The 23 Enigma

Recommended Posts

The 23 Enigma states that most incidents and events are directly connected to the number 23, some modification of the number 23, or a number related to the number 23.

It's quite an interesting speculation on occurences, so I decided to start a topic about it.

Here are some examples that I found...

-Julius Caesar was stabbed 23 times

-It takes approximately 23 seconds for blood to circulate around the body

-The Earth is tilted at approximately 23 degrees

-There are 23 characters on the "head side" of each U.S. coin (penny, nickel, dime, quarter)

-The letter W is the 23rd letter of the alphabet; Has 2 points down and 3 points up; The two numbers above letter W on a keyboard are 2 and 3

-The atomic bomb was dropped in Hiroshima, Japan at 8:15 on 8/6/45; 8 + 15 = 23; 8 + 6 + 4 + 5 =23

-Terrorist attacks on 9/11; Happened on 9/11/2001; 9 + 11 + 2 + 0 + 0 + 1 = 23

-Sinking of the Titanic; Happened on 4/15/1912; 4 + 1 + 5 + 1 + 9 + 1 + 2 = 23

There are a plethora of examples that you can find on the Internet (too much for comfort, actually). And yes, this topic is VERY controversial. Some people have developed paranoia for the number 23 after hearing about it (to the point of becoming utterly obsessed with finding new ways to relate anything to 23). They became so tranced by this enigma that they dedicated their lives to it (in a mental institution, that is). On the other hand, some (or most) people find it preposterous to even consider the number 23 an enigma. Their arguments include: "You can connect any number with any incident", "There are several complex, yet idiotic ways to relate incidences to the number 23", or "Those are all coincidences and to believe otherwise makes you sound gullible and dumb."

Here's an example of one that was just plain random and was "over-thought-out":

RED and WHITE; R=18, E=5, D=4, W=23, H=8, I=9, T=20, E=5; 18+5+4+23+8+9+20+5=92; WHITE and RED make PINK; PINK has 4 letters; 92 divided by 4 equals 23

So here are some questions for you guys...

What's your opinion on the 23 Enigma?

Do you believe these examples are pure coincidences or something more supernatural?

What are some examples that you can come up? (Can be funny or something mind-boggling)

Note: I am not a supporter of the 23 Enigma. I just love to poke fun at it.

Those topics like that are my interests. Before 13 and now 23?What's next?33? Hahahaha Nice topic AJ-kun!

We can't really say if it's supernatural or coincidence because there are so many things that you can came up with.

You heard "Illuminati"?How about Backmasking?Like the songs are played backwards and contain hidden messages?

Here's an example though I think it's off-topic.

Barney hahahaha

*not sure if that's a good thing or not* Maybe because I act younger when I talk to you. Something about you brings out the 14-15 year old in me, I guess... :P

Bored people made this up... And we all know that there is no significance in 23... now 42 on the other hand is a different story entirely.

YAY someone else who was thinking about 42.

42 dots on two dice.

42 eyes in a standard deck of cards.

And Douglas Adams' Answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything.
