DCW IRL Round 6: Jupiter

Recommended Posts

Due to the newly implemented downtime clause, this round is temporarily suspended until February 1, 2013, 12:00 AM U.S Mountain Time. This does not necessarily mean you can't post, but do try to keep plot momentum at a minimum if you do, and I will not enforce my brutal inactivity clauses until the linked time.

(The long inactivity period is due to the fact that I will be more busy this week, and will not have the time to moderate.)

"Vivi!" Sparrow realized Vivi was awake. "Are you alright!?"

Vivi turned to Sparrow and inspected her.

"Better than you." She replied, then laid back down on the bed.

'Dam***!' Vivi cursed as she turned away from Sparrow and planted her face into the pillow. She slammed the bed a few more times before finally settling down.

[Recap]

"No... no.. Noooo-rrrghk!!!" Vivi bounced up from her bed right after she woke and with her wounds hurting like crazy.

There was a girl beside her who was shocked by the sudden activity.

"Ah! No! You shouldn't get up yet! Your wounds are not heale- Oh no!!! It's open again! Sleep down right away I'll find a doctor.. I'll get... DOCTOR!!!" Vivi watched as the frantic girl zoomed around yelling for the doctor. Vivi tried to remember what had happened. When she was shot, she assumed that she was going to die, being alive was a surprise. She looked down at her heavily bandaged body then scanned the room. It looks like an infirmary. She must have been saved by someone. Her wounds started to hurt a lot and she had no choice but to lie down.

"Here!!!" the girl from before led a few people in white into the room. They quickly gathered around her and started unbandaging her.

"NO!" Vivi cried in reluctance and pushed their hands away. She has always been overly sensitive against touch. More so for guys. The doctors were shocked by her reaction and attempted to get close to Vivi again. "No!!!" Vivi swept them away again. The doctors were at a loss for what to do with Vivi.

Seeing this, the girl then commented. "You need to get yourself healed. Why are you doing thi-?"

"Go-go away! Do-don't touch me! Aur-ggh..." Vivi winced in pain as she continued curled up in her bed. "Don't..."

The girl sighed and turned to the doctors. "Wait for me outside will you? I'll talk to her." the doctors nodded and left the room.

"You can relax now. They're outside. They won't get near you." the girl tried to comfort Vivi, who is still curled up.

"..."

"What's your name?" the girl asked.

"..." Was the reply.

The girl decided to keep asking anyway.

"Your age?" "......" "Where do you stay?" "......" "How did you get injured?" "......" "Do you have any family?" Vivi raised an eyebrow.

The girl noticed Vivi's change in expression and decided to continue asking. "You have a mother? ... A father?" No response. The girl started to look a little worried. "... A sister...?"

"...Brother." Vivi replied.

"I see!" the girl looked a little relieved. "Where is he now?"

"..." Vivi went back to silence again, but the girl realized that her brother was important to her.

"I'm sure he's still waiting for you to return..." the girl smiled. Vivi continued to be silent.

Suddenly, several shouts were heard from the corridors outside the room. The atmosphere changed and many people started rushing around. Curious, the girl grabbed a person running by. "What's going on!?"

"Huh!? We got news from a civilian that the armed forces appeared at the fourth district near the church and even attacked a kid! We're headin over now!"

Vivi froze. Fourth district. That's the place of their home.

"No..." Vivi immediately sprang out of bed despite her injuries and dashed out of the room.

"Wait.. Hey wait!!!" the girl yelled and chased after her.

"Petya, what are you hear?" Greyfield asked him. "Divination by Mastodon. A f***ing metal song. Do you have a plan?" Petya snickered, he holding a Glock 18. "I don't know. But the Nubinelle was marred with one of their soldier was mortally wounded because she was trying to kill you. But I rescued you with shot her in the chest" Petya change the song and now he hearing WWIII by KMFDM, "Anyway, who's that girl?"

DCW is back online for me \o/))

Ash heard Vivi pound on the bed. "Vivi!" she called, "Are you alright?!"

She still couldn't move, but she glanced to the side as the girl answered blankly, "Better than you." She sighed and stared at the ceiling. There were three hundred and forty seven small square tiles in the ceiling, which she knew from counting during previous visits. 'I gotta spend less time 'ere...' she thought, remembering why she knew the exact number. 'I wonder if Misaki and Brent an' the others're alright...'

Ash smiled at the other girl, fully aware that Vivi wasn't listening as she spoke, but feeling the need to say it nonetheless. "Thanks fer savin' my a** back there, Vi..." As pi**ed off as she was at Petya and his senior officer for the bullet in her ribs, she was twice as grateful to Vivi for helping her out.

Neither girl had ever been close to other members of the rebellion, least of all each other. She figured antisocial fighters would pretty much avoid as much attachment as possible; but she was glad as hell she wasn't alone during the fight, even if that T guy stepped in and stopped the combat.

[Continuing the recap]

"Hey wait!!!" the other girl chased up to Vivi and blocked her path. "Where do you think you're goin like this?"

Vivi realized as well she is in no condition to fight. But it wasn't a matter of choice.

"Im going to the fourth district." she replied.

"For? Don't tell me you're going back there to rejoin the armed forces! I know you are related to them! Im not saying youre evil and all bur I'm not letting you near them! I'm going to stop you from going and..." the girl stopped when she realized Vivi's expression changed.

"... District 4..." Vivi commented softly. "... is my home..."

"Eh... Eh!?" the girl was shocked. "Your... Your... So..."

"You can't stop me even if you kill me..." Vivi was desperate. She's having a bad feeling and she had to go make sure.

The girl paused for a moment and said. "Alright. I'll get some troops and bring you there. You wait for me. It's faster than you walk there like this with your condition."

"..." Vivi couldnt trust her, but she knew the girl was right. By the time she reached on her own, everything would have been over. She decided to go along.

"But I have a condition."

'Knew it.' Vivi thought and waited to see what atrocious request she's going to make.

"During the travel, you are going to allow the doctors to treat you." the girl said sternly.

Vivi raised an eyebrow. "...Huh?"

"Don't worry, I'm getting female doctors and I assure you they won't be rough. And I will be there as well~"

"..." Vivi thought about it for a while and figured that her brother was more important, so she nodded.

"Alright! Wait for me here!" The girl then rushed off into the building.

When she could move, Ash stretched her legs and inched out of the bed, starting at the cold feel of the tile beneath her bare feet. There were no attendants, just herself and the sleeping Vivi. She sighed and stretched her arms, wincing as her stitches pulled taut. "Ah well, scars're just ornaments of bloodshed, memories of moments of weakness. Let it heal..." Ash shuffled to the door, steadying herself against the wall. She needed to go out and ge some fresh air... and for that she needed permissio at this point. "'Ey, Brent, Misaki... anybody there?" she called through the open frame. When there was no answer she risked another lecture, heading down the hall toward the hidden entrance. She stepped out into the night, not noticing that her only clothes were here baggy cargo shorts and bandages over her torso to her shoulders. The rebel known as Sparrow watched her surroundings closely before closing the door behind and heading out to catch a glimpse of the moon.

Sakila was walking around the Rebellion headquarters, waiting for the meeting to start. There had been a few casualties to be taken care of, so the meeting had been put on hold.

Sakila wasn't sure where she was. She'd only been to the Rebellion HQ a few times. Some 8ths didn't like the Rebels, thinking they were traitors, but Sakila thought of most of them as comrades. She turned a corner, thinking of Vivi. She'd known Vivi from her Battalion days and was still close with the girl. Sakila had just peeked into her room, finding her asleep. The room was empty, although there was another bed.

Sakila kept walking, now completely lost. Finding a discreet exit at the end of the hall, she opened the door, going outside.

"Oh! Um, I didn't know someone was here, sorry." The figure in front of her turned around.

"Ah, wait. You're Sparrow, aren't you?"

[Continued recap]

The girl returned with a group of people and carrying tons of supplies.

"Let's get to the car now!" the girl yelled while fumbling over the items she was carrying.

Vivi turned and headed towards the direction where the group was heading. A vehicle drove in, and apparently, it was a jeep (or jeep-like vehicle) instead of a car. Vivi hopped into the moving vehicle, and the rest followed. The girl threw all the baggage into the back of the 'jeep' before jumping in. It was a pretty high-tech vehicle. As soon as all of them jumped in, the top of the jeep started to shut off and ..closed up.

Once she's in, the girl stared at Vivi with a look of expectation.

"..." Vivi tried to look away.

"Help her take a look at her wounds." the girl signalled to a few of her team. They nodded and started tending to Vivi. Vivi had no choice but to comply since she had made a promise, but still felt uncomfortable while they're at it.

"By the way..." the girl continued. "My name's Sakila."

------- Fast Forward --------

Not before long, they reached the borders of district 4. Some were trying to escape and some were trying to find out what happened. Suddenly, a few battalions came running up to them.

"It's terrible! Terrible!" the battalion soldier reported.

"What happened?!" Sakila questioned the soldier.

"A-A kid attacked the armed forces soldiers and... and the-they..." the soldier hesitated. Vivi raised an eyebrow.

"... and now our forces are fighting against the armed forces and trying to push them back..."

"Bring us there immediately!" Sakila ordered. She sensed that Vivi was desperate.

"Yes sir! This way!" the soldier then ran towards the direction of the church and the crew followed.

As the sounds of gunshots approached, the entire battle field came to view. The armed forces and the battalions were fighting each other out and the entire situation was chaotic.

"Where's the kid?" Sakila asked and the soldier pointed to the direction of the church where the battle is the most intense.

Before they could react, Vivi jumped straight out of the moving jeep and ran straight into the war zone.

"No wait!" Sakila cried after her before turning to her crew. "Everyone, open up a path for her!"

Vivi could see the silhouette of the kid lying on the ground. A lady was holding on to him but she wasn't doing anything.

"Please..." Vivi prayed as she got closer.

Bullets scrapped past her and enemies infront of her were shot down by the girl's crew. She finally got close enough to see the kid.

Her face darkened as she saw the boy. His head and limbs were bleeding profusely and he's struggling to breathe properly. Immediately, Vivi dashed over to the boy. "Rei!"

"Oh no..." Sakila gasped. "Everyone! We're going to cover her. First priority is to get the boy out for treatment! Doctors standby!"

The woman who was with the boy was a little surprised by Vivi's entrance, but she immediately knew what to do. She carried the boy up gently and together with some reinforcements that Sakila sent in, they made their way out of the fight zone.

"Name's Sakila," she started, with a smile. "And 8th. I've heard of you from Vivi."

Sakila, walked over to wear the older girl stood. "You were quite exceptional on the battle field today. As was Vivi. Are you two close? You seemed very compatible."

Which is surprising, Sakila thought to herself. She knew VIvi wasn't the most cooperative person. Her mind slowly drifted back to the first time she'd met the girl. She'd been interning under the medical department back in those days. She'd been eyeing the village care positions, but had been placed in the medical department for training. That particular had been hectic and Sakila was sick of her superior. He'd been going on and on about how much he hated the Rebels because they were supposedly traitors or something and Sakila couldn't stand it. So when she met the young Vivi, she'd been fine with defying her superior and taking the patient along with her.

As soon as they were back at the hospital, Sakila forced Vivi to get back to her bed. The hysterical girl refused, but Sakila would have none of it. "We're taking care of him! We're doing everything we can. The most you can do at this moment to help us is calm down and rest. Look, we've placed your brother in the room opposite yours. You can seem him from your bed. Now sit."

After the girl complied, Sakila sat down next to her, reassessing the damage done to her body. Some of the wounds had reopened. "Listen, I need you to cooperate with me here. I can't help you if you don't. Our healers are currently very busy, but we're trying to contact one for your brother. Let me look at your wounds, okay? Say, you never did tell me your name..."

Shaking her head, Sakila returned from the flashback. She smiled again as she awaited Sparrow's answer.

Vivi didn't care about anything except her brother. Her health isn't all that important. She needed to make sure her brother's safe. However, that girl wouldn't let her.

"Listen, I need you to cooperate with me here. I can't help you if you don't. Our healers are currently very busy, but we're trying to contact one for your brother. Let me look at your wounds, okay? Say, you never did tell me your name..."

The girl tried to get her to sit down. But how could she?! When she saw how her brother was at the church, she felt like jumping straight at the armed forces and tear out their heart. However, thinking of her brother, she gave up on that thought and brought him back instead. He has to recover no matter what. She will have nothing else on her mind.

Vivi ignored Sakila's question but still sat down, with much frustration. The girl made lots of worried expressions when she inspected her wounds but Vivi knew it best herself. Her body hurt like she had a thousand knives stabbed into her and she had no strength in her to continue standing. Moving around and worrying for her brother seemed to help take her mind off it though. Now that she sat down, the pain came back.

"You're too reckless. Who would jump into a war zone like that? You're lucky you don't have any bullets drive straight into your head!" lectured the girl. Vivi stayed silent.

The girl had stayed in the room to take care of Vivi as Vivi refused to fall asleep. However, She kept talking to her despite her silent treatment. After a couple of hours, just as Vivi was about to fall asleep, someone dashed into the room.

"Sakila!"

Petya snickered, "I wonder if I can took my AK and cap that 'T' to his head, kill a lot of Nubi-f***ing-nelle, blowing a pipeline and kill Ash here." Greyfield laughed, "If only..."

Ash shook her head. "I barely know 'er.... I ain't the most... social rebel o' the group." She laughed ironically, staring at the ground. "Uh, could ya tell 'er when she gets up... thanks fer me? She saved my life today." She an' that weird guy T... With a distant smile and a downcast gaze she nodded in farewell, walking past Sakila. "She'll be in the infirmary room one," she called back distractedly as she continued on into the town. She didn't know why, but she felt that she should go out into the city and check on her apartment... not that there was any way it'd be noticed, and even if it had, nothing had been left there. It wasn't until she'd been walking for five minutes that she realized she'd left her scythe at HQ somewhere. All the more reason ta head home. I c'n pick up somethin' ta use 'til my power comes back fully. With a sigh he stretched, pressing on her stiches. Ash gave the signature whistle that had earned her the nickname Sparrow, heading down an alley only two minutes from her home.

"Good morning, Greyfield, sir." Yi, dutifully holding a clipboard, glanced at it before speaking."T sends his regards. He has sent us a shipment of missiles. We estimate that the entire group can annihilate most of the country."

"Excellent! We'll use them to crush the rebels once and for all! Prime them all!" Greyfield waved his arm, and Yi nodded and walked out of his room.

"A bit of a fool, isn't he. T is never the one to give out weapons so wantonly. But a soldier must do what a soldier must do." She cleared her throat, then shouted. "All soldiers present, to attention! Prime the missiles and aim them at significant rebel bases! Now!" The soldiers scurried to their positions...

"It's been a while, Brent."

"You too, Jackson." They shook hands, then sat down. Immediately, Mokou ran up to Brent, gasping for breath. "Brent, sir, we found an ability recruit."

Brent frowned. "A recruit? Now?"

Jackson clapped his hands. "Oh, good. You haven't gotten an ability user in a while. I'll go organize my troops, and hopefully we can get this coalition working." He stood up and left the room. Brent sighed, then asked, "The name?" Mokou frowned, then replied, "I believe it's Rose. I found her wandering, and I decided to escort her. She's with the troops."

"It's hard times for rookies. With the Armed Forces attacking so regularly, rookies tend to be the first to go. Huh, but we can't leave her. Let her sit in the meeting with the other ability users."

Mokou frowned. "A rookie? What are you thinking?!" Brent raised a hand. "It'll be one of the best ways for her to gain experience without getting shot at. Now, go." Mokou went off, a bit unwillingly.

============================================================

"What do you mean, Sparrow isn't here?" Jackson tapped his foot impatiently. "She has to be in the meeting! One of our best fighters!"

"Believe she's headed home. Want me to go get her?" Tasha tilted her head and waited for an answer. After Jackson nodded, she ran off.

Jackson walked up to a Nubinelle Rebellion soldier and tapped his shoulder. "Get the other ability users ready. Of course, if they're conscious and all." The soldier nodded.

============================================================

(Signups closed. Rose (Lovestruck or whatever) will be the 7th member, and will be a member of the 8th Battalion.

I'm back, guys! Whaddaya say we get this thing moving again?)

"Sakila!"

"What's wrong!?"

"Ah. You're here as well. The operation is over. " The person, who seemed to be a nurse said solemnly with a frown on her face.

Vivi immediately sprang up from her bed and grabbed her. "How was it!? How's Rei!?"

The nurse looked a little upset and she was silent. "Tell me!" vivi probed and shook the nurse.

The nurse paused for a while before replying, "The boy survived..."

Vivi was a little relieved when she heard that he survived and she released the nurse.

"But..." the nurse continued, and Vivi tensed up again. "...but...?" She asked.

"... Because the impact in his head caused his nerves to get injured, it affected his limbs and processing ability, and also his a biliary to talk properly... " the nurse darted her eyes around uncomfortably, "he may not be able to get out of bed or talk properly for the rest of his life..."

Vivi's heart sank. 'No... Rei!' Vivi couldn't imagine the lively little boy to not be able to move around anymore. The boy must be devastated! Thinking of this, vivi jumped out of her bed immediately and rushed out of the room. Sakila didn't stop her and she followed her close behind. The operation light was turned off already and she could see her heavily bandaged brother through the glass window. She immediately dashed into the room to her brother. "Rei..." she called out softly to him from the side.

Her brother was breathing properly now and seemed to be asleep. Vivi didn't know what to do except to watch his poor brother lay there. His head, and arms, and body, and legs, are all bandaged up, like an Egyptian mummy. Those wounds will heal, and at most marks of scratches will be left on them, they will look fine, but he may never be able to use them any more. Vivi stood by the side and kept looking at her brother, her eyes started to show signs of anger and frustration. She clenched her fists tight and slammed it through the air before turning around and trying to dash out of the room again, but was stopped by Sakila.

"Are you going to look for the armed forces for revenge!?" sakila pushed Vivi back with all her strength.

"Don't stop me!" Vivi tried to struggle but she was not strong enough, especially do with her wounds. "I'm going to kill those flies!"

"No stop.. You can't do anything with a body like that!" Sakila tried to block some of Vivi's attempts to pass through. Vivi ignored and continued trying to get through. "Vi-vivi! If-if you-ou want to take re-venge...... THEN JOIN US!"

Vivo stopped. "Huh?"

"I will talk to Brent. I will persuade him. You just need to agree."

"Are you joking? You know very well who I am and where I am from."

"I know. But I also know that you're definitely not aligned with the armed forces now. You want the elimination of the armed forces right? Then, essentially, our goals are similar. The more allies we have the better for us as well. And think about it, if you join us, you get information on the enemy and you get to use the new equipments here. You also get training and increase your chances of winning. Isn't that so much better than charge at your enemy now and let them have the satisfaction of killing you?"

Vivi thought for a moment and replied. "Then... About my brother..."

"Of course we'll take care of him here!" Sakila replied. "I will persuade them. You can leave it to me!" and before she even got a reply, she dashed out, leaving the stunned Vivi back in the room.

Ash snuck around the side of her building, unlocking the door and heading upstairs. She closed the door to her building and room behind her, heading to the cabinet. She drew out a pair of fingerless gloves, slipping them on. "I c'n use my power without expendin' energy on carryin' the scythe." She glanced at the counter, then picked up the picture frame. This was all she had of her parents, and she'd had it since she was seven, the last time she'd seen them. The photograph of herself and her parents; her mother held her hand, smiling, as her father stood beside them, tall and stern in his uniform... an Armed Forces uniform, captain's rank. Disowned me when I said I wasn't gonna fight fer them... "Dammit, I can't leave this 'ere anymore. I don't want either side ta see it..." Ash opened up the frame, taking out and folding the worn photo and slipping it into the top of her right glove. She stared at it for a moment, then shook her head and sat down. "Whatever yer doin' now dad, I'm gonna stop it..." She glanced at her clock, then jumped up and ran to the door. "I'm late fer the meeting!" Ash hurried out, locking both doors and heading into the street.

"Did you sure a shitload of missile can whip these dumb****? These fools were planning to meeting at the HQ. Are we launched the missile directly to them?" Petya asked him. Greyfield nodded. "I'll try as i can. The missile will be launched in one week."

Misaki slipped into the conference room, being as quiet as she could so it wouldn't be noticed that she was a little late. As she sat down, Jackson said, "It's been a while, Brent."

"You too, Jackson."

They shook hands, then sat down. Before anything could be further said, Mokou ran up to Brent, gasping for breath. "Brent, sir, we found an ability recruit."

Brent frowned. "A recruit? Now?"

Jackson clapped his hands happily. "Oh, good. You haven't gotten an ability user in a while. I'll go organize my troops, and hopefully we can get this coalition working."

He stood up. Misaki watched as he left the room quickly. Brent let out a sigh as he asked, "The name?"

Mokou frowned, then replied, "I believe it's Rose. I found her wandering, and I decided to escort her. She's with the troops."

Mokou frowned. "A rookie? What are you thinking?!"

Brent raised a hand. "It'll be one of the best ways for her to gain experience without getting shot at. Now, go."

Mokou frowned once more, but left without another word. The meeting room sat silent for a few minutes, no one saying a word. Well... That was a quick meeting.

Someone spoke, "Um, sir? Is the meeting over?"

Brent jumped a little before looking at the speaker and replying, "It seems so. Everyone from the Battalion, we should go hurry to get back to base to get our ability users. As for the Rebellion, you should ask Jackson what to do."

The room filled with the sounds of people getting up and leaving until only members of the Rebellion were left. They sat there for a second, glancing at each other before getting up and leaving themselves.

Misaki headed towards the training room, fully intending to go back to practice fighting some more when someone tapped her on the shoulder. She turned around and asked, "Yes?"

The man, who was slightly shorter than her, said, "Jackson wants all ability users to get ready!"

She grinned as she replied, "For battle?"

When he nodded, she let out a happy squeal before continuing, "So where does he want us?"

"Main meeting room!"

"Thanks!"

She ran off, eager to get to the room since the sooner everything started, the sooner she would finally get to fight.

Vivi thought about the time she joined the 8th battalion. It reminded her about her brother, and it isn't anything pleasant. In the end, many things happened and she ended up in the rebellion. But in the end she still isn't skilled enough to deal with the armed forces. She quit the battalion to join the rebellion just for the sake of defeating the AF, but it didn't turn out very successful. She can't help but feel frustrated that she wasn't able to do anything.

She calmed down a little and sat up on her bed. Then she spotted someone at the door.
