have like 2000 hours.. since 6th grade.
Misaki-chan 164 Report post Posted June 23, 2011 Je-chan, that's (excuse my language) BS. It should be because they can do the job, not because they look nice!
Forever Lost 55 Report post Posted June 23, 2011 Let's see.... to be fair let's start at 13..... 52 sundays in a year. I wasn't in nursery EVERY sunday but I was often in nursery on wednesdays so overall it'd probably end up something like that. I was volunteering with kids (the kids group and nursery group) for at least three whole years, but this fourth year not so much. Soo.... 156 days approximately.. The Sunday service is probably... two hours.... 312... Now for almost a year I've been helping with the media group.. Sunday nights and Wednesday nights... so we can just go with 82 for the combined amount of time I've been up there... wed+sun... once again, services are around two hours, 'cept now we could (but I'm too lazy to) include the time during praise and worship.... So 164? For the extra time I go up on Tuesdays... I've been doing that about six months now.. USUALLY we're there from about 6-10 so it's about four hours so collectively possibly 96 hours. For actual work volunteering, I have about 572, excluding all the hours for the play and extra stuff that we went into. Choir is considered volunteering, but it's not actual work so I dunno if that counts. (we appear, practice, and sing for certain sundays but it's not manual work soo .. ) Pretty good I guess, for someone like me XDDD (Yeah, I seriously just sat here and calculated this..) EDIT: @Misaki-chan: IT IS BS XD Oh dang. I forgot all my teacher aide hours... wait.. do those even count? Since it was like.. school elective technically? Anti-APTX4869 181 Report post Posted June 23, 2011 572. not bad. I got lazy during 7th and 8th and barely did any...
Misaki-chan 164 Report post Posted June 23, 2011 I'm dunno what I got... Does helping my study hall teacher count?
Forever Lost 55 Report post Posted June 23, 2011 I dunno.. mebbe Cure-kun knows.. if teacher aide type stuff counts I'm adding to my number XDDD Does volunteering in a choir at church count? XDDD It's a volunteer group technically XDDDDDDDDD Oh gosh. If I added all the times I helped in sunday school... @.@ (there's sunday school, regular service, and night service on a Sunday..) Misaki-chan 164 Report post Posted June 23, 2011 I don't go to church. Technically, I'm a Buddhist.
Anti-APTX4869 181 Report post Posted June 23, 2011 Volunteering counts when you can get a certificate from them. like libraries and hospitals, and there are many organization you can find as well. just don't get in to BO.
Forever Lost 55 Report post Posted June 23, 2011 THEN NONE OF MINE COUNT :DDD 'cause I'd never get a certificate for any of my work pahahahahaha
Misaki-chan 164 Report post Posted June 23, 2011 Me too....
Forever Lost 55 Report post Posted June 23, 2011 So volunteering for four years in multiple areas for many hours means nothing unless you get a certificate saying GOOD JOB YOU VOLUNTEERED SO MANY HOURS? >3> Oh well~ XDDD I just realized.... how much I volunteer o.o''' how long, too.. *stare* Wooow. Not nearly as much as J-man and Para-chan (more nicknames ) but by the time I'm 22 maybe I will o.o'
Misaki-chan 164 Report post Posted June 23, 2011 As for me, I do it for my selfish reasons. I helped my teacher for great food. XD
Forever Lost 55 Report post Posted June 23, 2011 XDDD I can't say that my Tuesday volunteering isn't unselfish exactly >.> I get to spend time with J-man and work with the people I've always wanted to hang out with.. and I often get to eat out XD
Misaki-chan 164 Report post Posted June 23, 2011 For me, my motive tends to lean towards food... Yep, I'm weird like that. I don't spend my allowance on clothes or make up like most girls my age, I spend it on good food from good restaurants. =
Anti-APTX4869 181 Report post Posted June 23, 2011 Talking about cloth reminded me.... > I SAW THAT GRACE ALSO HAD THE HAWAIIAN SHIRT WITH HEARTS.... I See they were planning the "Coulple-ts/"

Misaki-chan 164 Report post Posted June 23, 2011 O___o Weird... Personally, I think they should have gotten something cute for the two of you rather than matching shirts.... I have nothing against hawaiian shirts, but just saying....
